AutoCAD .NET :: Moving Block From Its Point To Another One
Apr 4, 2013How Can I move one block only from it's point to another point

View 2 RepliesI create a block where coordinate 0,0 is my base/insertion point (which is established in an orientation that is to the lower-left of my blocks line work). In a new drawing I insert that block and specify coordinate 0,0 as my insert point. Instead of my insertion point being in the lower left it is in the upper right. I run into this in new version and old version drawings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn "test" mode, this block works well except for the point of the arrow. If you stretch the line under the title, then move the arrow point to somewhere else, then flip it, the arrow point and its associated grip needs to stay put.
It actually does, the first time. BUT then if you move the arrow point again and flip it again, it does not.
Then, when I inserted it into another drawing, either with "insert" or via SSM, the flip doesn't stick to the point even the first time.
So I guess my question is how to flip it but keep the point where it happens to be when the flip occurs. Like a multileader, because what I am actually trying to create here is a multileader that has an annotative block with attribute fields, to be used with SSM.Â
is it possible to create a block so that the base point is the only snap point on the block?
In other words supose I have a block of a simple rectangle with the base point in the center.
If I try to snap to the block, I will be able to snap to all the corners, but not the base point. I know that i can put a point at the base point, but can I turn off the snap to the corners (just for the block) in other words, have an object that is unsnapable to without turning the snap mode off.
I'm inserting blocks into my drawing and the block has a basepoint and a 0,0,0 point. The CAD guy who usually works with me is off today but he has a keyboard method of switching between the 2 points when inserting the block.
Its a fairly straight forward thing on his keyboard, nothing he has set up but standard in autocad.
I've had a try hitting a few keyboard buttons this morning but can't seem to do it.
We're using C3D 2013 SP2. The survey company we use uses point styles to show the blocks. Say they shoot a catchbasin. Instead of inserting the block, the point shows up as the block.
I did a field check & needed to insert a missed CB. When I inserted the block, the other points that were CBs disappeared. I had to insert the block, copy it the clipboard, undo the insertion & then paste the block in. It did this on other drawings & other blocks.
my problem is whenever i make a new block a stretch point appears even if its not a dynamic block . also its not a stretch point, because when i click on it, it just move the block , and it always appear on the coordinates 0,0 it cause me a problem when I insert the block , autocad use this point as a base point , and its very far from the real block .
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to create a block with attributtes that automatically complete x, y, z, lat, long for the insertion point of the block?
I am trying to complete text in paperspace that will automatically fill in the lat long of a point in model space without using a table. I have tried field insertion with reference to a cogo point, but it doesn't give options for position on a cogo point. If I pick a block with attributes, it will let me pick any attributes, and x,y position for the block.
Cogo points show all the information I need to propagate in the properties....but how do I get that to translate into the text using fields or some other method?

I want to move the base point of a block in the block editor. However, when I move it, the block moves accordingly in the drawing.
How can i move the base point in the editor, so that the block stays at the same position in the drawing.
trying to insert point instead of block.

(setq YY (rtos (cadr point) 2 20)) ;; y koordinata bloka
(setq ZZ (rtos (caddr point) 2 20)) ;; z koordinata bloka
(command "point" xx,yy,zz) is not working
!xx="5582453.414999999" but when i (atoi xx) i get 5582453 no dedimals...
how to create valid insertation point from xx, yy and zz?
Currently, I have the base or insertion point of some of my blocks in an undesirable spot and I would like to move it. When I insert a drawing or block I have difficulty in placement due to a poor choice in the drawing or block I am trying to insert.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to do a macro that will allow me to select multiple objects and then move them in only ONE axis. For example, If I want to move a wall, the door and the window in the Y axis to align with another wall across the hall. I have attempted to do this in a button macro, but so far its limited. Here is the macro
^c^c_move;\.xz;@;
This will allow me to click the customized button, then select ONE object by a displacement, and it will only move it in the Y axis and allows me to choose the point with a mouse click of the final location.
When I try to select more than one object, it kicks me ahead in the commands and prompts for (needs Y). how I can figure out the correct macro?
I am wondering what Block Authoring actions i can use to move my Attribute Definitions up and down in a Dynamic Block. I understand duplication the definitions can get really ugly.
So i want to be able to have a second visibility tab in my block the nwhen i select it my Attribute Definitons insertion point moves to another co-ordinate with in the block.
I am using managed classes to insert multiple block references into model space. I wish to insert a block and then move it (change its Position) which I can do. The problem is that my attributes associated with this block reference do not move.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I trim or move a block (roof trim mostly) there is an outline of the block I am working on, I know the solution, if you move the block over, it moves but the outline stays where the block used to be, then I copy it back and delete the outline or original block that made the outline and its back to normal.
-Trim BUg02 is my trim after its been trimmed with mysterious outline left over
-Trim Bug03 is my trim after being moved with mysterious outline left in objects original place
I have a dynamic block that I found on a website [URL]...... I have inserted an image and a Z coord. The problem is when I move the block with the grip the image doesn't move. I have redone the selection sets but no joy.

