AutoCad :: Lisp Routine Exist That Select Similar Microstation Blocks
Apr 17, 2012
I have a previously converted Microstation drawing in Autocad 2011. In the conversion all blocks were given unique names. I would like to edit similar blocks globally. Many of the Microstation blocks look like the standard blocks I use. Does a Lisp routine exist that can select similar Microstation blocks and give them a single name?

we have moved from AutoCAD MEP 2012 to AutoCAD 2014 recently using Dynamic blocks with multiple visibility states.
in 2012 we could select a dynamic block with a specific visibility state and select similar, it would only select the visibility state that was previously selected.
in 2014 that is no longer an option WTH?
i have tried a couple of system variables to no avail (pickadd, selectionmode)2014
selectionmode is not a valid SV in 2012

I am looking for a routine that will replace all blocks named "DgnMisc_nodepoleind" with a block named "DgnMisc_nodepoleind2" keeping the insertion point. I could use (command "-insert" "DgnMisc_nodepoleind=Y:/ACAD2007/DA settings/Library_new_scale1/DgnMisc_nodepoleind2.dwg" NIL ) but my problem is that the block I want to replace is used on two different layers and I only want to replace the ones on layer "TPSYM01".

I found this routine but It doesn't work really good (see attachment):
1. We can select block instead of typing the name of it (or simply add this option)
2. That the undo command undo the whole lsp routine instead of undoing all single insertion.
3. That we can Hit the escape key at any point in the routine and it stops the routine correctly instead of writing "too many argu" maybe by undoing the insertion or by stopping the routine correctly at this point.
4. I just found that it does not paste the block directly on the points...? Finally this lsp didn't work at all !
I would like to have a lsp that do SIMPLY this:
1 : Ask wich "points" you want to convert (You know these points that you can change the appearrance in the menu format point style, thats what I mean by "points"). And By the way it would be cool if I could choose to convert the points or to paste my block on those without converting them but it is not that important.
2. Select block in the block listing of insert block popup window and paste it by his default insertion point to all the selected points.
Infos: New blocks on current layer.

i found this valuable script Lisp routine to insert blocks at point locations and want to modify it but i do not know much about lisp ...
what i want is :
1) script start and asks for a Block Name (in this case QPP1, QPP2, QS, QE, ect)
2) the user picks existing text
3) the script reads the value existing on this text an put it in a variable
4) then erases the pre picked text
5) inserts the block chosen
6) changes block value to number value pre-read
since it do almost all steps except for step 3 and 6

I am looking for a way where a user is prompted to select a row of blocks and then that row is completely mirrored about the middle of the selection set - such that if the blocks are originally inserted, from left to right "A" "B" C" then after mirroring, we want them t occupy (roughly) the same space in the drawing area as "C" "B" "A".
Then, immediately after mirroring that selection set in place, each individual block that makes up the selection set is mirrored about its insertion point along the x axis..... basically i need to mirror a selection set of a row of blocks so I change their order of occurrence and then mirror each individual block back again to the way it is meant to look.
Is this possible?

I've found a .lsp that does nearly what I require. The lisp that I've got allows you to identify a block, and have another block replace it.
Is it possible to adapt this lisp to allow you to select multiple target blocks to be overwritten?
(defun c:rblk (/ pre nb ss i en ed) (while (or (not pre) (not (snvalid pre)))
(setq pre (getstring "Existing BLOCKs Name Prefix: "))) (while (not nb) (setq nb (getstring "
New BLOCK Name: "))
[Code] .....
In this particular instance, I'm trying to have multiple different door symbols in a 2D plan overwritten with a uniform marker.

How to use the command “select similar” to be applied on a selected part of the drawing? I wanted to use the “select similar” command to select all the columns for a particular drawing on the file but not in all the existing drawings. This is why I number obtained is 60 columns not 20!
Then how to choose the “window selection” in which the “select similar” command is applied?

I have a library of dynamic blocks that we use for various systems. Each dynamic block has roughly 50-100 visibility states. Sometimes I need to use previous drawings for a new phase of work and the symbols that were previously new are now existing and need to have the letter "E" next to it to indicate as existing.
Currently I have duplicate dynamic blocks for "existing" and "re-located" blocks. This seems redundant and would be much more logical to select a number of devices and simply change a visibility to either new, existing, or re-located. However, I cannot think of how to do this unless either with an attribute or a second visibility pulldown.

I was wondering if it was the COND statement that I would need to use to evaluate a block to confirm that two attribute tags existed and if so, if would process the block to perform an attribute extraction of both of those tags. It would ignore blocks that only had one or the other attribute tags - and only extract the attribute values if the block had BOTH of the tags present - It could be blank, but it had to exist.
For example, I want to find blocks that have the attribute tag "PART_A" and "ID" - and then create a CDF that has the value of "PART_A" in the first column and "ID" in the second column. Then it closes my CDF file.
Then, I want it to scan my drawing again for blocks that contain attribute tag "PART_B" and "ID" and then re-open that CDF file and append the values so that the values of teh attribute "PART_B" is in the first column and the values of the tag "ID" are in the second column.
I have been playing with the following code --- is there anyway to modify the code to get it to do what I need? I have already removed the part that writes the header-row....

We have just finished modelling hundreds of pits/manholes in 3d, to import into 12d as required by our current project.
After importing into 12d we have realised that all the faces are back to front as the dark edges are facing outwards, and the light edges are facing inwards on the pits.
Is there a way to globally flip, or perhaps a lisp routine to flip all the faces?

Basically, the routine asks for the user to choose the hatch type (Retirer/Percer), then the layer (Defpoints/Select/Current) and finaly the type of the object to draw (Polyline/Rectangle). My original routine has also a Circle and a Boundary options, and an Error trap to reset the variables but I will keep it simple for the purpose of my issue.
So, my issue is: when I choose the type of object to draw, it draws just one of it and the routine ends. I would like to have something that "says" to the routine that I want to keep drawing that object (Polyline or Rectangle) and putting the hacth inside until I do enter and then the routine goes to its end.

I have created an acad.lsp file in where I want to arrange all our company settings. I've stored it on the network to make sure everyone will use the same one and when updates take place I don't have to run past all pc's to change it. I've set everything in the deployment package but users can still change it when they reset their profile. Plus some pc's are already installed with AutoCAD before creating the lisp routine, how can I enforce the support directory to check on the network for the acad.lsp each time?
