I have installed some new fonts in my windows font folder, but they are not showing up in illustrator. I am using a cloud version of illustrator and have tried closing and restarting to no avail.
View 2 RepliesI have a Mac on 10.7 running cs6 Illustrator. I have been able to load fonts into Font Book but when opening the document I get the error below. This is only happening on one mac out of 6 that use this font. I have tried fixing permissions and clearing the font cash.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMost of the designs require some unique font to get the desired effect. Most likely, we'd search the web for one, download it, use it and discard it. We don't wanna keep all these single-use fonts installed. It would be great if we can load a font in to PDN by just browsing for it using a file dialog. I think Photoshop lets you drag and drop a font to its main window and till let you use it for that session. When you exit the application, the font is unloaded.
Can this be supported? Of course, there is a workaround: Use a font manager app. But, I think it's a pretty good feature to have in a image editor never the less

The font Arial Narrow is installed, MS Word / Framemaker pick it up and you can use it, but Illustrator and InDesign won't see the font. So my user can't use Arial Narrow as the family so can't select the font for bold/italics/underline. He can only choose narrow as a sub style of the Arial family, but Arial Narrow has been installed seperately.

A customer specific font has been installed in Windows and shows up in Notepad, Microsoft Office 2010 and other programs including Photoshop CS6. For InDesign I had to copy it to the "Programdirectory"Fonts folder and this worked fine. Only Illustrator CS6 doesn't show this Font (a TrueType font "cust.ttf") as available when I want to format a text with it. I've searched Google and Adobe but no luck so far. Based on other articles I also renamed the "IllustratorFonts.lst file - but also to no avail...

For some fonts(not all the fonts) , Style name is comming as empty string, however for other fonts its working. Not sure why its working for some fonts and not for others. Other font properties are coming fine for all fonts.When its failing, result is not kNoErr, but i dont know that how to get the exact error?

I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.

I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
I have put some new fonts into C:/windows/fonts and they have come up in other programs e.g. Microsoft office but they are not showing up in photoshop.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Adobe creative suite (CS5). However, upon attempting to install it, I discovered I was unable to install it in the desired folder as no options are given to change the default location that is given.

Clicking on the bar yielded no selection window, and attempting to type the folder name did not change the default location. I am bewildered as I was able to change the folder during an earlier install (half an hour ago). Checking and unchecking the photoshop, flash and other component ticks make no difference as I am not able to select the desired folder regardless.

I have also attempted exiting and re-booting install. It does not make a difference.
I installed some True Type fonts on my machine the other day and I noticed that Photoshop does not include them in its list of fonts. Other True Type fonts that I installed in the past are recognized and included.
Is there some way I can get Photoshop to "see" fonts when it does not do so on its own?
I sure would like to be able to use the fonts with Photoshop. I know that some of the ones I installed worked on previous versions of PS.

I had uninstalled and re-installed the program twice now with no change. My operating system is Windows XP Pro.
Roboto font (by Google) is installed on Windows 7 system, but the regular weight is missing in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign (both CS6 and CC, and same issue in Windows 8).

All weights are installed properly, the only one not listed in adobe programs is Roboto-Regular.ttf.
I took the Windows 8.1 upgrade, and now AutoCad LT 2013 crashes just as the window starts to open up. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and have applied SP1.1 and SP2.

I went to use it within my sketch and it didn't display as being available.

I was just wondering if there's a way to make Photoshop recognize newly installed fonts. When I install a new font, I have to restart Photoshop several times before I'll see the new font(s) in the list. It seems like there must be a better way.
