I use lightroom 4 whit photoshop CS6 when I send any file from my NAS server whit LR4 to PS6 when I want save it take "Could not save because write access was not granted". But I didn't have this problem whit LR3.6 and PS5. I use mac os x 10.7.4

There is a problem with this programme on Mac computers According to my computer it is updated and has versionb 10.6.8 But this forum has indicated that there is a Version 10.8.4 I have also found that you have to upgrade to CS6 to overcume trhis problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep getting the above error when working off of my xserve in photoshop. It is new in CS5 which we have recently upgraded to. Several people at my office are getting it. Sometimes it displays a random name with afp in front of it (I assume it is the temp name when photoshop is swapping out the new file for the old file.)
It only seems to happen with psd and psb files. I have write access to the volume in question and it doesn't matter if I am the only one accessing the folder or not. I can save as and it seems to work; but it does delete the file.
I have Photoshop Elements 10. Since installing adobe air I keep getting the above response whenever I try saving a new version of a picture. I have since removed Adobe Air but still get the same response each and every time. I have the latest mac and my operating system is Lion X.

View 2 Replies View RelatedError of "Could not save (file name) because write access was not granted. The users are pulling the files from a Mountain Lion server. They all have readwrite access. If they try to save the file in the same directory they get that error but they can save it anywhere else on the sharepoint. If they save it in another directory then reopen it make a change and do a save as they can save it back to the original directory.

The PC crashed and I am now trying to edit that same batch of photos with Elements 11 on my iMac. I am able to access the photos, but when I try to save my edits I receive the message, "Unable to save because write access was not granted." I am not on a networked computer, no one else has access to the photos, and the photos are not open in any other program. iMac and Elements 11 are new to me.

The app iterates through all of the Alignment objects, finding the ones with SuperEleveation, and places the names in a listbox. The user can select one or more of the alignments from the list to have the SuperElevation slope values modified.
The problem I am having is when I get the alignment object to update I get an execption that the object is locked. It's probably something simple but I'm at a loss to where to go next.Here as a brief code snippet:

During import of files into LR and you can rename them and write the gps data into the new file name. Is there any real use for this feature? Writing the coordinates into the file name creates just a long name and what else...?
A review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT3 says, that their gps programm gives not only the data, where the picture was taken, but the sights in the area as well. Is this program available outside the Panasonic environment, too? (I'm using Nikon).
I have to use Word to write captions to be sure I don't make typos and spelling errors. It sure would be nice to have spell check in the Caption/ Descrition field and Keywords. PhotoMechanic offers this. I really would prefer to just use Lightroom alone.

I discovered that all of the photos on my usb hard drive were either write protected or the image type was not supported-they're all .jpg. I had done some Copyright stuff on a few photos the day before...fooled around with import and export and some other exploring.
I have converted a large number of Canon and Nikon raw files to DNG using Adobe DNG Converter (version 8.2.0.94).
Using Lightroom 5.2 I wanted to change metadata in these master DNG files. I import the files into a catalog, select all, modify the metadata, then invoke the Metadata->Save Metadata to Files... For many (but not all) of the files I get the following message:
"Could not write metadata. Unknown file formats."
The DNG files reside on a Synology NAS server. If I copy them to a local disk I do not get the above error. But I would like to make metadata changes to the files on the NAS.
I do not have problems importing or viewing DNG files from the NAS. Why does LR 5 have problems writing DNG metadata to the NAS? How can I fix this?
I am having trouble with reading xmp files.My assistant edited photos in Lightroom 4. I am trying to view the work in Lightroom 3.I cannot see his edits.We have done metadata>read metadata files
We have done library>previews>render standard size previewsAlso set the catalog settings to automatically write changes to xmp.
How does the “Automatically write changes into XMP” setting relate to DNGs? If I keep this unchecked, is metadata still automatically saved into DNGs?

This is great when we are on our home network, but if I want to work on an image in LR while I am away from home I have to remember to make local copies (to my laptop HD) in advance.
I have a static IP and can access the required directories and files through a browser or VPN when I'm away from home. I was wondering if it's possible to give LR the web address of the directory I want to use as my library so that my photos are available to me anywhere so long as I have a web connection?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7, Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5. My workflow is to download in LR, some editing, and then to finish in PS-
The first problem I saw first in LR when certain files had the message "Access denied to this file". I could not open, edit, move, nor copy these files, although other photos taken on the same day and downloaded at the same time were unaffected. These files can not be opened in any other program.
The second problem has happened to me twice now. I use two external hard drives - "Freecom F" and "Elements G". There is very little on G-only backups.
On opening LR I see that "G" has all the folders from "F" although they are all "missing". "F" drive does not appear at all in library mode, but if I try to import, then "F" appears, but all the images have the message "Appears to have been already imported to LR".

I'm attempting to add a caption to a few images while in "Library" mode.
The help file directs me to do it with the 'metadata panel' . I don't see it in my current display so going to "Windows/panels/metadata" and click that. But nothing happens... when I open the menu again I see no check mark in front of "metadata"
I also tried going to "Develop" mode and then using "Windows/panels/metadata", but again checking that does nothing.
Trying the KB combination Ctrl + 4 appears to do nothing as well.I may just not be recognizing the panel when I see it, but I've found nothing that says "metadata" on the current lightroom display window when in library mode.
Possibly I'm in some mode that is preventing the metadata panel from displaying, so tried closing and reopening LR. But closing and reopening appears to have worked not one whit.
