When downloading a bunch of images, as I am now, I want to edit successive images as downloading continues, and move on to the next image when I'm ready. Instead, LR4 keeps switching to the image currently downloading.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been copying my raw files to two different hard drives using DNG. I discovered last night that the backup file stays in the proprietary raw format. I have been operating under assumption that the backup would be in DNG format. I have been backing up my catalog onto the extra hard drive assuming if my primary drive failed, I would then have the back up hard drive with the backup catalog and things would be fine.
Is the only way to ensure my work is "safe" is to backup the primary hard drive onto a secondary hard drive?Can the dng files along with the catalog be backed up onto an online "cloud" type of service? Will the data be changed so I cannot recopy it and reuse it if my primary drive fails or my house burns down? Any recommendations for a cloud type of back-up service?Is there another methodology that should be employed to keep my photos and catalog data safe from a catastrophe?

I'm having a few issues. I figured you would save it under C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop 7.0PresetsTools , but there is a text file that I can't save it under. It is a TPF File, (don't know what that means). So basically I can download the text, but don't know how to have it show up on photoshop text list.
I try to download the photoshop cs4 trial it opens up the window that says "your download is about to start" or whatever it says, but then it just refreshes itself over and over and never starts the download. Do I just sit there and wait? I waited for about 30 minutes last night and still, no results.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just purchased CS4 upgrade from Adobe. I am using their download manager to download the files. There are 2 files that apparently need to be downloaded. One is 834mb and seems to download just fine but can't be opened. The other is a 1.17 mb file that won't download all the way. It gets to 98% and says (paraphrased) "download manager could not perform integrity test" and "fatal error". Appently CS4 wont load and run wihout this file. The only solution Adobe gives intheir trouble shooting is "try again".

I've downloaded the trial version, this seems to have been ok, I've extracted the files to a desktop Adobe CS3 folder but when I try and open the program nothing (literally) happens! No error messages, start up screen or anything.
My HDD light is active for 30 seconds or so but the end product is zero.
I'm sure my laptop is up to it in terms of system req's etc.
I am trying to move a RAW file I have edited in Lightroom 4.3 over to CS5 for further editing. When I select the photos, then select "Edit in Photoshop" under the Photo menu, Lightroom tells me it can't open any of the photos I have selected. Am I doing something wrong?

I have to say I never converted anything to DNG before. I just tried to convert a few files and all the edits have been discarded.
If I import my raw images into my Lightroom 5 library and edit some of them in CS6 within Lightroom 5 by using the tab. How can I save them from CS6 back into my Lightroom 5 Library after making further adjustments?

We have installed the Adobe Camera Raw 6.5. Both computers are running the same versions of each software, but I don't get the dialogue box on the tower which ask to Edit a Copy which preserves the changes made in LR4.

Yesterday, I opened a catalog and edited a couple hundred images. I applied a preset at import, made a variety of changes, cropped, applied color labels, and the Pick flag. When I was done, last evening, I closed down Lightroom normally, as I do every day.
I did NOT write all my changes to the files on disk, which I normally do at the end of editing, but not ALWAYS...
This morning, I started Lightroom, opened the same catalog, and NONE of my changes from yesterday were preserved. Nothing crashed, nothing closed abnormally, NOTHING unusual happened before, during, or after yesterday's editing. I closed Lightroom and rebooted the system. Reopened, no difference.
I went to the catalog partition and looked in the previews folders. There are MANY previews/files that show changes from yesterday, but in Lightroom I have NONE of what was done... White balance is back to "as shot", ALL the basic, detail, and other changes in develop aren't present, no Pick flags, no color labels, no NOTHING... In the preview files, there are only 45 files changed with today's date (I haven't touched anything, yet), but there are 1104 files changed yesterday, so there are changes in there, but they're NOT showing up in Lightroom.
how I can get the changes to show in LR again?
I'm going to have to go back through and redo all the changes because I don't have time to wait, but is there some way to FORCE Lightroom to read the catalog and previews and put the changes back? Or some other way to recover the changes (I'm presuming the changes actually ARE in the previews)...
I purchased Photoshop CS6 Extended several months ago when I owned a Windows computer. I recently bought my MAC which doesnt have a disc drive, how am I suppose to download Photoshop without the disc?
