Is there a way to specify the resolution of the image opened in Photoshop when you use the "Open As Layers" option within the "Edit In" Menu like you can do for the "edit in Photoshop" option. For example in my preferences for the "edit in CS6" option if I set 300 as the resolution it opens as such, however if I try to open multiple images with the Open As Layers option they start with a resolution of 240.
Lightrrom 4.2 can't use the right click, "edit in" photoshop CS6. I have tried edit, preferences, and created a Preset and pointed it to the CS6 photoshop.exe... still a no-go.
I am unable to open PSE 10 when I select "Edit In" with Lightroom 4. I have changed Preferences to PSE Editor. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE. I am using a MAC.
My Lightroom 3 closed after editing a photo and will not open again. It says Lightroom is not working and Windows is looking for a solution. I am in a bind and need my Lightroom opened asap.
Today I'll tryed to open Photoshop and it says "Error: 1, uninstall and install application again". I uninstalled and installed it and after that trying to open photo/photos from Lightroom to Photoshop and found it does not work anymore. Photoshop starts but it only Pop up "Open As" windows and that's it.
I am a full member of creative cloud so all progs are the newest ones.
I have now tryed to install both Photoshop and Lightroom again. No change...
I recently re-installed Gimp onto my MacBook Pro after doing a clean install I was hesitant because I did not want to install X11 again. So now that Gimp is Mac native I am happily working with it again. My problem is that every time I try to edit a high resolution photo that I have taken with my Canon Rebel T3i Gimp crashes.
My MacBook specs are:
2.7 GHz i7 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
When I open the file.psd to edit or file.jpg (Any file type) The program will appear the dialog and then When I click "OK" to close this dialog. After that, it will appear the dialog to close program.
I could not continue to work.I must close and reopen the program. (Do not open the file.)
No matter what resolution I save a jpeg at, they all seem to open at 480 dpi. I would like my jpegs to open at their native resolution. I have looked through the options and settings, but can't find the command to change this. (When I go to resample it always displays 480 dpi)
I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
I am trying to open a .psd file that I saved few weeks ago but i get an error: "could not open, becuase the layer you are trying to open is not a compatible text layer". I really need to edit this image.
Photoshop glitched during a save of an image that had been opened from Aperture 3, and now I can't open PS at all. The error message I get is: "Couldn't open the edit log file Photoshop Edit Log. Edit logging is disabled." I'm running Photoshop from Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard, Mac OS X 10.7.3
SInce I can't get into PS, I have no way of getting into the preferences settings.
how to reset or delete the corrupted edit log and create a new one?
I need to open videos to edit for my Photoshop class, but everytime I try it says "could not complete your request because the video file could not be opened.
I am trying to open [URL]...
I need to update my video card... How do I do that?

I realize the nature of my question maybe asking the impossible, but I have a low res image I downloaded from the internet, placed in an InDesign page, blew it up and printed it out. I was going for the distressed look that it has, it looks ok when I print it out considering it's low res and I blew it up fairly large. However, it's a little too pixelated to look professional when printed. Are they any tricks or things I can do to make it look higher res for print. I've attached the image as well as a screenshot of the InDesign file so you can see it in context.
Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the VOB files. I tried to change the extension to AVI and then drag it in. It works but it's distorted.
I have found the perfect editable magazine template but it's an InDesign file.
Is it possible to open and edit this in Photoshop CS6. I would need to be able to drop in my own images and replace all the text without compromising the existing design, can this be done with my very basic skills?
I am a Photoshop newbie and I have a series of graphics (all 72dpi from a website) that I would like to print in 300dpi. Is it possible to take a 72dpi .jpeg or .gif file and easily convert it to a higher resolution printable graphic? If Photoshop can't do it, is there any type of program that can?
I was entitled to a free upgrade to CS4 which I have installed but I now have many problems in trying to get CS4 to run properly.
1. Sometimes CS4 will open but the toolbar with FILE, EDIT is missing
2. Mostly when I open CS4 IF I click on 'FILE' everything is greyed out apart from Import, Automate and scripts and CS4 hangs.
3. If I click on FILE to try and open a file that too is greyed out until I click on 'Clear open recent'
4. If I open a image and want to get rid of any blemishes with the spot healing brush I can select the tool, click on a spot and a nice splodge is left on the image but the tool does not clear the blemish until I click on a completely different tool. eg. Text or anything.
5. Using Unsharp mask As I move the 'Radius' Nothing happens for ages.
So I have absolutely no idea why this these things are happening.
My System is Windows Vista 4GB Ram (although CS4 only thinks I have just under 2GB
CPU Intel Dual core 2.2GHZ
Graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GT and last week I downloaded a new driver to 7.15.11.7824
I have played with the cache and memory allocation, to no avail
I own photo elements 6 (photo premiere 4). Photo elem. 6 takes forever to open photo in the edit mode. Why? I am using window 8. It was working ok. Now a problem. I uninstalled it reinstalled.
I'm traveling right now and so not in my natural environment, dont have full resources. I'm using my Mac Book Pro and doing some light editing. I can not, however, get Lr3 and PSE9 to play nice together though. If in Lr3 I request <Edit in PSE9> it only tries to launch PSE even if it is already open but will not open the imaged. If I drag the images from Lr3 to PSE it will be locked and I can not even create a duplicat layer.
The issue comes at random; upon starting PS CS6 (32-bit or 64-bit) it won't be able to open ANY files, of ANY file type (.psd, .jpg, .png, etc.)If by some miracle it DOES open a file, it won't be able to edit it; i.e. upon drawing a line with the brush tool, PS will delete the line when you lift off the mouse.
Things I've tried or tested include making sure the file wasn't read only, making sure it was a valid file, and deleting the preferences.I never have this problem on the school computers (all our school computers are late-model iMacs), but I've had this problem on two seperate Windows 7 64-Bit PCs.
The only way to fix it is to do a complete system reboot; even now though I've done three reboots & it still won't work anymore. My system specs for my desktop are:
Everytime I open photoshop to edit a simple photo it crashes. Almost as soon as I press clone tool or any other tool it crashes. Its not my computer, or the space on my computer or my video drives. I was going to uninstall then re-install but I am scared because I have the CD but not my serial number.
I received PSE 8 in a bundle with a Bamboo tablet. I loaded it up and have been editing pictures just fine. Yesterday I downloaded and installed some actions from MCP's site and messed with a few of them. Today I downloaded and installed the MCP Facebook actions. I was able to mess around with it a bit along with some other action until after a few minutes I reveived a message from Adobe telling me that it has detected that a program closed unexpectedly and asked if I wanted to send an error report, which I have. I gave it a rest for a while but it is still crashing. I can get into the Organizer but when I attempt to go into any of the edit areas, it will load up and after a few seconds I get the message. I am using Windows 7
