CorelDRAW X5 :: Bleeding When Exporting
Dec 29, 2012
I ve been using Corel for years, but i always have an issue when exporting the file to jpg, png, bmp formats
I always get 1 extra pixel when exporting. E.g. my selected area is 1000 pixels wide, and when i try to export i get 1001.
Read a few info about bleeding settings, but i cant make it work. I currently use X5 and my Page settings show Bleed 0%

I had someone code my psd for me and I need to replace a couple of the images.
They've obviously created a transparent gif.
The logo used to be on a dark blue bg but I've changed the bg to white so now the blue bleeding around the edge stands out.
How do I amend it to a white bg?

Using one of my fonts I created lettering that has the middle of each character knocked out so that only the outline shows. The trouble is when I create the jpg for the web the color seems to become runny so it looks like its slightly smudged.

I am using CS6 v8.0 and Apple 10.6.8 to produce a 240 page book with many illustrations bleeding off the page. Where this is along the centre line, part of the image appears on the facing page crop area when the file is exported to pdf, which my printer is not happy with. I have tried turning off all options (including compressions) when exporting, which cures the problem but results in enormous file sizes. At the moment, if I reduce the frame for the photograph to stop 2.9mm from the centre line, the effect doesn't happen: any nearer and it does.

I'm having the same problem as the person in the below link but the solution they got in post #15 to place a spherical reflection map in the overide reflection slot doesn't make sense for me possibly because I have mental ray not vray. URL....

I'm in hopes there is a technique whereas I can paint within the black areas to remove the white spec without worrying about going over the edge, as I would with a black paint brush. I tried different brush blending modes (screen, overlay, multiply) didn't do the trick.

Bit of a strange one, this. In Photoshop CS6, whenever I create a smart object with the intention of resizing it, whenever I shrink it, where one flat colour collides with another, it creates a really ugly "bleed" effect -- kind of the same effect you get when you take a small image and try to make it larger:
I've zoomed in on this particular part to show just how bad it looks. Particularly on the upper part of the forearm, see how it's got a sort of white "halo" before the black outline? It now looks like I drew a slightly darker outline around all the levels of shading, and it looks really bad, almost like a raised/chiselled effect.
Obviously it's not as noticeable when you zoom out, but it's definitely there. I've noticed that the same thing happens when I just resize the whole image using "bicubic automatic", but when I select "bicubic / anything else", the bleed does not occur. It kind of makes the once-incredibly-useful smart object tool kind of pointless now.
This never happened with any other prior version of Photoshop which had smart objects, and I've only just got hold of CS6 a few days ago.

how we can get hatch to not bleed through other solid hatch when we print?
We manually create sketch hatch (not through Section Views) that has a pattern. We then want to place sketched symbols on top of the hatch. Because the hatch is sketched hatch we can't use clipping. We have built into the symbols a solid white fill hatch to simulate the Wipeout in AutoCAD.
Everything looks good in Inventor, but when we print or export to PDF/DWF the patterned hatch bleeds through the solid hatch. The following pictures show how it looks in Inventor.

I have put several drawings into the Publish> DWG>>> PDF mode.
The PDF comes out missing little bits of border lines around circles and elipses as well as some bleeding of colors.

For my business card design I have white text overlapping an area of very white grey- causing readability issues (insufficient contrast). It looks great apart from this one problem, so I still want to keep my white text and light background and fix it by separating the text and background with a darker drop shadow..
First, I added a black drop shadow to the text- but this was not enough to increase readability (text still looked faded on background as drop shadow was too subtle at 85% opacity, 0.04" blur) so I added a drop shadow to my drop shadow (100% opacity, 0.02" blur + 18% opacity, 0.02" blur). This produced a heavier drop shadow effect for my text as desired but, for some reason, the text came out slightly grey in print (offset run). It seems the drop shadow somehow got printed over the text itself to some extent- turning the white text somewhat grey (and so not looking as clean as intended).
How could this dropshadow bleed into the text happen? Is it to do with the fact I added a drop shadow to my drop shadow? I would have thought that, even then, the text should entirely overlap all of the drop shadow as the text is the top layer in the group.
What can I do to ensure that drop shadow does not print over text in any way in future? Do I have to stick to only one layer of dropshadow-or is there something else I'm missing?

