Dec 27, 2013How to add the sheet description field into the rename & renumber window? I ask this because during the sheet set-up process we use the sheet description often, and I would like to go from sheet to sheet without having to right click and edit every sheet.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Cannot Rename Any Layout Tabs
Apr 13, 2012Right-click on a layout tab, select Rename ... nothing.
It looks like it highlights the tab for a nanosecond then crosshairs appear with an empty command line.
I eventually renamed one tab by selecting rename like fifty-eleven times.

Nov 30, 2010I am currently working on a large drawing that has many tabs (145), I have made a mistake midway and would like to find a way I can rename them quicker than "Right Clicking" on each tab to change it. That will be very time consuming.
Also, is there a way to print a list of all of the current layouts within a drawing.

Oct 18, 2012I have this drawing with over 200 layout tabs. (I do shop drawings for a cabinet/countertop manufacturer, and we do one drawing per project.) Here's the thing... I need to eliminate pages 1, 6, 14, 20, 24, 30, 40, 44, 47, 56, 61, 64, 73, 78, 81, 90, 95, and 101 because they are now NOT a part of the project.
In my title block, I have the layout name as a field, so it says "PG [layout tab name]/224" which is needed because there's a table of contents for the pages that are printed.
Is there any easy eay to renumber all the tabs, or am I stuck re-numbering every single one?

Feb 19, 2013I'm not sure if it possible although I am trying to rename layout tabs an easier way. Say I have layout tabs A01 to A99 and I want to insert another layout tab at position A20. I need to rename (the old) A20 to A21, then A21 to A22 then A99 to A100 etc.
Any fast way to do this or a lisp that does this.

Oct 12, 2011I am creating a table of data using mtext to store data such as project name, client name, address, phone, scale, date etc. etc. and I plan to use that as the "master data" so I dont have to change a dozen text blocks whenever I update the file.
So I use FIELDS to enter the data into my title block. Problem is it works fine in Modelspace, but it doesn't carry over to Layout.

Apr 10, 2013I use multiple layouts to produce build drawings and I use the name of the layout tab to identify the sheet on the shop floor.
I currently use a field in the titleblock that calls the system variable ctab, the problem is that whenever you update the fields, they all change to the name of the current tab, not the name of their own tab (by default, when you open the drawing, they all say Model).
I resort to building all of the layouts and converting that field to text prior to printing.

Sep 29, 2012it is a long click (click and press) or is a double click, or is a double long click..I suggest having a RENAME option on right click as well as using normal double click for renaming (one click select clip in viewport, double edit the name). I'm busy doing a photobook but I find when i open the book it will open the page, layouts and graphics icons (bottom right) but i cannot get the layouts to open. When I open this option it opens a blank page. All my pages are there and all the graphics options and samples graphics appears as normal.
When I open a new photobook - the layouts icon opens as normal and I can pick the various options for the number of photos per page.

I just imported 278 photos and they are all correctly renamed within Lightroom however the source files retained the original Canon generated names. I want to rename them for backup/in case I ever decide to stop using Lightroom/etc.

Oct 30, 2012So all of a sudden, out of the blue I have a problem creating layers.Whenever I create a new layer in the layer properties manager i give it a name (as you would) I then select make make current in the layer propertis manager so I progress to work in this new layer and..... The name changes back to the default Layer1 in the Layer Properties Manager but in the Layer dropdown the name of the layer is as i renamed it.this is happening on two non networked computers and on old drawings and new files alike.
