AutoCad :: Delete Points On 3D Polyline Vertices
Jul 18, 2011
I have a couple of hundred 3D Polylines which have point crosses at each vertex. Any way to remove these point crosses that fall on the 3D Polylines.
(IF 3D point vertex = any 3d Polyline vertex THEN delete)
Reason I can't just filter out the points and delete is that there are points that don't fall on Polylines which I want to keep. All points are on the same layer. Polylines are on various layers. Data is from a 3D topographical survey.

The vertices of the polyline cant’ be extracted!
The “list” command does give the coordinates of the vertices of the polyline while these data can’t be extracted by using the command “Extract Data”.
Is there some workaround to have the vertices of the polyline extracted in a table?
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,

We are moving our schematic work from Visio to acad to keep everything in one program, and are trying to figure out how we can make the wire polyline in the attached file so it just to snaps to the connection points without actually extend the line or adding a vertices. I basically just want to re create what we already do in Visio where you can basically create an arrow, add text to the middle and then have it snap to a connection point.

I have two polylines. Segments of one polyline are directly on top of segments of the other polyline. When I grab one of the polylines to stretch the vertices, it grabs the vertices of the polyline underneath.

I have to intersect polylines "POLYLINE" and "LWPOLINE" with a line and get all the angles of all segments of the polyline that are intersected.
To do this I used a loop that monitors all the vertices of each polyline to find the two vertices of the polyline segment that intersects the line. Unfortunately, these polylines have thousands of vertices and the processing done in this way takes too long.
With the vlax-curve-getClosestPointTo I could very quickly find the vertex of the polyline closest to that intersected with the line, but I need to find the other vertex of the polyline segment to determine the angle of this.
Another question: is there a quick function that returns the exact point of intersection of two curves (e.g. A line and a polyline, or a line and a circle?

Batching processing method to remove the coincident vertices of polyline (2D autocad 2012 version).
These polylines are imported from other application into autocad for plotting contour purposes. The coincident vertices give problem to lisp program for drawing a cross section profile.

How to create points at the vertices of the lines in the regular AutoCAD? ’m wondering if there is a way to automatically create points at the vertices (or only at the end points) of existing lines (or polylines)?
Is this possible in the regular AutoCAD?

I know there are different ways to do this. Would like to know multiple options so I can see which might be quickest for me.
I have points with elevations and 2D plines at elevation zero drawn between them.
I would like 3D plines instead. This is the easiest way for me to transfer them to another drawing where I will make surfaces with them. I don't want to have to transfer the points over.
I can redraw the plines as 3D plines but this is time consuming and seems unecessary.
I don't want to have to convert them to Feature Lines either. I prefer they be 3D polylines.
Is there a simple command for this? I already have a surface containing the points and lines as surface breaklines.
Is there a project objects to surface command that will make these 2D plines at elev 0 into 3D plines while assigning elevations (and vertices) only at the current vertices?
What about a simple series of commands to convert the 2D plines to 3D plines, then force the 3D pline to take on the elevations of the points at its vertices? (I think this would be my preference, but don't know any of these commands or where to find them.)

I need to create points with surface elevations along sample lines. The points need to represent the verticies one would see in the section editor. I've attached an image of my section editor for one of my sample lines. I need to create points that represent these 24 verticies along this sample line and do so for the rest of my sample lines as well. Is there an automated process to create these points?

Is there a way to remove selected vertices with the keyboard, without deleting them and the section of line they once represented?
All the key combos I've tried just delete the line section and vertices, when I really just want to remove the vertices.
I realise the > tool can do this but that's painfully slow when there's a bunch of them.

Delete some vertex in this polyline.

Example as: i have 3 vertex (0,1,2) and you can see vertex 1 stay between vertex 0 and 2. Now, i want to delete this vertex how can do that. Similarly, i want to delete some vertex 3,5,8.

I am aware of creating a polyline and using .AddVertexAt() to give the points, my question is if I want to create a polyline in acad I generally will pick a point and then type out @10.5<0 or something similar of that nature to pick my next point. Is it possible to add vertices to a polyline in .Net giving it the distance and angle of one point2d to the next point2d?
Example:
acPoly.AddVertexAt(0, New Point2d(0,0),0,0,0)
acPoly.AddvertexAt(0, New Point2d(1,0),0,0,0)
but instead?
acPoly.AddVertexAt(0, New Point2d(0,0),0,0,0)
acPoly.AddVertex ( use code equivalent of New Point2d = @10.5<0 from point at 0 index)

The problem is I have over 500 to do, and I cannot select each one individually and do it. It would do my head in.
Is there any way to change multiple splines all at once?

This is something I should know as a long time CAD user. I have line of points, ~200 on the screen and I want to draw a polyline through them without selecting each point. I know there was a command to select the first point and the last and ACAD would draw the line between. I am using AutoCAD 2010.

I want to create new vertex points in feature line and 3dpol.
I have this:
try
{
if (obj.GetType() == typeof(Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.Polyline3d)) {
Polyline3d p3d = (Polyline3d)trans.GetObject(entRes.ObjectId, OpenMode.ForWrite);
[Code]....
In this code line:
oFtrLn.InsertFeaturePoint(punt, AeccLandFeatureLinePointType.aeccLandFeatureLinePointPI);
always catches the same Exception "the value is not within the expected range" .I have translated it because I get "El valor no está dentro del intervalo esperado". Perhaps is this: " Value does not fall within the expected range.".
I have tried it with different point3d values but always catches Exception.
With pol3d I have similar problem.

Any way to reduce the number of vertex points in a polyline or 3d polyline and retain the basic shape but without having to redraw over the top it?
Ideally, I would like any adjacent segments which are in the same direction as each other to become one segment.
In my image you can see the number of points it has, the majority of which are not necessary for my needs (it was imported from a client's drawing). My desired linetype will also not show because of this.

There are times that I have a really long curb polyline that has both line and arc segments. I wish to pick two points along that polyline and have it give me the distance between those two points along the path of the polyline.
Do we have this ability natively? Have I been missing something all this time? Normally I have to make a copy of the original entity, ... break, break, list erase or undo....

How can I drag-select muliple vertex points form a polyline, a workaround I found is:
-select object
-shift select first vertex, shift select next vertex, etc
But this workaround is limited because I want to delete those vertexes, I cannot find the remove vertex command when I have multiple vertexes selected.
