We have some data in SQLite, and i want to know, what is the best practice to store the style. Now my practice is: i finished the stilization, and save them into *.layer files, then load them with workflow into a new drawing. It works fine, but i have some problems and questions:
- The Map layers order is not working well. If i have only one Map layer, with polygon features (they have label), the label is disappear in most cases (its loaded, but the polygons uncover the labels). I have to click the polygon feature, then i need set Draw Order -> Send to Back command (and this is not working well all of the time). In the drawing data is a very useful command to send all hatch to back (hatchtoback). I want to do this, but with feature data.
- I want export the Map layers (with these styles) to drawing layers, so the drawing object get the feature data as object data. I know the mapimport command, this doint as well, but i can't load the style. I need to create drawing layers, wich contains the feature data, and have a nice style (set from *.layer files).
- How many layer can i load with workflow? Is it stable with hundred of layers? Is parallel the fastest method?
I have my laptop with LR4, I'm using an external HDD to store the RAW data from my camera. This HDD is fed by an external power line so it's not as portable (WD My Book3.5")
So the setup is that LR4 is linked to the external HDD. Whenever I download photos from my CF card, I tell LR4 to copy the images to the external HDD because I don't want my laptop to be filled with RAW. I only export the JPG's to my laptop.
Now here is the tricky part. When I travel, I take my laptop and my lighter external HDD (WD My passport 2.5") because it's portable and needs only USB power.
While traveling I import my photos using LR4 to the secondary HDD (my passport) and I edit them. When I get back home, I would like to "merge" my edited images from the portable HDD (my passport) to the primary HDD (my book).
So essentially I would like to streamline my work as if I'm managing one catalogue on two separate HDD.
My new computer is equipped with an SSD for programs and a 1TB disk for data. How do I configure Elements so it can run from the SSD (C:) but store my picture data on the D: drive?
I have an Excel spreadsheet I am testing to see how to edit table data in Map 3D and see the changes back in Excel. I have created the .udl file from my Excel file, which AutoCAD stores way down in the Data Links folder. I attach the .udl file as a Data Source. It shows the named range and I can view the table but it is always Read Only. I checked the Access permissions under Properties and none of the boxes were checked. So I checked ReadWrite but I still can't edit the table.
Then I tried just attaching it as an FDO provider. It links and displays the table just fine, but when I perform an edit (which it allows), the whole program crashes out without a single warning. Like I never had Map open.
This may be a Windows 7 permissions thing but since Map won't let me change the folder location where I save the .udl file, I can't test this out by putting it in a folder I know I have full access to.
example [CommandMethod("Test")]public static void TestMethod(){ Document doc = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument; Editor ed = doc.Editor; Database db = doc.Database; using (Transaction Tx = db.TransactionManager.StartTransaction()) {

I'm working on 2013 AutoCAD along with V52.03 HydraCAD and have been trying to export a model to Navisworks. Currently I have Navisworks Freedom 2013 on my system. AutoCAD doesn't recognize "nwdout" as a command, it says unknown command. Does this have something to do with the Navisworks Freedom that I have on the machine instead of Navisworks Simulate?
Automated AI so much so that it can read instructions from an external source like xml or txt and automatically creates files and folders.
For example we have something like this: File1 Hello Font: Myriad Size: 22 Colour: Pantone 254C Image 1.jpg (link) Source: Image1.png (link) clipart1.eps (link) ---------- File2
and so on.
I want AI CS5 to: 1. create an eps File1, create a folder named File1, put File1.eps in it 2. type the text Hello, apply Myriad 22pt and PMS 254 to it, centre it to the artboard 3. Place all jpegs, pngs, eps source files on the artboard and embed them. 4. Save the file as eps legacy version 10, close the file and move to the next file.

I imported an AAF linking to R3D and Sony footage. When I tried scrubbing the timeline, I got that message. Smoke is REALLY slow now. And when I try to look at footage in my gateway, I get READ ERROR.
Also, the proxies don't start rendering in the backburner...