I'm exporting a CorelDrawX5 file as an EPS so it can be opened in Router VCarve software. All the lines of the artwork in the CDR file show up as solid lines before being exported.
After being opened in the Router software as an EPS, the lined artwork shows up in pieces. I've never had this issue before with the Vcarve software or Corel, but I even tried rebuilding the files from scratch, and it still happened so I'm thinking its a corel issue.

I am using corel x6 and out putting to laser engraver/cutter, router and water jet. For laser engraving in particular i am have trouble getting a reasonable image. It ends up being pixulated. An it is odd as some times i am engraving one inch square area and some times 2 feet square. The relationship between DPI and size seems to be broken and i can not figure out why. I am normally working with vectors but some times i need to engrave with a bit map. So i will export the vector to a bit map then import the bitmap into a new document and output to the laser. I output to the laser directly from with in corel 13. It is when i import into corel that i can see that the bitmap is pixulated. if I export at 1200 dpi it is better but not good enough. For an 11 inch square out put i think it was a 43 mb file. [URL]....

How do you export from coreldraw to illustrator without it cutting up compound paths?
Currently if you have text that has been converted to curves, all of the letters with counters (or holes in them like O, P, B etc) get cut in half. Surely there's a way to stop this?

Which exporting method/format do you use to export your CorelDRAW projects? I'm talking about exporting web projects for Web purposes so the default colors of my doc are RGB, the default resolution is set to 300 dpi.
I tried many combinations, but the only way to get EXACTLY the same image as on my screen, is to do a "print screen" and then paste it on any photo editing program with no background, and save as JPEG.
I calibrated my monitor with Samsung's Natural Color Pro, and I added the created profile to "RGB profile" in "color settings" (so I don't use the standard sRGB profile).
Another information, I exports my projects to .JPG format, maybe I'm wrong? I use .JPG because the results are acceptable and the exported file size is low compared with other formats.
First of all I don't use the "export" option from the "file" menu anymore, because after a few attempts and combinations with this option, the results were just AWFUL, even when I opened the .JPG file on the same computer on which the project was created (so in theory it should be OK on my screen but not necessarily on other computers with sRGB, or custom calibrated profiles). I think it is because CorelDRAW embed my "Samsung Natural Color Pro ICM" profile, which won't display the image correctly on computers with other color profiles installed.
That's why the tool I use to export is "export soft proof" in the "color Proof settings", clicking "preserve RGB numbers", also in .JPG. With this option I have the possibility to embed another color profile, for example sRGB or even AdobeRGB to the project, and the results are acceptable but... they STILL look slightly different from what I have dispalyed on my screen. And here I think the main reason is "background color" option. I cannot uncheck it, or set to "no background", and I have noticed that the chosen color influences the look of my project. So with white color background it will be a little "washed out", with black it will be to dark etc..
With .PNG format I also don't get satisfying results, I tried with different settings combinations, still the colors are washed out with no saturation, maybe I didn't figured out yet how to set it properly?
Finally, I can get a perfect result (in that sense that as far as I can see, it is identic with what I have on my screen in CorelDRAW) with .BMP format, but first I don't know if this format is compatible and adequate for Web purposes, and second the files are pretty big after such conversion, even after decreasing the resolution to 96 dpi.

One of our tech writers has a handful of screenshots (mostly JPEGs and TIFFs) that he wants to use in a manual. However, the customer requires that the graphics provided to them be in .cgm format.
Despite all of my attempts (using CorelDraw X5) to import the bitmaps and then save as or export to .cgm, the customer says the files are "blank" and unusable. When I try and open the .cgm files I created using a web-based file viewer, the graphics show up as completely black. I have opened known good .cgm files with this same viewer, and the graphics show up as expected.
I have tried all of the different options avaialble to me (to the best of my knowledge; to call me a novice with Corel would be an understatement), with no success. Am I missing something? Or is there some other way I should try and accomplish this?

I need to export on a regular basis parts of a X6 file to eps. The files are huge an can contain all sorts of filter. They are all powerclips, some with shadows and transparency and symbols containing JPG's.
When i export the first part of it most at the time it works well, exporting the second set I am ending up with only half the data. If I copy and past into a new document and try from there I might get lucky or some other parts are missing, if I reduce the size by 50 percent same thing.

