I created a lib folder in my projects folder and then with 'Add Reference' added the reference to my project. It works well for me.
But when I executed this DLL in another system it throws an Exception "Cannot load the file or..........."

I have had numerous application errors which result in the PS CS4 shutting down unexpectedly. 1 such error message: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occurred in the application 0x78138a8c". It happens repeatedly when I try and create Brushes, when I open normal jpg files, when I create new file. There seems to be no direct correlation between an action and a crash. (I have worked on CS2 with nothing like this ever happening.)

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've run into a problem with my "Jet.oledb.4" connection string not working for x64 machines. I've done some research and found out a few things, but am still confounded.
The code was written on a x86 XP machine with vb.net 2010 express. AutoCAD will load the dll just fine on x64 machines. Everything will work except the connection to the database. I tried installing the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable for x64, but couldn't because the MS Office installed is x86!! Instead I installed the x86 version, but got the same unhandled exception at runtime.
Do I need to have the current x86 MS Office uninstalled and then install the x64 version of MS Office on those machines? Is it that the code is compiled as x86? If so, how can I compile to x64? I didn't see any options in settings, and haven't been able to find any examples.
The thing I really don't understand is that the same connection string ( "Jet.oledb.4") works in an old VBA routine on all machines!!
I have to sometimes make files for a router table, water jets, and plasma cutters. Some of the shapes are created from splines and or polylines. Our router program and some of the programs that our vendors use (water jet and plasma cutter) programs that have major trouble with the amount of control points (nodes) that are required to hold that shape as it should be. When I try to remove the nodes in autocad the shape changes.
One of the methods I have to use is to import the DXF file into Corel Draw X3 and remove all the extra nodes that the program will allow me to delete without changing the shape of the item. This works sometimes depending on the program that the vendor is using. I have to do different things for different vendors, and as I said this only works 50 percent of the time, and I will not know if it worked or not, until the vendor starts complaining about open files or not. On one occasion the final product came in from the vendor, and it was a mess, inside corners were blown out in large circles, and outside corners were rounded off into large circles.
The in house router table issue has been overcome, it is the water jet vendors and plasma cutter vendors that we are still having issues with.

We have had this issue now for a couple years and don't know what is causing it. We are using vault pro with admin set single project file. A user can work for months using correct.ipj, then randomly at 10:42 they will notice the active project was been changed to some other temporary project location "c: emp.....". Then it will happen to different users at different times. I cant seem to find any correlation to anything. I can only imagine that it is somehow triggered from the vault addin.
We are inventor 1012 and vault 2012 pro.
While creating various circular masks with a radial gradient from white to black, whenever I change the blending mode of the mask path Ai will throw me out of mask mode into layer editing mode. Since this is on a large document of ~2Gb file with multiple artbords for large poster & UI refresh speed is slow, this has become quite frustrating. Is this normal Ai behaviour?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an idw that will not check in because a 3rd party file is missing. When I expand the browser, I see this file "barGrate&.bmp" that is missing. I can delete everything out of the idw and this third part app node is still there.
How do I delete this, or find what is referencing it. I can't check the idw in until this is corrected.

