With LR5, when I play a slideshow, the colors of the pictures are weird, something like desaturate and darken. Do some of you have the same issue? On a french LR forum, at least one person does.
View 5 RepliesI been using photoshop since version 6. Now I have the latest CS. I'm doing a website proposal for a client. I spent countless hours working on the project with vibriant colors however when I save, and it can be any format from a PSD to JPG BMP TIF so on, when I view the photo in ACDsee or even just internet explorer (jpg of course) it seems as loss a little color. Like it was de-saturated a bit. Now theres not alot of difference but I like to get exactly what I see in photoshop to what I see in a browser, windows fax and picture viewer, or acdsee.
Now I been playing with the color settings and my save as option is ICC profile Adobe RGB (1998). even if I uncheck it theres no difference.
I do get an error when opening the photo "Embedded Profile Mismatch"
Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998) working sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and three options to choose from in which neither makes any difference (I do understand I can turn this message off but it seems to be linked to the problem I'm having)
I changed my working space under Color settings to Adobe RGB (1998) and the message doesn't appear again, HOWEVER it still makes no difference. Plus I get a Maximum Compatibiliy message. This version is giving me many headaches yet I love the new shadow and color filter additions
why is cmarea calibration darken out in lightroom 4.4? Why can't I change the settings, I have a nikon D5100 camera, the software image come out lighter.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on some files for print, I started off with the default CMYK profile (US web coated SWOP v2). Everything looked great, my colors were bold and exactly as I wanted them. But, when I export tiffs (as my printer requested) they look very washed out and desaturated when I preview them on my computer or open them with my default image viewer. This is also true of the .PSD preview. If the same tiff file is loaded back into Photoshop the colors look great again. I have the same problem if I try other file formats too. My printer is having the same issue with my tiffs and the prints are not looking as they should.
I'm guessing that only Photoshop on my system is able to interpret the color information properly but I know very little about color profiles and modes. Should I have chosen this CMYK profile? Is there anything I can change or check to make the exported files more reliable?
All bright, vibrant blues are appearing as muddy and desaturated. I've changed the transparency blend space, the color settings, and did everything else I could think of including restarting the program.I've looked everywhere for a solution to this, but the only thing I found suggested changing the transparency blend space...which I tried several times.

I work for a marketing co. that's primarily print, and after uploading my images to our online storage interface (we use Egnyte), the jpegs appear "milky" or lighter and desaturated than what they do on my screen and in Photoshop.
I've tested tiff, jpeg and pdf and they all look fine on my screen, but the jpeg and tiff appear "milky" only on my collegue's screen, but the pdf is fine. She is on a Mac, I'm on PC, and no matter how I open the images, whether I redownload them from the web, or open them straight from my hd, they appear just fine.
I imported pictures to Adobe Lightroom and exported them to my memory card. Now my memory card is broke! Is there any way to retrieve those pictures from Lightroom. Right now they are saying missing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe way I like to darken an image of a photo is that instead of using the burn tool, I create a new layer, set the opacity low (say 15) and then paint in the areas that I want to make darker. This gives me increased flexibility when I want to go back and fix what I did because I'm not altering the original layer.
Here's my problem though. One thing I like to do is to blur that layer using a gaussian blur to soften the edges of the area I am darkening. That works nicely but inevitably after applying the gaussian blur I want to come back and change something. That's a mess once the layer has already been blurred. So the work-around I've found is to save my darken layer and hide it from view (using the eye beside the layer) and then duplicate the layer and apply the gaussian blur. Then when I need to modify the area that I am darkening, I delete the visible blurred layer, change the invisible non-blurred version, then reduplicate and reblur. And that works.
What I think I want is some sort of "blurring" layer. Is there anything like that out there?
Lots of times I want to blur a mask a little and that gets to be a real pain. The steps I use to save my non-blurred version is to copy the mask to selection, then selection to path then change the path name to be Mask: (layer name). And then when I need to edit the non-blurred version, I delete the mask, change my path to a selection, then add mask from selection. then make my change, then reblur. Again it works but its difficult.
I have JPG images that I will import into PSE and the lines are black but very narrow. Is there an operation I can perform that will "darken" the lines? In other words, widen them?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a pencil animation that I did a while back that is a .mov file. The animation itself is too light and you can hardly see it. I opened the file in Photoshop and opened the animation tab.
I tried to convert it to frame animation so that I could unify all of the frames and edit just one using the brightness / contrast adjustment. Nothing works. It keeps on just editing one frame at a time.
Some years ago I used to use an old version of PS at work. It was before the CSs but I can't remember the version. When I used the clone tool it would simply clone the area with the same tonal depth and I used it a lot. I now have CS6 and when I use the tool whatever I clone will darken over existing tones, as layers, and not blend in. Is there a setting so it clones at the same tonal depth and not layer-up?

How do you get consistent darkness level?
The slanted lines are so light they are hard to see.
With PS CS, I have noticed in Lab color space the lighten and darken blending modes for layers are disable. Also, if an RGB picture uses them, they are converted to normal blending mode upon conversion to Lab. Any idea why this limitation? And any way to circumvent it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've attached a DWG and a PDF of a 3D drawing where some of the annotation elements are plotting too light. Other elements, like the Title Block are dark enough but I can't figure out what the difference is.
I know this is based on layer properties, but when I compare the lines and text that print dark on FRAME 070 with the lines that print light on frame DIMS-tbl, I don't see any difference in linetype, lineweight, plotstyle, etc.
The PDF was created with the DWG to PDF.pc3 Printer/Plotter, but I have tried several others and they all produce the results.
Why does my .tif aerial color darken and blue patches appear on it when it gets rotated, either thru user rotation or thru coordinate transformation?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe pic on the right shows what I'd like to change. Problem is the borders can be tedious to do one line at a time. That is brush set at 1 pixel wide-dark gray. Then draw one map line. Then change to light gray to do center of line then draw right next to other line without messing alignment up. Then finally going back to dark gray to draw once again to other side of border line.
What would take a pro 5 minutes because he would know the shortcuts would take me hours to do these map changes. So could anyone tell me how to create a custom brush 3 pixels wide that would have the center pixel be lighter gray while the outer 2 pixels of line would be darker. I know how to use color picker to match with what's already in the game so you could skip that. I would just like to know how to create a custom brush that could do multiple colors in one stroke. I'm using XP and CS2 BTW. If anyone would like the targa files that make up these 3 regions in the game to mess around with I will send them.
An image of a tree with fine branches in winter against a sky I want to darken. My goal is to create a duplicate layer of the image to darken but where the tree is transparent so I can put the darkened layer on top of the orignal image with an undarkened tree. Before my computer crashed, I used a plugin for this called, I thought, Alpha Mask. In this example, by selecting a spot on the tree I could make either everything the color of the tree or everything not disappear into transparency. But I can't seem to find the plugin now. I did look at the index of plugins and found some listings under Alpha, but none are described as the tool I need here (best I can tell).
