AutoCad :: Settings To Not Undo Zooming?
May 28, 2011Is it necessary to have AutoCAD remember the "zooms" when you hit "undo"? Is there a setting that will allow AutoCAd to not undo "zooms" when I hit "undo"?

View 4 RepliesIs it possible to exclude zooming from the UNDO function? Going through undos is mostly pretty annoying "back-worth"-jumping, when working with a scroll mouse.
edit: Forgot to mention that I'm currently using AutoCAD LT 2000i. And upgrading to LT 2005 in very near future.
Whenever i make a mistake i press Ctrl+Z but it only go's back one step. I cant find the setting to change it so i can go back about 10 or 20 steps. Is there such a setting?
Also, can anybody give me advice about making a (Simple) mouth. I can only make straight line. I tried to curve them with the smudge tool but it looked awful.
Is there a way to undo without zoom as part of the undo?

I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack. In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location. If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.
If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that a StartTransaction / Commit pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.
Tested on AutoCAD 2010 VS 2008
<CommandMethod("MMult")> _
Sub testmult()
Dim i As Integer
For i = 1 To 10
Call testdraw()
Next
End Sub
[code]....
I think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..
So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.
Is it possible to zoom in on a group?
In Group Manager I can select my group and then click highlight, but can't see the highlighted entities on screen. If I know where the group is I can zoom in on it and then when I select and highlight the group I can make out the highlighted entities. But its a large drawing (area wise) and I don't know where the groups are.
I've tried various background colors but that didn't work. Quick search and filter didn't bring anything either. Changing the value of the system variable GROUPDISPLAYMODE didn't work.
In AutoCad 2012, when I double click my mouse and zoom extents the UCS changes to about 20 degrees off of the default vert/horz cardinal directions planes. If I change my UCS back to world it is all good again, although when I zoom extents it goes back to the 20 degrees off cardinal planes.
I don't normally use a UCS other than the default, so it is probably a stupid question, although how do I stop it from doing this?
I am using AutoCAD 2002 Mechanical at work and the mouse wheel is set to do zooming in and out. The finger I use on the wheel is beginning to hurt as I zoom a lot so I would like to be able to zoom with the up and down arrow keys on my keyboard instead. Is this possible?
I would also like to know if it is possible to set up panning in all directions with the four arrow keys instead of pushing down the mouse wheel and moving the mouse.
If in Paper Space, entering into the viewport to zoom to a specific scale (factor), what is the easiest way to make sure I am using the correct scale factor?
ie a calculation? for example say I wanted a scale of 1:20 or 1:100?
I inserted our company logo and placed It properly in our title block. But when I zoom in with the mouse wheel the logo gets smaller in the border. When I zoom out it increases bigger than the border.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with AutoCAD 2010 at a new job. When zooming in all the lines distort, as if I need to change from a perspective view to a straight on view. What is the setting to change this? I've tried changing me perspective view, but that just throws me into a perspective view, which is what I don't want.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an intermittent problem, in ACLt '06.
On certain drawings, when I double-click in viewports that aren't locked they will zoom to extents, even when they have been set up to a certain scale.
The annoying thing is, not only does it zoom the selected viewport, it zooms every other unlocked viewport in the layout.
Does that make sense? and more importantly, how do I stop it from doing this?
I have a vector PDF. And when i view it, i notice that some of the lines in it, chnage lineweight when i zoom in and out between 0% and 125%
Once i get past that 125% zoom, it seems to rectify whatever issue.
Also worthy of note there is no lines on top of lines in the PDF yet the linewieght issue consistently seems to only affect the line for a certain distance. Always in the same place.
Undo has been disabled in order to prevent undo file overflow...
Is there anyway to increase the Undo capabilities.
Is posible to disable undo for certain operations?
I want to disable undo for some for some transactions. if posible it...
which event is fired if a user clicks on "Undo"? Document.OnChange doesn't work, OnTerminateCommand is also not fired.

Any solution for this hide tube. We are using:
Software : Inventor Ultimate 2014-64 Bit
Hardware : Workstation Dell Precision T3600
When I pan around a drawing by holding down the scroll wheel of the mouse button, I sometimes pan quite slowly, AutoCAD decides to zoom to extents. I know I have not double clicked the scroll wheel.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a problem with a title panel that we've created. We're using a new type font - VAGRounded-Thin - however when in paper space and we zoom in and out the text font enlarges or reduces as we scroll in and out with the mouse wheel. It's still coming out fine when printed [pdf and hardcopy] it's just on the screen.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy C3D 2013 just started doing this last week... I first noticed that it would zoom to extents when I operated the center mouse button for panning. It was random, about 1 out of every 15 to 20 pans using the center button.
But then I noticed that it's not just the panning. It will randomly zoom to extents when I type in a command. Earlier today, it did it when I did a REGEN, then again when I did a MAPWSPACE.
The other notable thing is that there is no "zoom" command anywhere in the command history when this occurs.
Besides changing the mice, I also tried rebooting and running a repair on C3D. I have Win7-64.
The problem seems to coincide with when I started using Autodesk 360. Not saying it's related, but it's fishy.
Whenever I zoom out in a drawing in Civil 3D with surface contours, some of the contours disappear. I imagine this is a result from a system variable setting but could not find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for "Slow scroll" and found one topic about scrolling through layers, but not scrolling through the drawing in general.
Problem: When using the mouse to scroll through a drawing with an attached pdf underlay, the motion suddenly gets really choppy, and slow. The PDF is about 3.5 Mb. Its very annoying knowing that my computer should be able to handle it and then some.

I have a county-wide SID image file that I've attached to a street line drawing. It was working fine until this morning. Now, when I zoom in the image (all or most of it) goes completely black. Zooming into different areas of the image results in either the image being visible or blacked out...no real rhyme or reason. Of course, the area I need to address right now is entirely blacked out.
Examples attached: same scale, image is visible but then I pan to the right and it goes black....
how to keep the current zoom scale in (Model) viewport AS IS..the problem is, when i click the other of viewport, the other view zooms to drawing extent..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a lag problem when quickly zooming in or using the selection window quickly. When quickly picking a window from left to right the first pick point lags and I would select some thing else. Iam using Cad 2012. Is there a command setting that has changed from Cad 2011 to 2012 ??
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy screen(worksheet) is lagging when I try to zoom in/out or move with my scroll button.
It goes better when i zoom in till I have a few lines on my screen but that's not really useful to work with.
what is the code that makes it so that zooming in produces the same display?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use wheel zoom, and you can zoom out forever, but zooming in STOPS once the view area hits the outside of the drawing/outer lines in plan view, model space.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMade few viewports (3d) in paperspace, set scale & locked. Zoom in and out from paperspace is fine, scale in the viewports stay as set until after I double-click inside the viewport to check or alter things and return to paperspace.
Now when zooming in from paperspace, subjects inside the viewport keep enlarging (not scale increase) and things go out of space ...zooming out everything come back to place. This makes doing other task very difficult.
