Lightroom :: Basic Column In Develop Section Is Not Present
Nov 16, 2013
the basic column in the develop section of lightroom is not there, I tried the advice to right click (ctrl button on my computer) on one of the headings, but nothing showed up.
I went to develop a photo yesterday, and suddenly noticed the Develop "Basic" column (has Treatment: Color, B/W, then White Balance, then Presence...all the stuff between toNE CUrVE and Crop/Red eye, etc. I can't imagine what I accidently hit to make this disappear, but I have once again tried Lr Help, touched everywhere on the screen and can't seem to restore this part of develop. It happened once before when I lost the "Regions" on the tone curve. All I had to do was click the little box to the right, and it got restored. I don't see anything like this for the Basic section, tho'.
I'm using macs running mountain lion. I've updated two computers to Lightroom 4.2. One shows the new form for the basic panel of the develop module, e.g., including the brightness slider. The other installation reverted to the Lightroom 3 panel, and I can't find a preference that affects this.
I recenlty upgraded from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 5.3 with no problems. However, now after 3 weeks of use, my entire 'basic' panel in Develop has disappeared. I no longer have Wb tool, or any sliders for temp, tint, exposure, black, white, shadows, clarity, etc. If I am going to lose a panel, I don't want it to be this one!
I have just downloaded LR5 & trying out the develop mode. Don't know how it happened but lost the 'basic' menu in develop mode, how can I gewt this back?
I was editing a photo in Lightroom 5 the other day, and I thought I hit something, but all of a sudden the basic panel was missing. Suggestion was to right click on one of the panels and it should have an option that says basic, in order to get the basic panel back. That is what I did, but what it does is just opens and closes the panels. I don't know how to get my basic panel back.
setting up presets for making adjustments to more than one image, I keep hearing about doing that by way of the "quick develop" panel, but I don't like that panel... its a bit too basic or something... I don't like making settings where I can't see a bit more about what I'm doing.
Is there a way to create presets when in the Develope mode? I don't see any clues on the the basic panel, but hopefully I'm missing something. Is there not a way to record the settings I've made inside the basic panel into a preset?
Preforming basic color correction in the develop module. Often I see an image is just a little Cyan or Red, how do you correct. The only controls are blue/yellow or magenta/green.
When a photo comes into develop section, initially the Basic sliders are shown in the new 4.2 choices with the sliders centered. As soon as the photo is ready to edit, the Basic section reverts to the Lightroom 3 choices.
I upgraded to LR4 from LR3. After opening LR4 I realized that the Develop/Basic menu sliders are identical to LR3, i.e., Exposure, Recovery, Fill Light, Blacks, Contrast, Clarity, Vibrance and Saturation.
I create a column graph, I set my column styles, modify the text and other attributes to how I want them to look but if I change the data the whole graph keeps reverting back to the basic chart. Is there anyway to stop this because its really irritating when I need to create a set of 20 graphs.
“Basic assembly” is not drawn correctly in the section view,In the screenshot below, the “Basic assembly” is not drawn correctly in relation to the existing ground. What might be the reason that it is not closed with the existing ground?
The main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window. How do I recover them? I'm working with Lightroom 5.3. The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).