BUT we spend a month or two at another location where I also have a desktop and good monitor. Do I have to suspend or uninstall CS3 on the desktop at the original location in order to be able to use it on the desktop at the other location? I would hate to have to reset all preferences, etc when I come back to the original location.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy coworker and I both have the same version of Illustratir (CS6) and both use Lion on iMacs, but today noticed something weird. He saved a file similar to a file I had done before as both an eps and a pdf and his file size was more than twice what my file sizes usually are. I thought it was odd, so I copied everything from his file into a new file (same dimensions) and saved out an eps and pdf (default settings), and like I thought, my files were less than half the size of his.
Why would two machines be saving identical files at different sizes? Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing? Everything in the file is vector, if it matters. There's not even any editable text.
I'm considering adding a MacBook Pro Retina to my hardware setup. To date all my LR3 work is on a desktop and laptop using Win 7. If I add the MBP and run a Mac version of LR on it can I still move the catalog back and forth between the Mac and Windows machines? One option is to use Parallels on the Mac but looking for all the alternatives and potential issues before I bite the bullet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem in using a LISP program to use a tool from a third party software. We use a third party software in AutoCAD to draw objects on AutoCAD drawing (HVAC duct work). Because the objects are stored in the drawing in the format that only the third party software can understand, we rely on using the tools from the third party software to operate on their objects. That third party software is designed for many customers, and we are just one of their customer. Therefore, we cannot expect the third party software to have everything that we want. We want to develop a LISP program to automate our process to meet our specific needs. That LISP program will need to use the tools from the third party software in order to operate on their objects. And that is where the problem starts.
We have a piece of duct that has a duct body and a piece number tag. I have the entity handle of the duct body in our database. And I can use it to select the duct body using plain LISP program. But I don't know a way to select the piece number tag that is corresponding to the duct body. I have examined the properties of the duct using (entget (car (entsel))). But I cannot find an obvious way to link from the duct body to the piece number tag. This means I have to use a selection-tool from the third party software to select the piece number tag of the duct that I have selected using LISP. Unfortunately, I find that the third party selection-tool doesn't seem to work if I call it right in the middle of a LISP program. On the other hand, it works if I use it manually (outside LISP) or if it is used right before the LISP program is terminated. I don't understand why it doesn't work in the middle of a LISP program. I asked the developer of the third party software, and he said that this could not be done without rewriting the entire software.
By the way, I call that third party selectin-tool by either manually clicking at a button or using a C# program to simulate a mouse click at the button. Either way, the result is the same.
I am trying to debug a project and I have started to use a few different third party libraries. This causes a huge headache since when I netload the DLL with the command method defined in it, nothing will run since I get errors stating that I am missing a reference.
For example: I create a library that is used to process text strings from a drawing (no AutoCAD .NET, just takes text in) and create a report based on this text and create a class library DLL of this. I now create a AutoCAD .NET class library with a command method and in this command method I loop through blocks and send the attribute text to class library. In order to do this I add a reference to my previous project DLL file and add a using directive. By default CopyLocal is set to true so I hit build and it is successful (now my class library DLL and AutoCAD .NET library DLL are in the same debug folder). Now I go into AutoCAD and NETLOAD the command method DLL from the debug folder and I am unable to run it since AutoCAD will complain about that referenced class library DLL that I created in the first step.
The only way that I can get my command to run is if I manually NETLOAD each dependant DLL that I have added to the project. How can I avoid this? I am at the point where my project is getting complex and NETLOADing 20 DLL's just to debug is getting painfull.I have read someplace that I would have to add all of my referenced DLL's to the AutoCAD folder, but this seems messy and hard to control (what if somoene else is using the same library but a different version?)
Why is it that my code has references defined, and using statements to say I am using these libraries but AutoCAD refuses to locate these references?
Is there a simple way to get around this without copying files all over the place? The third party libraries are either in the debug folder from copying manually, or copy local is set to true. I do not understand why when you tell AutoCAD to load a DLL from a folder that it would not try to resolve dependencies from the folder you pointed it to.
Just to clarify my question is: Is there a simple way for AutoCAD to resolve referenced third party / custom DLL's that are included with an add-in? And this question is for development and not an installer. I want to hammer out a test solution and test quickly without copying files all over or editing the registry.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have created a data shortcut to a surface using Civil3D 2011. When I create a reference to it in another drawing, it shows up in the Prospector but nothing shows up on the screen. I have played with the surface style and made sure all the layers were on and tried closing and reopening the drawing.
I have also tried to reference it into a brand new blank drawing and I even tried to reference a surface in a different file that I have referenced several times before (in 2010). Every time I get the same results. It seems like the surface is there, but I just can't see it.
I am going through our Civil 3D template and purging all layers we do not use. However, there are four assembly layers AutoCAD won't let me delete, but I cannot find any style or object referencing them. If it matters, the layers are C-ROAD-ASSM, C-ROAD-ASSM-BLIN, C-ROAD-ASSM-OFFS, and C-ROAD-SCTN-DIAG.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working in Civil 3D 2010 and I created a surface a while back which 4 pipe networks have been referenced to and the surface has been data shortcut'd. I am now facing the issue that the surface needed to be renamed.
I looked in the Data Shortcuts folder and the name didn't change on the shortcut. All the pipe networks have errors now cause it is looking for a surface that technically no longer exists.
I tried deleting the Data Shortcut and creating a new one with the new name and resetting all the networks to the new surface but I am still gettting errors.
Is there a step that I am missing to get all this to link together properly with the new name?
I've lined up an image myself in Civil 3D over a topographical survey but now I want to export the image as a geo-referenced image so it can be brought into Mapinfo and Tuflow in the right place, coordinate-wise.
My question is - is it possible, and how do you do it!
I've been getting this Undefined Alias Referenced error showing up every time I open one specific drawing.
Also, I'm not sure if this is related to the first part. In the same drawing I have several png files that I can't get rid of.
I am drawing an as-built plan and utilizing a scanned image of the plan as a go by. The image is referenced into the drawing. Sometime I want to turn the image off by selecting it and clicking "show image" icon on the show image > options tab. After turning the image off, if I forget to unselect the image before continuing, I risk deleting the image and creating an unreferenced image.
I thought i could solve the problem by locking the layer the image in on, but then I can not turn the image on and off!
I am creating a new set of drawings but using information from an existing set. On the existing set there is a reference of an image of our company logo in the format. The path for the image is to the my pictures folder for the previous drafts person. Is there a way to redefine this path or do i have to reinsert the image. The format is not a block.

My drawing has 12 XREF files so I created an ETRANSMIT (.zip) file and sent it to him with all the drawings. He extracted the .zip into a folder and is able to view the 12 various referenced drawings as well as the layers pertaining to drawing I sent to him but can not see the referenced in drawings in this file.
He keeps getting this error: "One or more referenced files could not be located or read. Number of missing referenced files: 12".
