Illustrator :: How To Create Color Separated Layered TIFF File
Oct 1, 2013I need to create a color separated layered tiff file from my Illustrator document. I saved it as a color separated .ps file in hopes that I could then convert that to a tiff. My problem is that when I save the .ps file it saves the color separations, but in grayscale. Is there a way to convert an Illustrator file to a color separated tiff?

Sep 15, 2007As you now can make EPS documents from photoshop and keep the vector shapes as vectors, it would be nice to be able to use old logos you have that are in eps or illustrator format and make shapes out of them so they also can be included in a Photoshop EPS.
But I can not see that there are any options to add eps ot illustrator files to the Shapes, and once a eps is opened in Photoshop it is rasterized.

Jun 5, 2012How to make the grid (the file grid - not artwork) translucent. I'm working on icons, so I'm zoomed in very close, and I'd like to have a translucent grid over top of my artwork. An opaque grid is far too cumbersome and intrusive and I can't see my work, but don't want something totally transparent - I'd like to see it. Just maybe 10% translucency. Any better way to go about something similar?

Nov 27, 2012Every day at least a dozen times I print spot color separations for film through the print dialogue to pdf, and every single time I have to either print the spot colors one at a time, or open the multipage pdf in Acrobat and use the clunky extract page function to get separate files. Is there any way to just get it to print separate pdfs?
Then I have to rename each sep to have the color in the file name. If there was a way to automate that?
Illustrator :: CS5 - Cannot Make Custom Size When Printing A PostScript File
Jun 28, 2010I've recently picked up Illustrator CS5, when I save a file (or print) as a PostScript file. My aim is to convert the file to a PDF using Distiller and in the Print dialogue box, the PPD field in past versions says something along the lines of Adobe PDF 8.0. In CS5, I do not have the option to select that from the PPD drop down menu (Nor can I find the file to add to the list). Additionally, I can't make a 'custom sized pdf,' only preset paper sizes. I've had to resort to opening my files in CS3 to convert them to PostScript files. I forsee this becoming a problem once I start diving into some of Illustrator CS5's new features.
I get the feeling the program didn't install with an Adobe PDF plug-in and I can't seem to find a substitute online that isn't from 1999 (!). Is there a way to get that plug-in file that my copy of CS3 is using into my CS5?

We are looking for a flexible way to make the vector file from a predefined pattern.
Like the example below, when resizing the outer rectangle (= the window), the number of squares should be adjusted automatically. And the squares need to be centered in the window all the time.
I'm not such an expert in using patterns in illustrator, but i believe there is no way to define settings that control the pattern i believe? Like pattern brushes in illustrator, in which settings can be set like scale the pattern or scale the space inbetween, center the pattern,...
The square pattern below is just an example, see some other examples that i would like to easily control the thickness of lines, number of circles, space between stripes, horizontal and vertical scale of the pattern,...

Mar 24, 2014I have a synced three camera project that I have almost finished editing. I want to select the last video clip in my sequence and roll it back, while keeping the audio in place. The idea is to fade the picture to black while the synced audio continues as credits roll over black. However, I cannot find a way to select video only on the clips at the beginning and end of the sequence. I can select and separate any video clip in the middle of the sequence, but not the clips at the ends. I must be missing some keystroke. How do I do it?
I am noe to Premiere Pro and am using version CC.

Jun 5, 2012This week I have been rebuilding some of my custom menus in CDX6, but I could not find the Separator to add to my menu/toolbar. It was not listed under the Commands>User Menus where it should be...well at least I thought it was not there. If I mouse over the list I can see the text pop up intermittently.
I also checked via the All (Show All Items) command list. The space is there but the text for it is wonky. I caught a couple of screen shots to show you what I mean...
Photoshop :: Animated Smoke/Flames Separated By Frames?
Nov 13, 2007Have an animated fire/smoke effect. But I need to have each frame as individual images. I'm inputting it into a game that compiles the images together into an animation in-game.
I have found lots of smoke and flame tutorials, but have not found any on how to make all the frames I would need for a smooth looping effect. If possible, I believe there are small little programs which can create animated fire/smoke for you, and then break it down by frame. But I have no clue what programs can do this. My main concern is to make sure the flames/smoke are as clean as possible in order to be able to make an alpha channel to provide me with transparencies around the effect.
So if anyone knows of a tutorial showing me how to create smoke divided by different frames (20+ or more so it is nice and smooth), please let me know. Of course, if you are willing to provide a quickie tutorial, then even better.
Or if someone has a name of a small program I can use that will create fire/smoke for me, then separate it by frame and save them,
AutoCAD Architecture :: Offset / Center Feature Has Been Separated?
Dec 14, 2012When inserting doors and windows there was a feature called Offset/Center that allowed you to input a standard offset or the item would be inserted at the center point. Also, there were highlightable dimensions when inserting that you could modify on the fly.
I am currently using ACA 2012 and also have 2013 installed and neither of these versions have that feature. I have Offset as a separate selection and Center as a separate selection as well as Unconstrained, but not the combo feature. Is there a variable that controls this availability or something else that I can check to make this go back to the combo feature?

