Running X3 on WinXPPro, I was running down the list of shortcut keys at:
[URL]
and tried the "B" shortcut applied to a bunch of plain boxes. Result was very confusing. The list as well as the X3 menu show "B" in caps for align to bottom. One might assume that that meant "Shift b," right? But no. "Shift b" aligns the boxes as a set, evenly spacing them vertically. Non-shifted "b" aligns all selected objects to the bottom of the topmost object, which is wierd. You might think that it would align to the bottom of the bottom-most. However, "B" as set using the Caps Lock performs identically to "b." I.e., "B" & "not-B." Since there is no way visually to discriminate between "B" as "Shift b" and "B" as "Caps Lock B" you might think that either this would be changed so that the visual prevails or a lower case "b" would appear in the menu instead of an ambiguous "B."
For better speed i'm using coreldraw 12. All of a sudden it is showing different colors for files. A color shows up different in version 14 [ that is the correct display ] . it is incorrectly being showed in version 12. i've put up screenshots of both versions. What setting is messed up in version 12.
THIS IS THE INCORRECT ONE AS SEEN IN VERSION 12 . The file is same
Importing a file in RGB and converting it to CMYK values are different estremamante performing the same operation in photoshop. The setting of the color profiles is the same and also varying the options Microsoft ICM CMM in color management, keep varying the pure black and gray to black colleague CYMK, does not improve anything. The conversion in coreldraw is too much dark and this is a problem. How is it possible? Here the setting of CorelDraw and Photoshop.
CorelDrawX6 user reporting that she imports a PDF file into CorelDrawX6 (Windows 7 pro, 64-bit system, version is X6 with update 2 and Hot patch applied, Windows OS is fully updated). Taking a pdf file scaling up to full scale, she is not getting the correct measurements. She tested it to see if the same thing happened on another user's computer that is XP Pro XP3 with CorelDraw X5 and it does not have the same issue.
So it may be in CorelDraw X6 (she moved to X6 recently). Also, she said it does not happen consistently. Yesterday this was a problem, today with the same file it appears to be OK.
I used to have X4 installed on XP and it worked fine. Recently I re-install the program onto my new Win7 PC. It was working fine at first but one day my CMYK palette turn into some weird colors (much brighter than the original one)
I tried to hold F8 to launch X4 to turn it back to dafault settings but no go. I tried uninstall and reinstall and it's the same. Finally I downloaded the latest X5 Free trial and the color palettes are displaying correctly! (So i figure it's not my monitor's problem nor some Windows setting.)
(X5 Displaying the correct CMYK color palette)(Ised X4 for a few days and the colors became much brighter than the original ones.)
I work at an architecture firm, in which we have many drawings, all with multiple sheets. (A1, A2, A3...etc.)
I'm wondering, is there a way to lock which layers are visible based on the sheet you select? I want to prevent someone from accidentally turning on HVAC information on a plumbing plan, if they do not check which sheet they are currently working in.
Is there a way to do this in a more permanent way, other than simply using the Freeze or thaw in current viewport button in the layer pulldown menu?
Our company logo exists as an outlined .eps file. Wouldn't I simply send the logo to the printer and have them resize it as needed? How do you set up a file with no height designation?
Shortcut key ctrl+z not working after X4 has been running for awhile? It still works at EDIT/UNDO. If I restart the progarm the shortcut key works for a bit then back to using the EDIT/UNDO command.
I want to change the shortcut for super nudge from shift + arrow to ctrl + shift + arrow. I can't find super nudge or micro nudge in the keyboard shortcuts list. I tried checking "navigate to conflict on assign" but that doesn't seem to work very well in general and fails completely with super and micro nudge.
I have modified one of the toolbars (Text toolbar) with many useful for me commands. Many of them are not visible when this toolbar is "docked" to Corel's interface, that's why I want to view it floating.
But because there is "Object Information" from Status Bar, and it is only one line (very wide indeed, and I cannot find a way to make it in two or more lines of text (?)) this toolbar became very wide and I want to hide and show it with a shortcut. It is annoying to right click on interface, to click on "Text" to open when I need it, and to go to "x" to close it all the time.
Now I am looking to find a way to assign a shortcut to open and close it. Is this possible in CorelDRAW X6?
The scanner shortcut doesn't work unless you go to acquire first. It keeps working until you close CorelDraw. When you reopen Corel, you must then go to acquire first.
So, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Adobe user who is somewhat new to the Corel world. In CD12, I was able to successfully create a workspace and workflow that mimiced AI. In CDX4, I've run into a snag assigning the "v" key to the Pick Tool. I get a msg. in the dialog box that describes it being already assigned to a nebulous "tool modifier". Because of this, I am unable to re-assign "v" to the pick tool.
I have been looking for a command to define a shortcut for the spot color to the selected element. But i could not figure out. How to covert the selected element into spot color here in x6.
The current shortcut for toggle pick tool is ALT+SPACE BAR, but CorelDRAW X5 do not allows to change to CRTL+SPACE BAR (as I´d prefer it). There´s any other shortcut using this key combination.

Disregard what I wrote above. But for some of these mysteries of the computer, I´ve got it: CTRL + SPACE BAR works!. Do not ask how that happened, because I did nothing different from what I had been done before. It just worked. I guess that myself or CorelDRAW were not in a good day. (But still think it was the CorelDRAW - lol).
is there any way to save modified shortcut keys in a file that can be restored and used after full formatting of hard disk. this will save a lot of time for me
Is there a way to create a keyboard shortcut to hide a layer? I'm building a drawing by tracing a bitmap on a separate layer. I turn the layer visibility off & on a lot to check my work.
I have so many objects, the little eyeball in the object manager keeps scrolling out of its window .
Is there a way to add a keyboard shortcut or marking menu shortcut for visibility? It would be really convenient to be able to shift-click several objects and toggle the visibility of them. I have a mouse with numerous buttons that are mapped to commonly used IV features, but I cannot find a way to map a visibility toggle.
I am using video studio X5 ultimate. I am importing video footage from a dvd. VSX5 has imported all of the files. When I get to the screen that asks what folder and if I want it inserted in the timeline, I keep getting an error message "The parameter is incorrect." It then goes back to the folder, and sits there and VSX5 is frozen. I have done this many times.
I seem to have a colour problem with PSD files. I have tried messing around with the gamma settings for hours, colour profiles and everything else I could think of, but I cannot get rid of the problem.
As you can see the colour problem is only with PSD files. I have also taken a screenshot and compared the colour of the windows taskbar, and the PSD gives me a washed out, less bright look, yet upon export to JPG it looks fine...
