View 1 RepliesHow do I see a tagged image from the camera (tagged using the lock button, to remind me of a image I want to find quickly) once imported into Lightroom? This is possible to do in Photomechanic, as I can see all of the tagged images from the camera once opened in Photomechanic. Yet so far I have not found a way to allow me to do this in Lightroom so far.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know that I have on occasion gotten stupid and selected "Remove" after marking images as rejected, when I meant to select Delete From Disk. I believe this means I have image files on my hard drive that no longer appear in the Lightroom catalog, but I don't want them at all. I meant to move them to the trash bin, but, like I said, just hit the wrong button for some reason.
Is there any way I can search for images still in my folders on my hard drive (where I save them when imported in Lightroom) that no longer appear in my catalog? I'd like to clean up my hard drive before transfering images to a new computer.
Say I have a keyword "parent" and a nested keyword (subtag) "child" under that keyword. Some photos are tagged with "parent", other are (only) tagged with "child".
Is it now possible to view all photos tagged "parent", but not see the "child" photos at the same time? Either using the keyword list or text filter, I always get to see the "child" photos also...
I know I can exclude certain keywords when searching (ie. "parent !child"), but in my case I'm having about 20 child tags, so it's not very practical to write all 20 keywords as exclusions.
I have a large collection of illustrations (in the thousands) and I often find duplicates within the collection, which I have to tediously identify one at a time.
I'm interested in a deduping application that will not only identify duplicates, but also be able to find similar illustrations with slight variations (that have been altered using photoshop). The collection is entirely comprised of photoshop tiff files.
I am a casual photoshop user. I need to design a tagged pdf documents which is accessible to use with Dynamic PDF. When I searched online, lot of people are using Indesign but I have never used it. So, is it possible to create tagged pdf document from PS or I need to learn Indesign?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am importing thousands of images, and some of them are .png, .bmp and .gif files. I understand that they will not show up in LR, however, is there anyway to find them in these folders using LR? OR do I need to search for them through Mac OS and do something with them that way?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn photoshop elements 11, 4 people have vanished from the "All people" view. The actual photos are still tagged with their names, but I can't use the feature to see all photos with a particular person as they are neither in the "all people" view, nor the list of people tags. It so happens that these 4 names were previously used as tags in my previous version of Elements 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created GPX files on my phone, loaded them into the map module and selected the corresponding photos. When I select "Auto-tag selected photos" from the pop-up menu where I loaded the track I get an error saying "No Matching Photos" I have checked the track data and the times of the photos and they do match - the track runs from 12:32 to 4:37 on 9-13-2012 and the photos were all taken within this time frame.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased Lightroom 4 and have a Canon 600D with a Sigma 18-250 lens.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from version 8 to 11. I tagged many images with people tags. I had 4 people tags. After importing, the images still show the tags. However, under people view only two of the tags resulted in stacked photos. The other two tags report "no people exist in this group" if the tag group is selected. Why aren't the photos stacked for the people tags I prviously had tagged? How do I find all images with each of hte tags?

