Is there a form to set my Photoshop version 13.1 in order to use my GPU features or there is a huge difference between versions that doesn't allow me to use the GPU features?

Current Version of Lightroom: 3.4.1
Overview of Problem
When starting Lightroom the application is responsive and loads quickly. Everything appears to be normal until either the "Import Button" is clicked or the import function is accessed via the File/Import Photos menu path. When either of these routes are taken to import a photo Lightroom becomes very slow to respond. The "Import Button" will cause Lightroom to take 30 seconds to open the "Select a source" screen, however, once a source (resident hard drive file containing .jpg photos) is selected Lightroom attempts to crash then recovers itself and after 30 seconds the source will display. Attempting to access another like file in the menu structure will cause another 30 second delay.
Attempting to click away from the "Select a source" screen back to the main Lightroom parent screen will cause an immediate white screen with "Lightroom Not Responding" on the main program bar. This will happen with a click on the Parent or when using the Cancel button. Once again, Lightroom will recover itself from the crash and eventually load the Parent screen.
Attempting to once again return to the Import screen will start the entire process again.
At this point Lightroom is unstable and unusable.
What I Have Done
Action: Uninstalled Lightroom 1.4.1 Result: Bug Still Active
Action: Uninstalled Lightroom 3.4.1 and Re-Installed Result: Bug Still Active
Action: Updated to Lightroom 3.5 Result: Bug Still Active
Action: Completely Uninstalled Lightroom 3.5 and 3.4.1 deep enough (registry and every Lightroom associated file) to require Serials to be re-entered Result: Bug Still Active
Additional Actions: I have attempted intallations with all external USB devices disconnected and connected.
Note: Although there are only 4 Action items detailed I have attempted many different ways to resolve this Bug but with no success.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have been using Lightroom 4.2 with our Canon camera for over a year. We uploaded some pictures on Friday and it worked as usual. We tried uploading pictures on Sunday and lightroom does not respond. We keep getting an error message stating "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit is not responding. If you close the program, you might lose information". Nothing changed with the camera settings or lightroom. After we couldn't get it to upload, we updated to lightroom 4.4, and it still doesn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI went to startup LR5.2 (local) and it all of a sudden did not get past the splash screen. It hung with a "Not Responding" in the title bar. I went to a backup file and the program seemed to operate normally. I did another backup to make sure I saved a good catalog. Today the same thing happened. I again went back to the backup and that did not seem to work. I have tried a number of things including deleting all of the preview files and upgrading to version 5.3.
Up until the other day LR5.2 was operating without any problems. One more thing. I finally got it to work by deleteling all of the preview files and going back to my backup. It starts up and seems to be ok; however, when I close the program and try to re-start .. it again does not get beyond the splash screen.
I have subscribed to the CC version of PS + LR but I am only using PS - have not downloaded LR5 for CC.
I did increase the RAW space to 30 Gig and there is 119 Gig of space on the hard drive. I use an i5 processor and run the 64 bit version of LR.
all of a sudden I am unable to use basic editing on photos. Why?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the DEVELOP mode on the right side of the screen there are functions for TONE, DETAIL, EFFECTS etc.The top one is BASIC.Somehow my "BACIC" has disappeared from the list. How did that happen and how do I get it back? I can't edit without it.I can CROP, STRAIGHTEN, SPOT, etc, but not FILL LIGHT, CONTRAST, etc. There doesn't seem to be a icon to get it back either?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using macs running mountain lion. I've updated two computers to Lightroom 4.2. One shows the new form for the basic panel of the develop module, e.g., including the brightness slider. The other installation reverted to the Lightroom 3 panel, and I can't find a preference that affects this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying out the free trial of LR4. My OS is Windows 7. The program is constantly freezing up and posting "Not Responding" at the top of my screen. I really dolike the program and would like to purchase it at the end of the trial, but only if the "Not Responding" stops.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using LR5.2 successfully for a few months now but all of a sudden I cannot see the basic settings in the Development Module. Specifically, I am not able to change Color Temperature, exposure, recovery, Clarity (very important to me), etc. I shoot RAW 100%, so I wonder if i accidentally hit some wrong key to make those basic features hidden?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just started using LR4.3. After importing about 1000 photos and establishing my collections of chosen images, I noticed that every image had the same settings already in the Basic panel. These are temp:5500, tint:4, exposure .28, contrast: 24 and Vibrance: 6. All other settings are 0 or some other LR default. I do not recall telling LR to do this on import, and in fact, don't know how to do that. Am I forgetting that I did that? Also, I set preferences to use the default specific to my camera serial number. MIght LR be making these settings based on that selection?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI went to develop a photo yesterday, and suddenly noticed the Develop "Basic" column (has Treatment: Color, B/W, then White Balance, then Presence...all the stuff between toNE CUrVE and Crop/Red eye, etc. I can't imagine what I accidently hit to make this disappear, but I have once again tried Lr Help, touched everywhere on the screen and can't seem to restore this part of develop. It happened once before when I lost the "Regions" on the tone curve. All I had to do was click the little box to the right, and it got restored. I don't see anything like this for the Basic section, tho'.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recenlty upgraded from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 5.3 with no problems. However, now after 3 weeks of use, my entire 'basic' panel in Develop has disappeared. I no longer have Wb tool, or any sliders for temp, tint, exposure, black, white, shadows, clarity, etc. If I am going to lose a panel, I don't want it to be this one!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was editing a photo in Lightroom 5 the other day, and I thought I hit something, but all of a sudden the basic panel was missing. Suggestion was to right click on one of the panels and it should have an option that says basic, in order to get the basic panel back. That is what I did, but what it does is just opens and closes the panels. I don't know how to get my basic panel back.
