I have a question with hatching. I'm using AutoCAD 2006. Is there any way of having the hatching lines' spacing change gradually to create an illusion of depth? I'm thinking of something like this image:
If there's a way or if you know of any plug-ins that could work?
We have some VIPs coming to see our new waste treatment facility. I was asked to make a pretty picture for them. So I started to hactch our site plan. Roads with gravel, grass, solid for tanks. They wanted more... So i changed tanks and grass to gradients and that was ok. When I tried to change the roads to a gradient, the tanks and grass became the new gradient and the road diappeared (blank). This is in ACAD 2013. I tried to do it in 2012 and the system crashed. When I restarted ACAD asked to send error message. The road is outlined in a polyline, as are all other objects beacause I have learned that ACAD can't handle the pick area unless it is a very small area. So I have lots of extra lines that are on defpoints or a separate layer, and hatches on their own layer.

For example, if I have a part that can change lengths and I need to print off a new drawing, it would be good if I could say that the lines were a set distance from each end of the part or some features of the part.
Then I could update the part length, then just open the part drawing and not have to adjust anything.
This isnt so much of a problem as an annoyance. When I try to make poly lines from connected single lines my procedure is as follows...
pedit, right click, multiple, select lines/objects, enter, yes, join x 3, esc
My annoyance is if i hit join once it will not make the lines into polylines, if i hit join 3 times or so and then esc it will.
It just doesnt seem that is right and I think i might be missing something. I have been doing pedit this way for a long time adn its probably finally time to figure this one out.
I've had cause to do some site grading by creating featurelines from scratch. What is the difference between gradient and slope (they are the same are they not?) when creating them as I always seem to go wrong when using this method??

My friend who has a digital printer, once printed one of my designs but there were stripes (like you have when there's little ink in a printer) only in gradient filled areas When i fill a shape with gradient colors, i also see these stripes on my screen (when i look very close) in CD and also in pdf when i export the file. I need to darken the grey lines in a two color (grey & green) line drawing since they are hard to see.
One way is a fill but there maybe some quick method that proportionately darkens just the grey pixels while preserving the relative grey gradient between grey pixels.
I recently invested in CS6 Production Premium and I've just tested legacy support by saving an Illustrator CS6 image in CS4 format.
The image contains a number of semi-transparent gradient meshes used for highlights.
Having loaded the saved CS4 .ai file in CS6, white lines appear along my semi-transparent gradient meshes (see the attached screenshot).
What's happening is that the anchor points with 0% opacity in CS6 suddenly have 100% opacity when I load the saved CS4 files in CS6.
Is this a known error? If so, how/where do I report it?

There are no white lines when I save the image in CS5 format and load it in CS6.

What I want to do is take a design and automatically filter it to divide it into four parts that are moved into the corners of the image for tiling, like the Make Seamless feature. But I don't want any image-changing effects other than that, like gradients, which can't be turned off when using Make Seamless. What can I do?
If I have to do it manually, how do I do this? I can't seem to understand how to use the grid or ruler to find the exact center or divide the image into four equal parts.
Using CSS, I want to put a semi-transparent image over another image (by semi-transparent I mean a GIF in which alternating pixels are transparent - see attachment).
I drew this image basically pixel-by-pixel (via copy/paste), and it's ok as far as it goes, but what I REALLY want is for the density of opaque pixels to increase from left to right, so the effect when laid over an image is essentially that of a gradient. I DON'T want to have to draw this image pixel by pixel!
Whenever I try and accomplish this in Photoshop, it uses semi-transparent pixels which then become opaque when optimized. If I could figure out how to tell photoshop to build a gradient using only 1 color and no semi-transparent pixels (or barring that, white and another color and then I could delete the white...),

I am trying to make a shape made from the blob tool made into hafltones. I do not want it as a gradient, just equal sized halftones throughout the shape. Is this possible?
When I do it using Effects/pixilate/color haltone it makes multiple colored halftones, whereas I just want one color. And when I change the channel's it comes up with similar results.
I have the following problem: I have loads of lines in 3D, some longer, some very short. With PE i can join them using fuzz, but since some lines are next to another line then it tends to make the line go back and forth in some places. What i want to do is somehow make an average line from all the other lines.