Nov 5, 2010Again a new version and again the same issue like in all previous versions. One could think that issues solved in one version would not be present in the next one.
Again Corel made barcodes apear in all colours in separations, instead of the logical Black only.
I know I can export to pdf and then import again, change colour to black to solve it, but if you want to keep editability or have to do 100+ Barcodes, this is just annoying.

Aug 16, 2013This is a cropped corner of an illustration I removed from its opaque background and placed on a transparent background. The north and west borders show the whilte line that forms whenever I place objects on a transparent background. The south and east borders are the cropped edges -- they are clean and make the trasition from object to background color without that white line. With some objects, it's possible to use the Plygonal Lasso Tool, for instance, and trim that object away from the background. With portraits or irregularly shaped objects, though, it's necessary to use the Magic Wand or other means to trim the background away from the object, which results in that unwanted white line. Defringing, Removing White Matte, Anti-aliasing, trying to predict what color you'll lay the silhouette on and working in that color, and on and on. It seems as though Photoshop would be relied upon heavily by professionals who need to place objects on top of one another without intrusion.

I want to cut the egg in the rectangular solid, so I can obtain a rectangular solid with an empty egg space inside. I tried to use the "derived" command, so I derived the egg from the rectangular solid, and used the combine command, but with no success. Right now I have two separated solids on the same file (the egg and the extruded rectangle).

Well, the files are small eg: 38x38 and 76x76 and how to create a larger image with these small images. Also, they are in .png format... if that matters.
From what I've read a Texture is a Pattern ... right? So, I have searched the FAQ's, the Manual etc. for things like: How to make a large Pattern, How to use a small file for a large Pattern and so forth but I can't find the right info.
Am I suppose to use them to create a Repeating Pattern? Can I do this and have them be seamless?
GIMP :: Save - Save As And Export Separated?
Aug 20, 2012I only recently upgraded to 2.8 from 2.6 and was wondering if I am the onlyone missing the option to edit the file extension in the SAVE formwhich basically allowed you to Save, Save Copy, Save As or Export to anyformat from the same form?
I also found it strange that if I now open a JPG file (or drag into GIMP),I can't save changes (to the JPG) directly (it wants to save to native Gimpformat), so I again first have to go to Export instead!
I am wondering why this was incorporated, and if it's going to stay, is there a setting I can set to work like I am used to (and find much fasterand more flexible)?
Illustrator :: When Saving A File Using Save Option / File Is Not Staying At Size Of Artboard
Jun 18, 2013am having an Issue with CS6 when saving files. When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size. This is causing issues with the Process we work with as we need the file to stay at the artboard size.If I click 'Save As' and change the Adobe PDF Preset to 'Press Quality' then this works, however this means that every file we save(which is quite alot in a day) means we have to go through the 'Save As' option and manually change each save.why this has suddenly started to happen with our Illustrators and do you know how to fix this so that it stays at the Artboard size when 'Save' is used?

Feb 3, 2014So, I'm trying to create a repeat pattern of a Balloon illustration I've done in Adobe Illustrator. I've got the singular file (balloon.ai), which weighs in at around 700MB.
Now I'm trying to create the repeat of this pattern on a separate Artboard which will repeat these balloons, 30 balloons per repeat square to be precise.
What would be the best way to import these separate balloons into the repeat square once (as they're the same file) without affecting the weight of the file and performance of Illustrator?
So, in essence, is there a way to import that balloon.ai file and only have it use up 700MB on the page rather than 30x700MB by the time I've placed 30 balloons?
I can't rasterize the files as the printer needs the raw file.
