CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: How To Recover Created Brochure (Corrupt File)
Aug 20, 2011How to recover a brochure that I created. Now I can view it in the preview but whenever I try and open the file it stops about 30% - 40% through opening and then crashes Corel and shuts the program down. Now I have tried to import the file as well but the same thing happens. I don't want to have to redraw the entire brochure. The file is about 186MB.

May 16, 2011how to fix a corrupted CDR file? I was working on a file of 159+ MB file when the power suddenly went off and I couldn't open the file when the power was back. I know the file could have been corrupted and I don't have a backup of the file also.
BTW, an interesting thing to note is that I tried to open the file is 7zip as if it were a zip file. To my surprise there was the file along with some xml files, but unfortunately I could not extract it as it showed up a message File is corrupt.

May 20, 2011I opened my CorelDRAW X3 to find that the colours on screen look corrupted.
I use the "Optimised for professional output setting" in Colour Management which I never change.
Now, rather than looking fairly close to printed colours, they look very bright... too bright! (see screen shot)
I think that i have had this problem before and i ended up uninstalling and reinstalling. I would like to avoid this if i can as have have a lot of custom settings that i would have to re-do.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Recover CDR Files That Won't Open?
Mar 10, 2010Half a year ago I started on a project with a CD-cover that wasn't finished. Now when I want to open them, It's impossible. If I click on the files X4 opens and immediately crashes. On all CDR files. Same thing with X5. but I can open a CDR file in the folder next to this. Even the backup files seem to be corrupt. The CPT-files do however open fine.
If I start the program first and then open or import a CDR file, the progress bar halts at about 50 % and then nothing much happens.
Any chance of recovering the files, or do I have to rebuild everything?
I know one strange thing happened when I created the first file. I saved the Digipak format as a new page format and then that format stuck as default page size. I tried many times to reset it to A4, but I didn't succeed with that until I reset the workspace.
I checked the CDR files in ZIP format. In the XML file I coud see that the industry was identified as "music". How could that happen?

Nov 10, 2011From time to time when saving a file the file gets corrupted. When trying to open the file, only a blank page is visible. Trying to open the file as zip says "error in packed file..." This happens several times a day (we are 5 users and this happens to everyone).
The out of memory issue is also a huge problem for us. This happens several times a day, often during printing.
Are Corel taking these issues seriously or don't you care about professional users which are dependent on reliable tools?
3 users at Win7-64, 2 at XP-32. All computers are top notch with all patches/updates installed.
Illustrator :: File Seems Corrupt - How To Recover
Jan 17, 2014There is a very important AI file I've been working on. After upgrading to Maverick this morning is seems corrupt -- though I don't think its the file itself since I can retreive versions in time machine from before the Mavericks, and they have the same problem.
Well when I open this file (and so far it is only this file) I get the following error: Can't open the illustration. The illustration ended unepxpectedly. <the a bunch of gibberish>

AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Recover Corrupt File
Nov 26, 2012I am an interior design student and my floor plan saved to USB seems to be corrupted now. It keeps saying File is not Valid. I was working on it last night and saved it like normal and today it won't open. This is my only copy of the file and I don't want to start over. How to recover at least part of it? It's on there somehow. It's showing that the file contains 1,024 KB.

Oct 18, 2012I just used the help file for the first time in ages and noticed all the links to the graphics are broken hence no diagrams etc. I tried to search out where they are usually stored and it gives some weird Address under properties. It's a vba so suppose it's a database? How do I restore the links without having to do a re-install?
As to the pen: How do you stop the annoying over-the-top predictive curve that happens past the node in the next section after a long drag to form the first curve. i.e. you simply want to draw a straight line after dragging out a curved section previously and you get this unmanageable curve to deal with ?

Sep 11, 2012After finally getting X6 to be stable and usable I have two things I'd like to mention..
First, I've been using a 3rd party file manager called Ztree for years and one of its most wonderful capabilities is to copy paths to the clipboard which alleviates opening/saving frustrations with the typical Windoze Explorer dialogs. Anyway, one of the first problems I noticed with X6 is that Paste no longer works in the Open Drawing dialog, while it worked just fine in X5 and as far as I can remember, all previous versions. I sure would like to get that back.
My second complaint is the File/Export routine and specifically the presets. I do a lot of exporting to PNG and JPG and use multiple presets for fixed size/print resolution image output in both file formats. During the typical export session, I essentially export multiple different drawings all of which are exactly the same size/resolution in CD and in the past (X4 and prior as I recall,) was able to just hit <Enter> when the Export dialog appeared once the preset was set to the one I needed for that session.
In X6 though (and to some degree in X5,) even though the correct preset is listed, CD doesn't appear to recognize it, i.e., the math for the size/dpi conversion doesn't take place which forces me to waste time selecting "Original" or some other preset first, waiting for CD to render the new version, and THEN selecting the conversion preset that was pre-selected when I first opened the export dialog.

Apr 6, 2012I receive an artwork from my customer to print a small label to cover some wrong printing.
The label is 110x160mm and the file size is 15MB.
So I intersect a small part of 4x40mm for the replacement label.When I save it as a new file, the filesize is 10MB!
I wonder why the small piece of artwork is so big, while it only contains a 4x40mm bitmap of 300dpi and the rest are vector.

May 14, 2013I have a bitmap in PSD format with 300 DPI, 19.0 cm (7.0 ") wide. I need to enlarge this photo to 6.5 m (255") wide and its resolution to keep a minimum 120 DPI.
What better way to enlarge this photo without becoming a huge file (in MB), but keep a good quality when printing?

Nov 9, 2012I'm writing an application in C++ that loads vector images from a source directory and convert them in bmp or other non vectorial format in the destination directory. I need to load CDR file also, but unfortunatly I can't find a documantation regarding the proprietary CDR file format.
Of course, these informations aren't published by Corel that maintain the secret of the format. But my question is: does Corel sell some SDK that provides some functions, callable directly from the source code written in c++, that permits the conversion of the file?

Nov 5, 2013Q When I import an EPS file into CorelDRAW, and print to a non-PostScript printer, the output appears pixelated and unclear. Why?
A An EPS file is a Postscript (PS) file and meant to be printed to a PostScript printer. When printed to a non-PostScript printer, it will only print the file header which is a low resolution preview of the actual file. If you wish to print the actual contents of the EPS file to a non-PostScript printer, import the file it into CorelDRAW using the PostScript Interpreted (PS, PRN, EPS) filter.So, apparently it can be done, but when I try to import this file into my Coreldraw, there is no option to import with that type of filter that I can see. Is this something that is missing in v12? If v12 wont do it, is there any other way to import this file without it coming in all pixellated? Or is there another way to convert the file into a format such as .plt?

Dec 3, 2011I am new to Corel Draw and am slowly teaching myself. I created a drawing in Corel Draw and then exported it to DXF. I then opened them in a CAD application to actually cut the image out in a water jet. The size of the drawing was not modified, only the corners were fillet (because I could not figure it out in Corel Draw at that time). When I imported it back into COrel Draw to fill it with my image, the size of the drawing was about a 1/2 " bigger (width and height) than it was when I exported it. This is the only place where the size is different.

This all use to work fine in X5.
