AutoCad :: Making Dimensions At Layout Tab?
Jul 15, 2011Is it possible to make the dimmentions (drawn in the layout tab) to follow the object (drawn in the model space) when it is moved?

AutoCad 2D :: Dimensions That Reference Only The Layout?
Sep 13, 2012I'm trying to create dimensions that only reference the layout tab.
Example- When I dimension from two end points within the same viewport, the dimension reads out 50' because that's the length of the line regardless of the scale the viewport displays. Now I add another viewport and try to dimension between viewports and the dimension references the layout. Regardless if it's the same viewport or not I need the dimension to reference the layout/paper space.

Jul 26, 2011The problem: I add a dimension in Model Space, but it is not visible in Layout. No problem with drawing items, only dimensions. After some "floundering" (not an official AutoDesk term), I see the dimension in Layout. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, or how I manage to get the dimensions to show again.

Apr 6, 2013i want to add some dimensions in paperspace. after creating some dimensions, if i double click on my viewport and move it around a bit, the dimensions in paperspace stay where they are. is there a way to get them to move with the drawing?

Dec 28, 2012Here is a problem I am having in autocad 2011 and is very annoying dimentioning 3d modes in paper space the viewport line obscures any line in layout space that corsses it I have tried all the usual tricks send above bring to fron etc Ive frozen and turned off the viewport line etc nothing works!!
it only happens with 3d objects what I do when detailing something is keep the 3d model then create flatshots of the object i need to detail thendimentions the flat shot objects however if any single 3d element is in themodelspace I get this obscured dimention crap it is funny i dont recall this being a problem in version 2006 am I missing something or is autocad 2011?
OK I worked around this by making sure the viewport for the object I am detailing is set to 2D wireframe however i would like to add some notes to the 3d model through the viewport without turning the model from conceptual to wireframe.

Nov 12, 2012I'm doing dimensions on Layout and I'm facing a problem: Using the same configurations of dimensions, sometimes I get the right dimension, but sometimes, without changing any configurations, I get wrong dimensions.
At the same drawing, with the same configurations, I get different dimensions to the same line. The only way that I'm being able to correct it is by using Match Properties (from a correct dimension to the one that went wrong).

Sep 10, 2013I am designing a city with leaf-like layout. I've across a problem in the very beginning which is that i can't seem to understand the geometry involved in here. Let's i want to make a leaf shaped town such that it can have any desired area e.g. 800 acre with the same dimension like the leaf that added below. While experimenting with arc tool I've so far been able to do it but i would like to know the exact ways to do it.

Photoshop :: Making Game Keyboard Layout
Oct 20, 2004I am trying to create a keyboard layout sheet for a game. I already sliced a blank keyboard image and now I want to add text to each button. I tried to do this with dreamweaver by converting the hole image to a html table, but this didn't work out. So I started dragging text boxes which snap to the slices. This seems to be a good solution but how align the text vertically into the box? I want to put the text exactly in the middle. I would also like to create a margin all around the box. I can post an image clarification would be necessary. Did anybody do this before, could you post a picture?

Jan 10, 2013I am new to Illustrator, and am trained in Photoshop. I'm working with a printer that wants a vector based AI file, so I'm trying my hand at Illustrator. I have an AI, vector based, logo that I'm trying to fit onto a business card template. The logo is primarily text, with a circle surrounding one of the letters. The circle has a stroke that narrows on the right hand side to a tiny sliver. I am selecting all three layers (the top line of text, bottom line of text, and the surrounding circle), holding down the shift key to preserve the proportions, and grabbing the little box in the bottom corner to shrink the whole selection. As I make the selection smaller, the surrounding circle around one of the letters becomes fatter, changing the look of the logo. How do I correctly make the logo smaller, without converting it to a PDF or JPEG?

I created holes in the model as a 1/4" tapped hole
Yet when I show the dimensions in the drawing they show the minor dimension.

Oct 26, 2012i am adding some new stuff to a print we got for my building. my issue is that when in model space i go to add a new dimension and the arrows are huge and the measurement is way off. the old dimension are smaller but say there length is greater. i have the dimstyle set right i believe. even when i take my new dimension and match properties the length is still wrong.

I export my ipt to an stl (and I make sure that I click on options before I convert and make sure the units are in mm) yet the units are still off. I am using Inventor 2013.

Sep 18, 2013Im making a window that is 300” I divide it up into 9 equal parts autocad lt 2012 divides it up @ 31 1/8” that is 280 1/8”.
The mullions are two inches wide and there is 10 of them that equals 20” the caulk joints are 3/8” there are two of them that equals 3/4".
So 280 1/8” + 20” = 300 1/8” + 3/4 “ = 300 7/8”

May 9, 2013How to round down dimensions. I see some topics with writing LISP codes to do it but I have Autocad LT and those cant use LISP codes right? Ive also been looking into the Round off variable in the Primary units for the dimension style but its a little confusing. What I want to do is just round down my dimension at the given precision.
Lets say I have my precision set to .000 (even though I may have dimensions with .00) I want my dimension of 2.875500 to round down to 2.875 and not up to 2.876 then I also have a dimension of 2.90952929 and I want that to round down to 2.909 and I can not find a way of getting both of these to round down with the same setting on the same dimension style. Basically I just want to truncate my dimensions.

When I do so with the DIMLINEAR command by picking the start/end points then the distance away from the line, all I get is three lines, there are no arrow heads or text showing the distance. I looked at the properties inspector and arrow heads are enabled.
