Ok over the past few weeks I've got pretty much most of the Dynamic Block stuff down except this feature.
I've attached a drawing. In the middle I used VISIBILITY to have all the different weld types. I need something at the end to where Weld Tails can be added if they're needed but you can only use one Visibility per block. I'm also going to need something at the front of the block for different symbols like "Field Weld" and "All Available". If I can figure the Tails out then I can do the other one.
I have created a dynamic block and have applied some lookup tables to it but its not working just the way I want it. I think its to do with the custom entry on the lookup tables. If I delete the custom entry when i select the block in model space the drop down select box to allow me choose a selection is no longer available. How can I remove the custom entry and still have the block working normally. I've attached the block.
I have been looking for about three days on how to do the array with-in the dynamic blocks, but have been very unsuccessful. What I am trying to do is make a TJI joist that you can have a look up table that is classified as 'offset' so that you can eventually strech the joists to standard spacing, and use the array to work. So that I dont have to have a ton / zero visibiliy states.
Dynamic block is for a title block which can be horizontal or vertical and a few different positions.
My lookup table controls the orientation and position of all the items including a number of attributes. But for two attributes I have allowed a grip on the Point Parameters so they can be dragged left/right if there is not enough room when the text is longer.
I can reposition the attributes but if I reposition twice then the Lookup table resets to its "Unmatched" configuration which I don't want. I believe I have to have an "unmatched" setting and "allow reverse lookup" and at the same time I want the user to be able to customize the position of these attributes.
I created a dynamic block of signatures when i was messing around with dynamic blocks and have been using it since. i have to update this dynamic block and add another signature to it but for the life of me i cannot remember how to add/remove from the lookup table. i added the name to the visibility table i just cant remember how to edit the lookup table ?
I have been off playing in the Inventor world for awhile and now that I am back in the 2D world, I find my memory fails me. I am trying to create a dynamic block for terminal boxes. Some of these boxes are round so I need to control the diameter from the lookup table. Just how do I do that? Placing a diameter constraint parameter gets me the various diameters I need but I cannot get those into the lookup table.
I am unsure weather to post this in Dyn Block technical or Fields as it comprises elements of both.
I am trying to get a field to return a 'lookup properties' value...
Actually, what I am trying to do is use a field to display either a + or a - depending upon upon the state of a flip parameter.
How I have been trying to achieve that is by using a lookup table to assign:
Input Properties.....Lookup Properties Not flipped........=............+ Flipped.............=............-
Then I'm setting a Field to look at the Object 'Lookup Parameter' and return 'Lookup Action'.
The field then displays '#########' when testing the block.
When I return to edit the field it complains 'the object referenced y the field has been erased'. Both the table and parameter are still there, so I don't know what the problem is. Is there a better way of having a field return a specific value based upon a parameter state?
I found this block online. I'm trying to do something similiar. I want the attribute to be dynamic (in context). The author of this block set a visibility and then 92) lookup actions, but only (1) lookup parameter.
I made dynamic block with hatch and strech action and I have a poblem, when I press lookup action 0.5m it strech and i need to text value the same 0.5m. I attached dwg file where i do that.
I have a dynamic block, that represents a stirrup.
I inserted in the block a Block Propreties Table, that have some preset dimensions for the stirrups. The grip of this table I decided to put in the top right corner.
The problem is that I can't make this grip moveable )
My boss gave me a copy of Autocad 2012. I've messed around with architecture 2010 before so the ribbons are no surprise. One thing I have noticed that's really different is the dynamic block constraints & block table actionblock properties table? I looks very similar to the lookup property table
It's about "Block Properties Table",I want to use a Block Properties Table to manage a Dynamic Block.
I have defined a Dynamic Block a and its Block Properties Table in Autocad2010,this is the screenshot of the Block Properties Table(a1:d1=100,d2=200;a2:d1=100,d2=400;a3:d1=100,d2=600.) Now I want to insert the Dynamic Block using .NET API.after I input a command, the block of a2(d1=100,d2=400) is inserted. I have the code about it, but the code is not complete. this is the Dynamic Block
this is the the screenshot of the Block Properties Table .
the result:
the code about it:
[CommandMethod("readBlockTable")] static public void CmdReadBlockTable() { Editor ed = Application.DocumentManager. MdiActiveDocument.Editor; // select a block reference [Code].......
