AutoCad :: Transfer Profile To Another Computer On Network?
Jul 9, 2012
I am trying to transfer my profile to another computer on our network. I exported mine to the network. (.arg file) When I imported this to the new computer it did not include the toolbars that I have set up on the original computer. What do I need to do so they will be included?
I would like to transfer my current AutoCAD setup to another computer which at this point has AutoCAD out-of-the-box installed. The transfer needs to involve workspaces, toolbars, tool palettes, menus, pretty much the works. I'm not very comfortable working the CUI, so I'm looking for a process so to ensure that all of the above elements are brought over.
At our school we've got a 60 seat network license for AutoCAD 2013. It is controlled by flexlm. Now, one of our teacher, who travels a lot, needs one of the licenses permanently on his notebook.
Can I extract one of the 60 licenses from the flexlm manager and transfer it permanently to the notebook? If yes, is there a special software for it or is there a documentation, a "how-to"?
I hate having to setup one pc to all the autocad setting that we need and then having to go do 27 more. I want to take my exact setup, menu, system variables, colors, file locations...everything and apply it to 27 more computers. We have tried using profiles but it only coppies over a few things and some are still missing. Is there are way to copy everything?
We have a bunch of cad files that are loaded onto a sharepoint. Some these users who have read access only are having difficulties opening the files in autocad LT 2012 because .dwl and .dwl2 files trying to be created on the sharepoint site. Is there a way to redirect these files to their locally to their computer? I would like to avoid giving the users write permissions to the site.
I am using Civil 3D 2010 & getting an error message when I run the command (AddNetworkPartsToProf) to add network parts to the profile.
Here is the message I get when I select a part of the pipe network to draw into the profile. "1 object was of the wrong type. All objects in the pickfirst set were filtered out, please select again".
I recently purchased a new computer and I need to transfer my photoshop to it from my old computer. Is there a way to do this or do I need to purchase a new one?
I would like to purchase a new Mac before this good old Mac revolts completely. I store my images on external hard drives and have heard nightmares about others attempting to transfre to a new Computer. How do I safely transfer Lightroom to a new computer with as little stress as possible?
I have a network that I showed in a profile view and, to creat my proposed pipes network I simply copied the pipes and structures and used network split.
Now I have two networks, but when I project those pipes and structures into a profile they are not visible.
If I check the profile view properties and look at the pipe networks tab, all the pipes are shown as drawn.
If I have a pipe that spans between two profile views, is there a way to label the pipe in each profile view with only the lineal feet that is showing in that profile view?
I have a storm water pipe network and a sanitary pipe network. In the profile view I am displaying both networks. My question is in the profile view the storm pipes are in "front/foreground" of the sanitary pipes. Is there a way to "trim" out the sanitary pipe profile lines where they pass behind the storm sewer.
Kind of like a display order so looking at the profile I can tell which pipe and in foreground and which are in the back ground.
I have to bring a project from Photoshop to school to present.
Problems - you can NOT nstall fonts, brushes, etc. on the school computers - I have used custom brushes and fonts that do not come with Photoshop - project need to be a .psd
So what would be the best way to view/transfer the project to the school computer?
i have part exchanged my iMac for a new version. i did not migrate my applications and i now want to trasnfer the license from the old computer to the new one.
How to extract camcorder dvd tape to an actual dvd without the actual camcorder? Possible to do myself? I have the actual DVD tapes from a camcorder. However, the camcorder was stolen a few months ago.
Is it still possible to convert the tapes to a DVD using my computer, but without a camcorder? Neither do I have the money to afford a new camcorder nor a professional service to do it for me.
I am currently on a trial but will be purchasing a full version soon. I am getting a new computer and need to transfer over all my projects and related information to my new PC. How do I do this with the existing videos I have created?
I bought a new computer and am trying to transfer my files from the old computer to the new one. I thought I had it done right, brought the photos into the new computer, and then started working away. I have now discovered, none of my .jpg photos brought over the changes made. For instance, if I go into the Develop mode, all controls are set to "0". I revisited the old computer, and they are not all set to "0" there. What have I done and how do I correct this? I'll never change computers again with Lightroom.
I got a new desktop and need to transfer everything to it.My ? is how do I get Lr properly transferred i.e. point to the old lrcat file? so that all my edit info will be there?
I have been doing work on my laptop with LR5 and now I want to transfer the file to my desktop LR5 but make sure everything goes along that i have done.
Just wanted to know the best way to transfer my HDV tapes to my computer. Should I use my canon hx-a1s or should I go out and buy a deck. I mean is there any differenence in quality?
Also what settings will give me the best results when transfering through adobe premiere cs4?
And, is it better to capture the video from adobe premiere or another application such as sony vegas, final cut, avid, etc. I still dont know if I will use adobe premiere or sony vegas to edit my footage, it depends whichever one plays my files in realtime, so I want to import in a way where I can have ease of use in any pro video editing program.
I Created a Surface Profile along my existing survey alignment (Alignment 1). I copied that to a layout profile. I need to transfer that profile to an alignment I drew approximately 8 ft to the right (with less verticies - Alignment 2).
I created an offset alignment of Alignment 2 - Left 8 ft. I Created a Surface Profile from the 8 ft offset. Using that surface profile along Alignment 2 might be good enough, but I'd prefer to use the surface profile created from Alignment 1 because it represents my high point. I am creating a construction grade x-sec assembly that will run along (or 3-6 inches higher than the existing Centerline). But I want to hold Alignment 2.
I think what I need to do is to be able to hold Alignment 2, but use the Profile generated from Alignment 1 in my Corridor.
Settings > Pipe Network > Right Click > Edit Feature Settings > Default Profile Label Placement, gets you to this point:
Does the highlighted line only apply at the time that the label is placed? I have multiple sewers to label and I want to each set of labels at a different elevation. Changing this default will have NO effect on existing labels?
I am using Autocad 2008. I lost all my icons when opened a drawing after disconnected my workstation off my domain network and trying to use it locally in my local drive.
in order words, How can I copy my network/server profile into my local drive so that I can run Autocad from my local drive ?(My Autocad Software is loaded in my local drive).
I have in front of me a survey of a small section of road (it's only 10m x10m or something). I want to be able to create a profile along the road section to demonstrate the surface level changes. I have created a network surface but Civ3D doesn't seem to able to use this type of surface to create a profile. Is there anything I can do, perhaps a way of transforming the network surface into another type of surface? Or am I going to have to manually create this profile in ACAD!
I can create labels to display stationing in a profile, but is there a way to display the coordinates in the profile instead? When I need to move my pipes I am using the station I get from the profile label and then use grip move. If I could get the N, E, I could just type it in on the Vista table.
I've just purchased a newer, faster computer, mainly because the hard drive on the old one is dying. How can I transfer/ reinstall my CS2 from the old one to the new one?