How to read real number data from selected columns in an Excel spreadsheet into an illustrator javascript array variable, so that then I can use this information to construct an illustrator polygon.
Further information:
I am new to javascript (and not much of a programmer in the best case, but do have some basic knowledge using ancient languages like FORTRAN 88). I am sure I am just missing an important step here despite all morning browsing with Google for answers (something to do with variable definition I assume?). I have some survey data defining the outline of features in map view listed in a string of point (x,y) values in adjacent columns in excel (these x,y point values calculated from GPS data using a commercial program to converted 3D position to a 2D x,y by geoid projection, and then in excel to re-scale point locations to illustrator’s artboard). What I am trying to do is select columns of x,y value pairs in an excel spreadsheet, copy these values to the clipboard, and then develop an IA JavaScript to draw a polygon through the specified set of x,y points. It seems easy enough to script illustrator to draw the polygon once I get the values from the clipboard are in a javascript array (lots a good tips here [URL] ....), but pulling in the clipboard data seems to be beyond me. I have tried populating a defined array with various combinations of array declarations and app.paste(); or windows.clipboardData.getData('text/plain'); with no satisfaction. I then had the idea to try to pull in the clipboard to one long continuous string, place that in a text box (see see its structure), andthen read and split up the text in a loop to populate the JavaScript array…but that deposited a complex illustrator table object into my text box, and several attempts to force the clipboard to paste text did not work (again probably having problems understanding variable type declaration).
I would be happy to find any method of scripting the pull of the selected on an excel spreadsheet for use in an Illustrator script…so if I am making this all harder than it needs, be I would be grateful to know that also!
Since I updated to Inventor 2013, every time I try to print an idw as a pdf, it prompts Windows to configure Navisworks Simulate. Message says the feature is on a CD-ROM or removable disk that is not available. The odd thing is Navisworks Simulate is already on my computer as part of the Inventor 2013 installation. Should I reinsert the CD that has Navisworks on it? If I just keep hitting cancel it eventually gets to the pdf creator and everything works fine then.I am thinking of uninstalling the Navisworks.

I am trying to export some Revit models to .nwc for use in navisworks.
I have been getting some odd errors, sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I will get the error, close the program, re-open, and it will export fine. Other times I try that and still get the same error with no luck.
I need to get these into .NWC files, and doing it from Revit holds more infomation than trying to import them in Navisworks.
Attached is a picture of the error message Revit is giving me...
Using Navisworks Freedom as a viewer? I read that Revit needs a Navisworks plugin to export a .nwd file. Or is it Navisworks Freedom needs a plugin for rvt files? Revit and Navisworks have full cross reading and writing capability so it seems a short step to a common viewer.
I also understand that Autodesk have suggested installing Revit in viewer mode as a viewer. Its too big an install to expect clients to use this approach. Must be possible somehow with NV Freedom!
After I save a file for "Web & Devices," when I open it, it returns this message, "This file contains file info data which cannot be read and has been ignored." Will this cause any problem with the file once I place it in the website I'm building? I've never seen this message before on a photo I've edited. The changes I made involved color correction.
The Revit 2011 Navisworks Exporter plugin works fine for exporting files for Navisworks Manage (.nwc). The problem is that those files can't be opened in Navisworks freedom until they are converted to a .nwd file. Can the .nwd be generated directly from the plugin? Both NWD and NWC are shown in the Navisworks Options Editor for the plugin, but only a .nwc is generated.
I can store some ObjectId from my drawing to text file. After that how we can get back ObjectId from string read from that text file. Or have a diferrent way to store the ObjectID.
I'm using balloons to get information from parts, then writing that part info to a custom table. I need to keep track of which balloon corresponds to which table row.
Is there some object/property of Balloon where I can store a single number or string? I'm already using the value field, so that's unavailable to me.
Also, one balloon corresponds to one table entry. That means I cannot create a custom iProperty in the part the balloon is attached to since more than one balloon may reference the same part.
How I can get AutoCad to store my preferred "linear dimension" properties (i.e. arrow size, line weight etc).
Currently the standard setting are not what I use and every time I open a new drawing I have to go into amend a new linear properties and also any new linear dims I create has the standard settings.
I usually create one then "match" it's properties but it's still a bind creating the first one correctly.
I have a few dozen variables that I am trying to store for use at the command line. I can only append to input area with the actual quickcalc open, how i can reinitialize the global variable list?
My goal is to be able to store any object type (mainly an image jpg/bmp) inside a part that is not accessable through the normal user interface to be used with my addin.
I have been searching around and it seems like GetPrivateStream is the way to go.
Any working example of GetPrivateStream in vb.net and confirm if it actually stores the data inside the part.
I can't find a solution anywhere or any decent referencing material for this. If there is a better method of achieving this?
