Oct 23, 2013LR 5 does not launch automatically when a card is inserted on my Mac. Previous versions did so & the preference to do so is selected.

Lightroom :: 5.0 Fails To Automatically Open Import Dialog When Memory Card Inserted
Jun 16, 2013Lightroom 5.0 fails to detect memory card and open import dialog. This has always worked fine in Lightroom 4, 3,and 2. Same cards, same camera, same iMac using OS X 10.8.4. Manual importing works OK, card is detected just fine.

I can do a full border like that as a transparent png file.However if the shot is tight in and has people from edge to edge, the border/watermark cuts them off. Is there a way to add a watermark/border as the background and resize and rotate an image (on a slant) to fit the middle area.

May 27, 2012When installed recently Lightroom 4.0 deleted all my AutoPlay options and inserted itself in all the option boxes. No other options are available. It also reset my System Restore options to "OFF", deleting all my previous restore points, so I cannot restore my registry to an earlier date.

Oct 20, 2013For some reason, (this started just a few days ago) every once in a while when I launch LR it launches the "new user" splash screen and asks for my country, but then it knows my serial numbers and I launch successfully.
Then upon launch, all of my info is gone...settings, presets, everything unique to me...it does a tour as if I've never used it.Also, my develop presets folder is completely gone...physically gone...and all the other folders are empty.
It happened once and I started all over again with all my purchased presets and my export presets and such but after the 3rd time, I got smart and dragged the whole "user>name>appdata>roaming>adobe>lightroom" folder to another partition and backed it up.
When I have this problem, I just drag that folder back to repopulate those other folders with the info and LR launches just as if nothing happened.

Mar 18, 2012When I insert an SD card in my computer (or flash drive), Lightroom automatically launches. How do I turn this off? It is really interfering with my ability to get other work done on the computer since I put my flash drive in 20 times a day. I have Windows 7, and use Lightroom 3.

I need to be able to run in 32 bit for plug-ins that are not 64 bit.
Lightroom :: Launch In Full Screen Mode On IMac?
Oct 13, 2012LR has just started to launch in full screen mode on my iMac without any opportunity to minimize it or move to another program. I would like it to launch like it used to where I can control the window size but can't seem to figure out how to get back to that capability. I have an iMac running Mountain Lion. LR is the only program effected as Photoshop still launches the old way.

May 10, 2013I have had this problem intermittently for years with different versions and different computers, but this time it is not going away. I need to use the 64 bit version for large files, but it keeps crashing in several different ways.
1- I open the program from the desktop. It shows the spash screen, shows the workspace for a couple of seconds, and then crashes with the message:

I am using the latest version.My video card drivers are totally up to date.I am using a decent computer with 16 gig of ram.I am opening the program as an administrator.I have reset the prefrences too many times to count by deleting the prefrences and holding down ctrl+alt+shift at startup.
2- If by some wild stretch of the imagination I get the program to start with totally cleared prefrences and running as administrator then the program will crash about 75% of the time when using "Save As".If I try to do anything special like create a new folder to put the file into then the chances of a crash increase greatly.
3- If I try to open up a file from Lightroom, even if the files are opening every other way, Photoshop will crash very often.
What is going on here? I have made no changes to my computer, have not installed any new programs, and, as I stated earlier, have everything updated. I even stopped using plugins a long time ago because I did not want to take the chance that it was going to cause this fragile program to crash, so all plugins are uninstalled. Why does this keep happening? When this has happened before everything will work fine for months and then suddenly I cannot get the program to open. When it does open again, for seemingly as unknown a reason as when it stopped, it will work anywhere from a few minutes to another couple of months.
This seems to be a problem that tons of people have, but I have not been able to find any answer other than "Delete Settings" or "Run as Administrator" or "Update *****." What can I do to keep this from happening and to fix it when it happens?
Lightroom :: List Of Recent Catalogs Not Showing In Dialog At Launch?
Dec 2, 2011I have a friend using Lightroom 3 on a Windows 7 PC. She uses multiple catalogs. (one for each client) as do I. Now when she launches LR the list of recent catalogs is empty. Could this be cleared some where? Why do they not show up and will they start showing up again after she opens different catalogs?

Apr 30, 2013Just come back from a photo trip and tried to import my images into Lightroom from my SD Card and Lightroom doesn't see them, all it see's are the images I took on Saturday.
Today I arrived at my location to photograph Pasque Flowers, I took 1 image then realised I hadn't deleted the images from Saturday so I used the 'Delete Images From Card' in my camera's menu and then proceeded to take a few hundred images. During the day I reviewed my images several times, so I know they were definitely saved to the SD Card.
When I got home I tried to import my images in to Lightroom and all Lightroom saw on the card were the images I took last Saturday.
I tried closing down Lightroom and opening it again - nothing, just the images from Saturday!
I tried using the SD Card reader on my iMac - again, just Saturday's images were found.
I then put my card back into my camera and all I could see were my Pasque flower images from today.
So it seems my camera see's todays images yet Lightroom only sees the images from Saturday I had deleted via my camera's menu at the start of today.

Nov 11, 2013I am having issues importing photos from my SD card into LR4. I have 319 pictures on my SD card and LR is only recognizing 283 of them. In the Library module, I can see the pics that LR is not recognizing but they are greyed out. When I put my mouse over the picture it says "This photo has already been imported" but I never imported it. I did format my memory card right before my shoot if that makes a difference. I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. I have tried to restart my computer, restart LR, eject the SD card then put it back in but it's still not working. I attached a screen shot

I tried copying CR2 files to a temporary folder on my desktop but get exactly the same message. Also tried importing iPhone images and get exactly the same message.
This all worked for the first week LR5 was installed and has just started happening after a week
Have no problems at all in Lightroom 4.4

First, I get an error "The following files could not be imported because they could not be read" with a list of all files. This includes files I've successfully imported into LR in the past (tried them as a test, since they didn't get caught by the "new" filter).
So I copied all the images to my HD and tried importing from there, and got a different error: "Could not copy a file to the requested location" for all files.
Settings: "Copy as DNG", "Into Subfolder: By date: 2012/YYYY-MM-DD"
I'm running OSX 10.7.4 and Lightroom 4.1 The files are a mix of JPG, CR2, and MOV

The images appear in the import window, but I get the following message when trying to import: "The following files were not imported because they could not be read." I can move the files over to the hard disk where Lightroom can import them but only by using the "Add" function. This precludes my adding the date to the file name and converting the files to DNG. The funny thing is I can import them into my desktop, but it has less memory and an older processor which during the import often exceeds the memory capabilities and corrupts the image file.

Jan 15, 2014I am a Canon shooter and a seasoned Lightroom user. About a month ago my Mac stopped allowing me to import images from my CF card into Lightroom. I have worked with Mac and Adobe to no avail. At this point I know that my Mac can see the card and will me allow me to download images into iPhoto. It will generate thumbnails in Lightroom, but will tell me that it's unable to read the images when I try a complete import. If I switch users on my Mac to a dummy user, I am able to import the same images off my CF card. To my knowledge, I didn't changed any settings, at least not intentionally.

The files are Nikon NEF raw. What do I need to do to import them? According to Adobe's web site lr4 comes with Nikon D2X raw format already included.