I've created this dynamic block for work. Its an overhead cupboard with 4 doors. My problem is that when i create a table through data extraction the value for the length and height for the doors aren't shown (The column this there with a heading, no value), the length of the cabinet and visibility is though. Do i need to assign an action or something for the value to be displayed?
Is there a trick in using a dynamic block in a table cell? When a dynamic block is inserted into a cell, any visibility can be viewed (Properties Manager) in that cell if the visibility state has a block in it. What happens if the visibility state does not have a block. That is, if the view has exploded block so one can use parts in actions etc? Can I view ANY state in a cell regardless if it has a block or not? Or must the visibility states have blocks to be able to use it in the table cell?
I've created a titleblock with a menu to select sheet size, a single set of attributes that serve all the different sheets, but now I'm trying to find a way to add a table.
The table is to sit above the title box and include information on: New revision number Text detailing changes since the last revision (might be single or multiple line text) Date of new revision . The bottom line needs to sit flush to the top of the title block so the top line would be moving up the sheet as new lines are added if that makes sense?
The "Main Stretch" parameter does not correspond with the Block Properties Table. What does this parameter need to be attached to?The paramter will adjust with the pull down options of the Block Properties Table.
I am creating some table of contents. The first column contains symbols that are inserted blocks. Now, when I've created dynamic blocks I've made them to have more visibility states. If I insert the block that has such states, only the saved state is visible. Is there any way that I can use more visibility states when inserting some block into table.
At the moment the only solution is to insert another simplified block that I've created just for this insertion. That way my blocks library is getting bigger and bigger only because of this. I don't use simplified blocks in my drawings, except for the thingy mentioned above.
Whenever I add a block property table the window that should be opent doesn't open. The strange thing is that I think it actualy is open but i just don't see it on my screen. The same thing gous for the screen that allows you to ad a parameter to a lookup set. by folowing this link you can see what i mean, it gets interesting after 30 seconds.
So, I'm familiar with creating Property Set data and schedule styles and all, but I am having trouble wrapping my brain around the following, I would love to know how you tackled it in the simplest way possible:
I need to show a schedule for Windows and Doors, that will read the drawing or selection, and list all the door and window types. Now, that is not so bad, but there is a caveat that I can't get past.
We offer two or more Manufacturers for said windows and doors and are being asked to show tags on our floor plans that reference a table that says:
"For window type "1", ship either Manufacturer A - Part No. X, or Manufacturer B - Part No. Y
What I can't wrap my brain around right now is how to get Property Set data to know that "1" means both of those parts, and not one or the other. The way this is supposed to work, is for each of our plans we are to have only the types ("1", "2", etc.) that are currently shown on that plan, and if one of those windows or doors change to a different type, have the schedule update automatically.
I would prefer not to need to write a LISP or Vlisp that does this, but am open to using VBscript in the Property Set Data, I am just unsure of how to write that into a Formula.
i was wondering if it's possible to change the default precision of values in the drop down menu for linear parameters when using a block properties table from 4 digits to 0.
See attached file, when opening the dropdown menu, the centre-to-centre widths of the chair are displayed in a value with 4 digits "behind the comma" and i would like that to be 0.
This is my first dynamic block, and I am trying to make a pipe elbow that is selectable for pipe diameter, arc angle of elbow, AND radius of elbow. I got the diameter and the arc angle just fine, but I can't figure out how to do the radius of the elbow. I used a lookup table for the diameter constraints and I used my visibility state for the angle, seeing as I couldn't find a way to accomodate arc angles with a lookup table. What I'm stuck on is the radius bit.
I need to be able to select the radius or the elbow as either 1.5x, 2x, or 2.5x the diameter of the pipe. So for example, if I have a twenty inch pipe diameter, I need to be able to set the centerline radius of the elbow as either 40, 50, or 30 and then have the outside and inside radii fit proportionally. So in the case of a 20 in diameter, I would need one block with one variation that has radii of 30, 40, and 50, another variation with radii 20, 30 and 40, and yet another variation with radii 40, 50, and 60. I could easily make a reverse lookup table to do this for a single size pipe, but in order to do it for each pipe diameter I would need to be able to cross reference the other lookup table to pull the diameter value, and then have the radii respond to that value.