When I export my CDR file to EPS, which I've done thousands of time, it seems to export, but when I try to open it, I get an error "The file.......is an unknown format and cannot be opened". When I look at the file profile in my documents, I can see that it says "0 KB"
I can open up older EPS files from my documents fine, but not able to do that now.

I created a vector design in Corel X6 using a vector powerclip in the design. I would like to be able to export it as EPS and AI but when I do this and view it. the powerclip portion of the image separates from container. The power clipped image is just sitting on top of the image that it was clipped to. Is there a work around for this? I want to keep my image intact.

I export simple text to .ai file format for my vinyl cutter to cut names. However, after importing into vinyl cutting program, the letters are split. The 'o', 'a' and 'e' all have a vertical line through them. However, when I export from X3, there is no issue.
I have checked export settings, converted to curves etc, but nothing works. why this occurs on X5 and not X3.

I seem to be having a problem upon exporting the file to a PDF, which is very image heavy. All of the images in the file are at least 300 DPI if not much, much larger. However, when I export to PDF the image resolutions are very low. When I sent it to the printer (who does not accept CorelDraw files so it has to be PDF) they remarked upon the low resolution and you can tell the quality is terrible on the proof. When I print a copy of the brochure on just our color printer at work (same size as the brochure...it is not larger) the images are completely fine. What am I doing incorrectly?

I recently created a logo for a website in coreldraw. It was a black and yellow taxi sign. When I exported to png 24, and put it online, it did not look quite black, more like a bit brownish actually. Opened it in photoshop and sure enough, instead of #000000 my black is now #373435 ...
I need it to remain black. I made sure I chose black, and it looks black in CD, but again, export to png 24 and it's no longer black.

I have a vector image in CorelDRAW X6 which i recently purchased. If i export the image as a JPEG or png at the original size the file is fine in the export preview screen. If i reduce the size of the image and than go to export it, the image is very poor, even tho it is still a vector format and haven't exported it.
I never had this issue in X5 and it seems that X6 doesn't hold the resolution when i resize it.

Program: CorelDraw X6 64 bitOS: Windows 7 SP1 64 bit
I have problem when exporting selected only artwork to eps. The artwork itself contains standard fill objects with no strokes and no special effect on each object (drop shadow, powerclip, etc). On EPS Export dialog I change nothing, just clicked OK button.
The problem is there is no sign if the process success or fail. The file created only have zero bytes. The File>Exit menu is dimmed. When I try to close the document, it say:
Some of the documents could not be closed, because tasks are being performed in the background. Check the status bar of each opened document to see what tasks are being performed and their progress.
I can't close the document and exit the program, so I have to use Task Manager. Also if I continue to edit the artwork, i.e. selecting an object inside a group, the program crashed.

I want to export a Corel draw X6 picture, with its layer and objects, to continue to work on with an Ipad.
I'm willing to buy any app that allow me to do the job on my I pad, unfortunately, I don't find the format or app to do this. I tried Ink pad, it imports PNG files or JPG files, but I loose the objects and layers. I tried to import as SVG files, although I got a vector picture, I lost all colors, and result is very bad.
Any format and app that may be used with some Corel draw format ?

I´ve made a collage with a lot of pictures with a page size of 120 x 80 cm.
I wanted to print a poster of the same size in snapfish, and they accept only JPG files. So I exported the collage to JPG with the best Quality I got.
The poster was printed, but the quality is poor. How can I export it in order to get good results?
I printed the poster the same size in my HP Printer (5 years old) with lot of A4 pages and the resolution of each page was much higher.
Printing the poster is expensive, that is why I really would like to reach the same quality with a JPG file.

I'm having trouble with my print/cutable files not exporting properly into ColorRip 2.2. When I open the EPS file I see the art but the cut lines aren't the "marching ants" that normally show up. The lines appear to be part of the art. It was working when I saved in PDF but now thats not working either. This has worked for years, since iv'e used both. This appears to be a new problem. (I rebooted my computer. But to no avail.)I wonder if I have to re-enstall CD X5?
