View 5 Replies View Relatedit is possible to remove a reflection (that is basically a duplicate of an already existing image, if the angle is good) from a photo. I have a feeling it might be possible, and involves layers and cloning, however I do not know how to get this done. Almost like a reverse-cloning tool. Sample picture provided.
Obviously a lot of factors are involved like glare and angle, but say you could see through the glass, and the reflection angle is a perfect 45 degrees or almost a exact duplicate of existing image, just flipped, is it possible to remove the reflection image and obtain more of the other side of the glass?
I would like to learn how to apply the shine/reflection effect which is on the top corner of this image.: [URL] .......

Is there a relatively simple, automated tool in gimp to apply one picture's environment lighting properties to another picture?
So for example if i cut out an object from one picture that has pretty warm lighting environment, and put it in a cold light background it will look pretty out of place obviously, and this is what I would like to resolve.
or how to position a picture in a specific location within a background picture.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I want to do, is take the path tool, make a pattern around a picture (which is rectangle) placing it on a picture of a board like this...and then pull the picture horizontally, and vertically, to make it circular, to fit the perimeter of the board. If I understand it correctly, when you use the path tool...it allows you to make an image round (from rectangular) is that true?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a static picture, and a already-made gif from a friend.I want to put the animated gif INTO the static picture, and make it a new gif.
As in, the original animated gif remains animated and functions all the same, but basically now it is just part of a photo which remains still. For example, my specific idea currently is a photograph of my city I took, but I want to put the animated gif over a billboard that is in the photo.
I can find tutorials and plugins and such to convert a picture into a cartoon picture... but is there a plug in or way to go from cartoon to RL (real life image photo)???
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the picture attachted there is a compostition I made through PhotoScape (I just have come from this software). How to do it in PaintShop X4. My traditional-old steps:
a) First I applied in each photo picture a picture frame (like a shadow).
b) Second I join all photo picture and logos in a big picture.
c) I inserted titles (people name) bellow each photo.
d) To conclude I applied a picture frame to the big picture (in PhotoScape this frame is called “shadow border”).
Just a comment: It seems Corel PaintShop has mostly “cartoon” picture frames. I tried to find out something like “PhotoScape shadow border” without success. Is there something similar available in PaintShop? Is it possible to add new picture frames to the PaintShop library?
How do you do this?

I took a picture of a wall recently and thought it would look better with pockmarks. I found such a facility in one of my art programs and I think it was Photoshop Elements 9. I tried to use this facility yesterday but could I find this feature? No way. I looked carefully through all my art programs and it was nowhere to be found. I even uninstalled PSE 9 and 11 and reinstalled PSE 9 but still couldn't find this feature. Where had I come across this feature before? Had it been a plug in? I searched up and down the internet for plugins but couldn't find anything that rang any bells. I googled 'pockmarks' but just got plugins for removing them from faces. I've spent the last 24 hours thinking of and investigating every possibility to no avail. Now I'm exhausted.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a picture that I would like to make black and white but with some colour. From what I can gather, I've to make the picture black and white and then add the colour to the bits I need after, however, the bit I want to remain in colour is a flower and the way the light hits it, the red is in different shades, making it impossible for me to colour it back exactly how it is.
Is there a simpler way...like select the parts I want to go black and white?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm making background image for myself, and i know how i want it to be, but i cannot do it with my skills.
I have this "base" image that is 1920x1080 and i have to place there several (10-12) photos.
i want those photos to be different sizes and rotations and i also want them to have white border and some shadow.
I want those photos to be like in this image that i found from Google: What is the best and fastest way to do this in a gimp.
I'm having some issues using either GIMP or PS to do this, so I figured I'd ask here. when it comes to image editing and tasks like this, but I'm currently being asked to do something for a job.
I need to take a single image which is a restaurant floor layout, then make it so all of the tables on the image are a different layer so that they can be moved around/customized accordingly.
As far as I can tell, this would involve creating layers, copying the tables from the main image, pasting them all on top as their own layer, and then sliding them around from there.
Is there any easy way to do this, or am I completely off-base?
I got an irregular shaped image and I wish to get rid of the white canvas background underneath it.
I used lasso to outline the image.
However, when I right click, the lasso will not disappear.
I want my mouse to come back.
the steps to make the background transparent
I have scanned in some red coloured Chinese characters. They were on white paper. Now I want to make the 'white' disappear, because it ist not quite white, and when I print I get a shadowy block around the characters. If I save a .png, can I tell it to make white invisible, transparent?

I want to make a Christmas present spelling out the last name using individual photos of letters (see below). I would like the finished image to be 16x20, and I am going to upload it and have it printed at a photo developing shop. I'm not sure how to set this up in GIMP.
When I set up my new file, how many pixels should I make the new image, if my desired size is 16x20. I'm not sure how many dpi to use when I convert the inches to pixels. I read that 300 dpi is desired.
I was thinking about making image boxes for each letter in one layer and cutting and pasting each letter into the boxes. Is this possible or do I need to make a new layer for each photo?
I got Gimp 2.4. I am missing something. Every time I use a tool like rotate, it keeps the old picture there and turns a new image around. Then when I select another tool like resize, the image goes back/ to it's original position?
