Illustrator :: Why Gradient Control Handles Invisible In Isolation Mode
Jul 10, 2012Whenever I have an object grouped, and double click to edit it, I can't get the gradient control handles to show up inside of it.
How can I get them to show up and why did they disappear in the first place?

AutoCAD Map 3D :: How To Control Transparency For Shape Files
Dec 17, 2013I just upgraded to Map 3d 2014 from 2010 and cannot figure out how to control the transparency for shapefiles. I thought that it was a glitch with the upgrade so installed the servepack and still no luck. So when I go to edit style and then to the style polygon dialouge there is no control for the foreground and no control for the trasparency, there is just a the word tranparency option with "0" but no way change it. I have installed 3d on 2 computers and the same on both.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Solid Hatch Transparency And DWG To PDF
Feb 24, 2011I'm having problems with creating PDF's and transparency hatching using DWG to PDF.pc3.
The PDF does show transparency but has a fine lined pattern at intervals in the hatched area, it does print just fine though with no evidence of the lined pattern. Only problem is most of our work is supplied as high quality PDF.
I prefer to use DWG to PDF.pc3 due to the excellent quality of the PDF. I have played with modified Adobe PDF.pc3 to mostly remove the lines from the hatch but quality suffers in the bitmapping of the document.
I am using AutoCAD Map3D 2011 and AutoCAD 2011 on a windows 7 boxes and Acrobat X Pro. I get this problem with normal solid hatching and SHP file polygon transparency.
Are they any secret/magic settings to fix solid hatch transparency using DWG to PDF.pc3?

Sep 13, 2012I'm using Autocad 2012. I've created a 3D model, one of the components of the solids model, I've assigned a transparency value t which appears in the model, and in the orthographic layout view, and plotted as I need and expect it to. The problem I'm having is that in other layout views, other components include a Dots hatch (I've inserted this dots hatch pattern in both paper and model space in attempt to fix the problem). This Dots hatch appears as I need and expect on the computer screen, but when I plot the layout drawing this hatch pattern plots transparent too, even though it resides on completely different layer than the solid component that I do want transparent. I want the hatch pattern to plot opaque, not transparent (in other words the dots appear very, very light....almost invisible when I plot).

Jun 13, 2013Is there a setting for hatch transparency? My work station it works fine. I have a few other users complining that is doesn't work. One user I imported my arg profile and it seemed to do the trick, but the next user I imported my arg and it had no effect.

May 22, 2013With transparencydisplay=1 I create hatch with transparency (for example) 80%, I save file and I close it. When I re-open the same file hatch have transparency 0%. What's the problem?

Jul 3, 2012In autocad map 2011 x64 and autocad map 2013 x64: Steps to reproduce Create a custom paper (900 x 1200 mm) for DWG to PDF Plotter (in model or layout tab) Draw (in model view) a rectangle. Hatch the rectangle with 2 colors gradient. Plot with great scale (big rectangle). The resulting PDF haven't the hatch. If the hatch isn't a gradient hatch, the PDF looks the hatch ok. And if there are many hatchs the pdf don't show the big gradient hatch.

Oct 7, 2011I have a gradient hatch that using draw order i have sent to back and also tried to send behind other objects. I have tried using HPDRAWORDER (not quite sure what it does) but used values 0,1,2,3,4. the problem is when i plot the hatch, it comes to the front and i loose any lines going through the hatch. i have also used the send to back command while inserting the gradient hatch.Nothing Works.

Apr 24, 2013I know that I can assign transparency to an element (even to an entire layer). But is it possible to apply transparency to an element on a GRADIENT basis? In the following image, I'd like to have the portion between the outer boundary of the gray shape and the red shape become more and more transparent. So that at the outer edge, you'd see NOTHING below the gray shape--but the closer you get to the red shape, the more you'd see through the gray shape.

HPDLGMODE is currently set to 2, I tried setting it back to 1 but that brings up the hatch popup window as it does in Classic mode and 0 does the same thing as 2.
Photoshop :: Use Gradient To Control Blur?
Jul 21, 2012I have a photo of a coffee cup on some wood with decent grain, but the exposure has blasted out some of the grain...I've done a passable job of adding in what could be taken for grain, especially if I blur it in a sort of DOF thing...
can I use a gradient to control this blur, as in no blur at one end of the gradient, to more blur by gradient's end?

Sep 27, 2013I want to make a gradient go from light blue to dark blue so I adjust the lower first stop to light blue and the second lower stop to dark blue.
1. I do not want any transparency within the gradient, so do I just leave the stops on top in their default locations on the ends?

For example in plan view. I want to add a filled hatch region there but also want to let objects behind the hatch to be visible too.... halftone.
In printing the hatch region becomes non-halftone, I think? Or is there somehow possible to remain it? Greyscale printing perhaps?
Photoshop :: CS5 - Reexporting Gradient Overlays With Transparency?
Mar 19, 2013I am currently using photoshop CS5,
I have a layer that is a vector mask over a solid color. The fill of the layer is black, so when i set it to screen it's transparent. I then have a gradient overlay effect applied to the layer that fades from a solid color to a transparency. There is no blending mode applied to the gradient overlay, so it shows up as normal. It looks exactly how i want it to look!
The problem is when i try to flatten this layer, or export this layer as a PNG. The black from the fill shows up where it's supposed to be transparent, even though it's not otherwise visible. If i try to delete the fill all together, and use use a transparent block to overlay my gradient, it won't work, as there is nothing for the gradient to overlay on. If i try to make the gradient using the gradient tool and then using the vector shape layer, it is imprecise, and i know of no way to control how the gradient is applied, other than guessing with the mouse.
I have a bunch of these shapes that need to stack and use the exact same gradient alignment, and i need to be able to export them as png's. If i make them in illustrator and port them over to photoshop, there is still an issue with pixels smearing along the edges of my shapes.
Here's an example, the appropriate fading is on the top, but when i flatten or export i get the bottom:

Aug 4, 2013I am using the new Creative Cloud attempt from Adobe. In 6 months, the only consistent documented behavior from photoshop around transparency gradient adjustment layers is to deselect all layers and then select just one layer to use for the failed Photoshop transparency effect.
I have not found any tutorials that I can duplicate on my machine. Either the tools will not appear 99% of time, or when they do 1% of time they do not work as described, work erratically, or do not work at all. I have got the CC Photoshop to perform a linear gradient from layer to black background. That is all CC Photoshop can do consistently for me. For multi-step tutorials, the steps are consistent, but CC Photoshop popups and resutls literally change with each gradient attempt. Freaky application failures. 100% of time CC Photoshop fails, applying the gradient from an object in foreground to a black background.
Layer foreground to black background must be the default. Anything else fails and is highly erratic. It is as if this CC Photoshop is intended as a supplement to whatever they are using in the tutorials. For example, If I had the money for a full Photoshop CS6 box, everything would work fine? CC Photoshop is a total fail on this computer. Adobe telephone support results the same failure. I am always going to get a call back "with a resolution". but the callback never comes, or it comes with the excuse "we are working on this". All I want is a Foreground to Background transparency gradient for a selected layer... ever since the CC beta trial appeared a year ago. For example, how do I create a radial transparency gradient using CC Photoshop?