If this is even possible? And if it is not possible, how I could edit the arc angles with a lookup table instead of a visibility state? Because if I could do that I could use my visibility state to do the radii instead. My other options are to create a second and third dynamic block for each variation, or to add each individual radii variation to my lookup table. The latter of which I won't do because that is far too many options for a lookup table that already spans beyond the extents of my monitor. How I could accomplish all three of these tasks with a dynamic block.
1. What is the easiest way to find points that are not constrained? I get a notice that the block is not fully constrained and its a nightmare going through all the lines trying to find where I need to apply a constarinet.( I can't wait to get off ACAD and back to Inventor.)
2. When I try to save a dynamic block using the Save Block icon under Open/Save, if the dynamic block is not fully constrained, and I click save, when I reopen the block to edit all of my constraints are gone, this has happened twice. Now I just exit by Xing out and saving changes.
So I've done a reasonable amount of work with dynamic blocks. I have a block with a rotation action and grip to arbitrarily align it. However I realized when trying to combine it with an alignment grip (which actions on the basic or fundamental block rotation angle) that there didn't seem to be a way to some how link a dynamic block rotation action or one of the custom angle properties to a the fundamental block rotation angle. Thus there are two additive rotations at work; the dynamic block one with its grip and the fundamental rotation property.
This can cause some confusion when one person aligns with the grip and another via rotating the block's fundamental property and would also be problematic in the generalized sense if one was trying to select or programmatically read back the net angle alignment.
new to dynamic blocks but looking to streamline my wiring diagrams here and have created a block that shows the typical wire styles we use in a simple easy way. I now want to add an overall flip to the entire block and have not been able to find set this. I would prefer to use the same label and go from there. I have included the block to show what I mean. It is only working on the single visible item at the one time. I know this has to be possible just let me know what I am doing wrong. I am running AutoCad LT 2013
I need to create a dynamic block for a "Glass Panel" in a balustrade. I need to be able to insert it, in one corner and stretch it in another corner, to suit the staircase angle.
I've created the block, but it isn't working correctly. I've attached a drawing, with the left hand drawing a sketch of how it needs to be. The right hand drawing is my dynamic block attempt. As can be seen, when the block is stretched between the 2 points, it doesn't follow the angle of the staircase correctly (Very slight run off)
I wish to create a dynamic block containing some attributes. These attributes are inside rectangles that can't be modified in length using linear parameters ; but the attribute has to be always in the middle of the rectangle. So, I draw a line inside the rectangle (in a hidden layer) and insert the attribute with center justification (not sure for the translation) that I place in the middle of this line ; then I put a coincidence constraint (not sure for the translation, but it's the first one) linking the middle of the line with the middle of the attribute.
But here's the problem : when stretching my rectangle, the insertion point of the attribute suddenly changes from "center" to "bottom left".
I am looking for a way to use the ATTIN/ATTOUT workflow to bring in data from an excel spreadsheet to drive the size of each of my block's instances. The block will be simple, a rectangle, with width and length parameters. For each entity in my excel/csv file these parameter values are spelled out. I know how to display these parameters in my attributes, but I don't know how, if I were to feed in these values, to drive the geometry. If there's a better way to take a list of width and length values to generate a series of blocks each with a rectangle containing its respective size.
I need to do some repetitive task on a lot of dynamic blocks, unfortunately, when I open each file, AutoCAD keeps asking if I want to open it with the block editor.
Is there a way to disable that dialog and open the files as normal dwgs?
A hint: BLOCKEDITLOCK doesn't make it, it shows another dialog...
I'm trying to make a dynamic block of a column radiator.
It should be very simple. It's a 46mm wide module that comes in a range of heights (300, 500, 600, & 750mm) and a range of assembly widths (9, 13, 18, 22 & 27 modules wide - more commonly given as mm widths of 414, 598, 828, 1012 & 1242 respectively).
My attempt at constructing it has gone quite well, but when 'stretching' the block a ghost of the core 414 (w) x 300 (h) unit remains. I attach the block to give you a better idea of what I mean.
I have a drawing ("SURUBURI.dwg") with several dynamic blocks ("M12", "M16", "M18" ... an so on...). I want to insert in my current drawing, one of the blocks from SURUBURI.dwg, for instance the block named "M12".
For that i tried creating a new command "INSERT_M12" that has the following script :