I have created a path using the pen tool. Of course, to get things right I have to move some of the anchor points. I believe that I should be able to do this by holding the Control key down while using the Convert Point Tool. Sometimes this works just fine, and other times the whole selection moves when I try to move the anchor point.
What is the exact procedure for moving an anchor point? I am apparently missing a step so that this appears to sometimes work, and other times not.

I have a lot of attribute blocks in my drawing which i want to move them one by one
so , here is what i want to do :
I have numbers (or texts) in my work area and this numbers also exist in my attribute blocks .. i wanna move my attribute blocks with tag name value reference to my specify area if tag name values are matching with text or numbers in this area .. every block will check my selected tag string and will be move on matching text in my work area.
I need to move areas of an image that I have selected using the unit of points. For example, I get corrections in our copy where I need to move certain parts of the image 8 points up or over 3 points.
I can use the measurement tool to meausure the distance but then it disappears when I try to actually move the selection. The same thing happens when I try to use guides to mark the area. I wish I could just set Photoshop to "nudge" in points instead of pixels. Is there any way to make this easier? (Photoshop CS4 version 11)
I know you can add a connection grip point to newly created sketch symbols, but how do you add it to the existing Rev Block from Inventor right out of the box? You can't edit the definition of the Rev Block, I'm stumped. I need to do this so my Rev Block is attached to the titleblock top right corner so when changing border sizes, it follows the top right corner.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to replace a large number (3700) of blocks with points, and cannot find a command for that operation. I have found a lisp for converting circles to points.
Have I just not found the command, or am I a bad googler? Unfortenately I cannot handle pure code (yet), so I need a lisp file (or the command).
here is my jig rotate code

I always rotate the block with bottom left point as fixed point. What can I do to make the block rotate around another point? such as centre point of the block?
I have drawn some doors and saved them as blocks. Whenever I insert one or another, the door itself is far away from the insertion point. How can I modify this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI create a set of points in a drawing and create each point as a block reference containing the point, text and probably something else. Also I would like to use different symbols for points and each of the symbols is defined as a block definition, and for each point I create a block reference according to the symbol type. The question is if is there any way to "combine" block definitions/references? I mean, I have common block definition for all points, whis defines somethin common for all of them. Also I have different symbols for each type of points and each symbol is defined separately as a block. But when a final point is created (containing common definitions and type-dependent symbol) I want to have it as a single block.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIf you're an Illustrator user, you may be familiar with the ability to move the active anchor point of the line, by holding "Spacebar" and dragging during the drawing process. This is a useful timesaver for creating complex paths. While Photoshop CS6 has introduced some useful new path-editing features, this is one that is still missing.
I cant' figure out why Adobe does not make the pen tool identical between the two programs. This is an old feature in Illustrator. Don't the Adobe programmers talk to each other.
While using the pen tool, moving the current anchor point by hold down the spacebar, is a great time-saver and I use it frequently. But I find it a little frustrating that, when closing a path, the "spacebar" feature does not work. Instead, the apposing direction point goes whacko. Is there an alternate keyboard shortcut to overcome it? Even though I "know" it won't work, I seem unable to resist holding the spacebar to fine-tune the last anchor point.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a pattern that I have created in previous itterations of Illustrator. In CC when I create a triangle (either via Star, Poly, or Pen tool) and then try to rotate it via Transform Each > Transform again, the rotation point moves according to what the bounding box would be if I reset it, rather than staying in one (original) spot relative to the actual bounding box and triangle. I cannot find any settings that would be affecting the rotate point in this way. I am pretty confident that I am using the same procedure now that I did in older versions of Illustrator. Perhaps I am using the wrong procedure.
Â
Naturally, if you are rotating something around its center you should expect that it would end up create a circular pattern. It is more of a square with concave sides. The red is a perfect circle that I grouped to the triangle to demonstrate the rotate points movement. It is located in the exact center according to the align tools.
I have had this problem since I started using patterns. Basically when I put a pattern on a path I want to then move it along that path so it starts where I want it to start, not neccessarily on the path's starting point.
Â
There is an image of how it looks like
I created a simple pattern to show my issue. For example I want to move this pattern along this circle so it looks like this (triangle points up)
As you can see I rotated the whole circle to get the right outcome I need, but if it was just a regular path I would not be able to fix it this way.
Â
Is there a way to do that? Something like moving text along a path.
I am using Illustrator CC.