View 3 Replies View Relatedfor rendering purposes (we work on stop-motion-stop films) in our company's processing workflow, I export many different image sequences with 1000 or more JPG images from many different RAW NEF folders. All these folders with 1000s of RAW NEF files get developed and then exported as JPGs
- into folders on various volumes on servers. so other people then further render from these folders in AE or other hosts.
sometimes however, after a week or month, for whatever reason we need to re-develop original RAW NEFs of a folder of a specific set in it's original lightroom folder (from where those JPGs had been exported from).
By knowing a filename like for example _DSC7561.jpg out of a JPG export folder I then would like to quickly find and locate the original folder within the LR4 library, containing e.g. the file _DSC7561.nef from where that JPG was exported from (for specific reasons I can not change all those export JPG folders are on different volumes than the original folders with RAW file sequences).
So, when I sit in front of LR4 on the RAW development stations is there a way to find
- folders in the lightroom catalogue in volumes or over volumes (by their known folder name or part of their foldername)?
- filenames or part of filenames in folders over volumes, or within a volume?
it is so time consuming to scroll all folders to find an original folder with RAWfiles from where we developed and exported JPGs. we keep those RAW folders not only for the original RAW files of course, but also because of the XMP sidecar files with all the development changes. sometimes we even store snapshots or several stages of XMP processing to them.
Of course LR4 offers search for a filename within a folder via CMD+F, but we don't need that actually.
we need CMD+F for the library search for foldernames or folders over a volume at least, but better would be various volumes.
are there any LR4 plugins or tools that solve this? Or did I oversee something?
I can of course search for any folder containing a file _DSC7561.nef outside of LR4 in finder with tools like "Tembo" or "Find any File" easily, but that don't jumps me to the folder in the LR4 library, with all my developement changes.
PS: we don't use keywords, it is not possible with TB of images each week but we use specific sequencing names for image file sequences and structured folders of course.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am planning to move from a PC Windows 7-based system to a MAC. As part of this move I will need to migrate Photoshop Elements from PE 8 in Windows to PE 12 on MAC. Back in July, I previously asked what steps would be necessary to migrate to PE 11 on MAC, but I delayed making the move (waiting for the new MacBook Pro) and will now be migrating to PE 12.
Do I still follow the same steps for a (hopefully!) smooth transition of my tagged photos and catalog? i.e., migrate from PE 8 (Windows) to PE 12 (Windows). Then from PE 12 (Windows) to PE 12 (MAC). Are there any gotchas or caveats that I should be aware of? I've read a few horror stories in various places and am nervous.
I have a family reunion photo from 1925 that I'd like to print and distribute with all of the 20 or so individuals tagged names visable. If this is possible, I'd distribute one clean photo and one photo with names. Can I make this happen with Elements 11?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLightroom 3.6 is not finding my newly exported .jpg files when I use Synchronize Folder. This has been working for me since I got LR many months ago, but today after I make adjustments to a .cr2 file and export the file to a .jpg file in the same folder, synchronize folder isn't finding the new .jpg files. Interestingly I used Windows Live Photo Gallery to copy/resize one of the .jpg files I'd exported, and LR *does* find that file, just not the originally exported one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have very little knowledge in complex Autolist routines and routine to do the following:
I would like to be able to provide a Prefix and/or Suffix via dialog then pick any line of text or multiple lines of text and have it concentrate. For example: Prefix: First Floor Suffix: M100. I pick the room text on an arch floor plan "Mechanical room" and the second line "100" The result will be "First Floor Mechanical room 100 M100".
But lets take it a final step further; once condensed, I want it added to a perticular tag attribute in a block I inserted.
Example of how I would use it. I insert a symbol for an addressable smoke detector that has several tags; one of them being Location. I would use this routine to gather the information provided by the Arch floor plan and join it with the block attribute for exporting later for use in the Fire Alarm Panel Programming.
attached is a sample block with the attributes.
I have about 11,000 pix in PSE 11 and growing, all of a large family. Using 'Add People" in organizer worked well up till I reached 9,000 pix. I get the msg that all faces have been tagged. I've been scanning about 300 pix from our old albums and always try to add people after each group. I am not even getting the "Is this a person" message. I can go to each batch and manually answer "Who is this? Database size problem??
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I would like to start improving my images vs removing the unwanted images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLightroom will not display preview images during import of raw images. Any images in other formats display fine but with raw images I get a gray window the size of the preview image and the words "preview unavailable for this file".
Running Windows XP 64, Lightroom 3.3.
In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

This I have acheived using sAIUIDUtils->SetArtNameOrUID()
For retreiving the art from document, I want to use the ai::UniCodeString names of the art.
error = sAIUIDPool->GetPool("anyName", &pool); // The SDK reference says the 1st parameters is ignored, but error = 1346458189 after this steperror = sAIUIDPool->NewUIDREF(pool, myUnicodeName, &uidRef);error = sAIUIDUtils->GetReferencedArt(uidRef, &foundArt);

What is wrong with the above code to acheive : "Get the art, knowing its name" ? Is there any better way to do so ?
This unicode name is the one which we see in the attribute name "id" in the SVG format of the AI document.
I need to find a photo that I scanned a year ago. It was scanned with a simple HP desktop scanner. I used photoshop CS to work with this photo, now I have photoshop CS2. When I try to open this image, it says that it doesn't recognize the format. The CS2 can't open it. I tried reinstalling the old photoshop and when I try to open this image, it isn't highlighted to open.
