I must have hit something by mistake but I can no longer drag the corner of a graphic to resize. The selection dots on the corners are now solid blue rather than white which they were when it worked.
View 3 RepliesIt has come to my attention that the new drag-resize feature only changes the master diameter of the brush but leaves the dual-brush diameter intact. It is the only shortcut that does this resizing improperly.
I would like to know if everyone else experiences the same problem. Is it a bug or is this way of resizing intended?
I mainly do digital paintings and this small bug makes the feature useless for me. I hope that it will be fixed at least in cs5.
Sometimes when I drag a new symbol instance to my artboard and resize it, the instance looses it alignement with the pixel grid.

I checked the box for pixel grid alignement when I created the documentthe symbol option is set for align to pixel gridthe original shape in the symbol is aligned to pixel grindthe original shape has the align to pixel grid check box in the transform panel checked
So why when I resize the symbol instance does it break the pixel grid alignmnet and result in a blurred 1px stroke?
I have an animation that shows a briefcase with a combination lock as shown. I created a vertical png graphic of the numbers 0 thru 9. I then attached two more copies of the graphic end to end to each other to make one long strip of repeating numbers 0 thru 9. I then grouped the graphic as a single object and named it NumFirst and positioned it for the first tumbler of the lock. I did this two more times (NumSecond, NumThird) for the other two tumblers. I then created a graphic mask and positioned it so only three of the numbers are visible (as shown) giving the illusion of the tumblers. Using jquery draggable and restricting the drag along the y-axis, I can drag the individual tumblers up and down as though I was setting the combination. I did this in Edge Animate and the interactive animation looks great! However, I'm limited to how far I can drag the graphic because eventually I reach the end of it. My coding skills with jquery and javascript are growing, but I have hit a snag. How can I get the number graphic to repeat itself (either up or down) after it is dragged for a certain length, giving the illusion that the tumbler is going around and around. Here is my code so far which is in the creationComplete of my edge file:

In Photoshop CS6, when you drag and drop an image you can drag the corners to resize. once you place it, this menu dissapears, i was wondering if there is anyway to get this menu back up without bringing the picture again?

It worked once but nothing I do - reset preferences, change brush preview colour, restart Ps or computer - brings this visual preview back.
What happened and how do I get it back? Without the colour preview a brush drag-resize is a guessing game.
Is there a way to insert a Ai graphic into msWord and the graphic text still be searchable in msWord? I would like the text in my Ai graphic to be searchable once the graphic is inserted in msWord. I have tried different Ai exports, but all come into msWord as pictures. Is there a way to keep the Text Layer in my Ai file searchable in msWord.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBesides using the bracket keys to resize brushes, you are supposed to be able to hold down the Alt and Control key to drag sideways to make a brush larger or up and down to make it softer. This is on Windows.
For some reason, when I do this command, my cursor changes to moving a selection and leaving a copy.
When I hold down just the Alt key, I get the eye dropper tool and when I hold down just the Control Key, I get the move - four way arrow.
I must have changed something in the keyboard shortcuts, but I don't see the option to change that command back. My Brush Resize shortcuts still work the the two bracket keys.
In CS4 the drag-to-resize brush option should display as red (the brush preview default color) but no color shows up. Nor with the drag-to-set-hardness shortcut either. Both shortcuts work. I cannot see the hardness change on screen but a quick check of the brushes indicates that it did indeed work. Just no color indicator for either shortcut.

I have been creating different designs in various sizes, such as 4x6 and 12x12 or letter size. What I need to know is how to view the design in photoshop at those sizes without having to hold a ruler up to my computer? A few years ago I was told of a shortcut key, I think it was Ctrl+1, to make it full-size. It turned out not to be accurate advise. I learned this after creating fifty 4x6 designs and after they were printed I discovered they print was way too small. I need a more accurate and scientific way to have Photoshop resize the view to the actual size of the graphic so I can span the design and confirm everything is legible and visiable before I print it.

I've been using this setup for years & have always been able to drag out the right bottom corner to increase the grey space round an image so i can transform better or what ever. But now when I try to drag out that corner the image window flinches slightly & a line appears around the image which disapears when I let go.Also when I try to expand the layers palette down by dragging it's lower right cornes so I can see more layers nothing happens, there is no stripey corner marks on that corner & when i try click & try to drag nothing happens.
Working with layers in Paintshop Pro X6 instruction # eight says: To resize (the layer that I just placed on my background image) click on one of the corner nodes and drag outward. But no corners or nodes are showing for me to drag the layer to where I want to position it. It seems like a step is missing from the instructions.
So as it stands, I can get my layer onto the background image but I can't resize or reposition it at all.
Does anyone know of a tutorial or a site that may explain how to do this? I dont mind redrawing the graphic, but i would like vector graphic made.

Illustrator tells me the graph has no color profile (what is not correct - it has) but whatever option I choose nothing happens - no graphic is placed, I get no cursor to place the graphic. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Mac and have Illustrator CS6. Whenever I try to open up Graphic Styles, it freezes.I deleted preferences and even did the disk permissions repair, then restarted. Nothing. I tried to create multiple types of documents too (print, web, etc), but whenever I try to open styles after creating that document, it freezes.
These are the vanilla default graphic styles..It might freeze for other tools, but I'm not sure, haven't gotten that far in the investigation.
Using CS6 just installed on a Dell running Windows 7. I have placed a few EPS graphics and find that some of the image is not visible. I noted this a few weeks back on prior use on a different computer running a version of MacOS. A third at that time did display these image files completely. I believe that was CS4 but will check on Monday. I will test with other EPS files from other programs.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have sent an image to a printer in eps & Ai format., but he is requesting the the logo be in an outlined vector graphic, And send it to them again in pdf format.
I have re-opened the pdf that I sent them in Illustrator and find the logo is composed of many shapes and when I use the 'direct selection tool' to select any letter within the logo, it shows an outline with many anchor points. These anchor points can be moved or re-shaped using the 're-shape' tool.
Also I can select any shape within the logo & resize and it does not seem to lose any quality at all.
Am I mistaken in thinking that this is already an outlined vector logo or is there more to it?
I'm designing a game for iPad and am using Illustrator CS3 to create the graphics. I created lots of card sized graphics and gave them all the 'RGB Parchment' graphic style which comes with Illustrator.
The document in the picture is (part of) an illustrator file that I created these cards in. If I take one out to another document to edit it and save it as a .png - it comes back different. As you can see in the picture, in the centre are two mock ups I made for a card. The left is an illustrator file 'placed' in the document and the right is the same file but exported as a .png and then placed in.
The .png keeps the transparencies but the shadow is completely different, it's a horrible brown as well as the shape being slightly different and the quality quite low. I sent the whole mock up picture (which is much bigger) to my iPad and I can still see the lower quality in the right, .png card.
If I want to bring graphics into some software to build the app I can't bring in illustrator files so I cant to create them as .pngs but when they're so different / low quality I don't know what to do. I just want to be able to use that 'RGB Parchement' graphic style and not have it changed so much when I export it.

ive got a red sock and a white sock, and i want to place the colors black red yellow onto the red sock, so that it looks as realistic as poissible. problem is that i cant get the structure of the sock onto the new colors (i tried diffrent blending modes, displace).
I am not entirely sure why but all of a sudden my abienlity to drag anything with my mouse has been disabbled. When I try, it makes the ding noise that goes with being unable. I can still move the objects with the arrow keys. I am not that experienced with CS6 having only recently up graded.

With the latest Illustrator update through Creative Cloud, every time I try to open the Graphic Styles panel my Illustrator gets the spinning beach ball on the Mac (OS 10.7.5) and I have to force quit.
