Lightroom :: Getting Black Screen On LR4 Slideshow Export?
May 6, 2013I have tried twice to export a slideshow of 373 photos from LR4, using the 1080P preset. An mp4 file of 3.21 GB is created and it opens in a Quicktime player screen. The player shows 40 minutes of playtime and appears to start, but no images come up on the black screen. The images were created from Nikon raw files, and I am using an iMac running OS X 10.7.5. I am using QuickTime Player 10.1 for playback, but I've also tried QuickTime Player 7 with the same results. What gives?

Jun 19, 2013When I preview or play a slideshow in Lightroom 5 I see a black screen. I've tried it using various settings, images, lengths, and with the show saved or unsaved, all with the same result. In a preview I can see the show advancing through the slides; all remain black.
Sometimes (unpredictably) the screen isn't black, but rather two colors or color washes separated diagonally.
There are no videos in the shows. (A black screen for a slideshow with a video as the first slide is a known issue mentioned in the Lightroom Journal.)
Exporting to pdf works properly. An exported video shows as a black screen.
(Mac Pro, OS X 10.7.5, Radeon X1900 XT video card)

Nov 15, 2011Have just installed VSx4 trial version. I previously used x3 with no problems. I've created a new project, imported an AVI and it plays fine in the preview window, in either Clip or Project mode. However, as soon as I pause it the image goes black.
This makes any kind of editing nearly impossible. I don't get the problem with the pre-installed sample video "V21". So I guess it is clip related? It plays and pauses fine in media player.

Aug 12, 2012My slideshows are quite lengthy and run for longer than a standard song. If I fit to the music, the slides change too quickly. Is it possible to somehow have multiple songs that run back to back ?? It would be great if more than one song could be fitted to the duration of the slideshow. I like to have a decent time length before each slide changes.

Sep 3, 2013Like the title says, every time I click on "Slideshow", LR5 crashes - immediately (it does start to set up the screen for this module, but never completes). I tried LR4.4 and it works fine. I recently upgraded (about 3 weeks ago) to LR5 from 4.4, and I haven't had any significant problems otherwise.

Feb 17, 2014I get a black capture screen when capturing with CS6 on a Windows 7 machine. I'm capturing through Fire wire from DV tape, via the VCR function of a Canon XL2 camera. I have tried restarting, etc.; also toggled the "preview video" radio from the Settings button in the capture Window. Nothing works and I need to be able to preview my video as I'm capturing. It is not good enough that the video actually captures fine. Also, I am forced to turn off Device Control in order to capture because it kicks me out of every capture (an immediate message of : "no frames captured") unless I do.

Lightroom :: 5.2 Crashes In Slideshow Preview?
Oct 7, 2013Is there a limit to the number of pictures in a slideshow ? Looking for a reason to my problem :
I have successfully done a series of slideshows of my latest trip ; 4 slideshows of about 300 pictures each. Includes both pictures and video clips . Works perfectly !
Than I created a new slideshow within that collection incorporating all the slides of the 4 sub slideshows at the start . Then I went through the slideshow and deleted ( removed out of the collection ) about half of the pictures : my aim was to have a shorter version in one slideshow ipo the 4 individual slideshows with about twice the total length
However , the newly created slideshow will not run : clicking on "preview" or "play " will give me only for a few seconds the screen " preparing preview ", then a black screen appears and the error message " Adobe has stopped working ". I am kicked out of LR and Windows 7 screen comes up " checking for a solution to your problem ".
I am running without other issues LR5.2 64 bit on Windows 7; and as I said , the other slideshows within same collection run fine

Sep 10, 2013My slideshows will not play, all I get is blank screen that will not exit, I have to go to task manager just to get out of it. My previews are slow and don't play right, and cuts the music out before done. I am using Lightroom 5 now, I used to not have problems at all, and then before I got Lightroom 5 I had trouble with my print module, and then now slideshow module, I need Lightroom for College, I am at a loss as to what to do next.

Sep 7, 2013In LR4 i didn't get any problem but with LR5 some functions linked to the slideshow turn to a "blank" screen.The problem appears when I try an impromptu slideshow in the library or a play, a preview in the slideshow section.
I reset the default setting in LR, I download the last driver for my graphic card but without success. With LR5.2 RC this is the same.

Sep 20, 2013I switched to lightroom 5. There is one change from 4, which I like to be undone and maybe there is a way to achive this via some setting. When I am in slide show mode with full screen the next and previous slide cannot be reached any longer by the left and right arrow. This used to be possible and it is very good if one wants to test a slide show without waiting for the next picture for 5 seconds (or whatever the delay is). It is also nice to have a quick possibility to have a look at the previous picture again.
Is there a way to reenable the arrow keys?

Sound is blank unless you start the preview from the very first slide, w hich is annoying for large slide shows where you need to time the music.
