AutoCAD Map 3D :: Way To Use New Serial On Existing Installation
Jan 14, 2013
My Home use license for AutoCAD Map 3d 2011 expired on jan 8.My application manager provided me with a mail from Autodesk; the existing HULA is extended and amended.
Problem: a diferent serial number.I found a description of a way to change the serialnumber from within the application, that won't work for me since the application can't be sarted.....
Is there a way to use the new serial on my existing installation (without a reïnstal)?

Lisp file to get serial letters and numbers from existing ones,
I got a lisp file (attached) from experts in the form which does generate serial letters and numbers from existing ones.
The issue with this lisp file is that it doesn’t give the opportunity to choose the direction of numbering (top to bottom/bottom to top/left to right/right to left) as shown in the screenshot below
How this lisp can be developed to give the user the chance to choose the direction of numbering?

I currently have Premiere Pro CS5.5 installed as an upgrade from CS4. I have purchased a new, unopened copy of CS5.5 Master Collection Full Retail Version.
Should I deactivate and uninstall the existing installation of Premiere Pro before installing the Master Collection? I have made a clone of my OS drive just in case something goes wrong with the installation.

I'm trying to create an all new existing surface over existing ground. I have a TIN surface of the EG, and I have drawn overlay splines that describe the new surface, but how to go about creating that design surface.
It is a compound surface, open on one end and closed all around on the other, somewhat like a half of a football stadium, but with an irregular upper edge because I am needing to figure out cuts and fills to manipulate the EG into this new surface without costly major terraforming. There is about 40-50' vertical elevation between the "field" and the upper rim with a generally constant 7-10 deg. slope all around. I'm just at a loss to figure out how to approach this project, and am quite new to Civil 3D.

Some background: We have a composite surface of existing surveyed contours as a TIN pasted into existing aerial contours that we received from a client. We used polylines to generate our proposed contours, and then generated a proposed surface from that. We've made a blank surface, pasted in the existing surface, and are trying to paste in our proposed surface... only the existing contours outside of the proposed suface no longer line up correctly once we do.
We've tried applying the method laid out here: [URL] ........ (and the link referenced in the bottom) but are still having trouble getting the surface to work. We've tried offsetting as little as 0.25' and as much as 5' with the feature line draped over the existing surface, but it seemed that the greater the offset, the greater the discrepancy.
Just to make sure we even tried that correctly - should the breaklines that we add be standard or non-destructive? (I've tried it both ways with little success either way, so I don't know if it matters much in this instance, but perhaps for future reference it would work.)
I've attached a screen shot of our surfaces. The pink and green lines are the proposed contours, the white dashed are the existing. The outer red line is offset 0.25'. As I've mentioned, we've tried offsetting various amounts with decreasing success.

I have been running AutoCAD LT2002 on a very old desktop computer and am attempting to switch to my new laptop. I have the original CD, Serial No., and CD Key. I have switched computers many times in the past and have had no problems installing this software on any of them. This time, it is giving me a "serial number not valid" message and will not let me proceed with the installation. I had some difficulty entering the number initially (the label with the s.n. was quite faded, but I KNOW that the serial number is entered correctly now-- what do I do?

I have an image which is simply a one color gradient, with transparency from nothing to something. I would like to be able to access the existing gradient on the image and change only the color. I have hunted high and low and cannot see how to do this.
(I am familiar with how to make a new gradient and how to change the colors in a saved gradient via the gradient dialogue. But for the life of me, I can't see how to access an existing gradient on an image and change only this one parameter.

Is it possible to build a deployment package that prompts for the serial and product key when it's being installed? We have about 90 or so Engineers, our company refuses to pay for a network license and wants the pacakge deployed out through SCCM. But because of the way our company is set up we've got about 70 keys (some are multi activation. I could just build a package for the Standard and Premium suits and just prompt for the serial during installation.

I know I'm grasping at straws, but I have an old HP Draftpro 7570A pen plotter (D size) that still works quite well. At least it did using Autocad 2009. I recently installed Autocad 2014 and now I cannot get the plotter to work with it. Autocad says it cannot open the serial port. I have verified that the serial port settings match. I am using Windows 7(64). I do not have a windows driver for the plotter (HP doesn't think a plotter this old is worth writing a driver for), but I thought ACAD 2014 supported serial printing to this plotter (it's in the list). other than bite the bullet and buy a new plotter?
Once again, it was printing fine using ACAD 2009 but ACAD 2014 doesn't open the serial port.

my copy of CS4 did come from eBay, but it seems to be legit. I am running Vista Home Premium with plenty of RAM and HD space.
When I install Photoshop, either from the DVD or download, and enter my serial # it gives me the green check mark and brings me to the registration screen. I fill it out, and it then brings me into PS.
Now, when I close PS and restart, it again asks for a serial #. I enter the same number again and I get a red "X" and have to use a 30 day trial option.

I have the full version of Creative Suite Premium. I uninstalled it from my computer, reformated the hard drive, and reinstalled Windows XP. I went to reinstall CS and it says my serial key is invalid. I have done this in the past and have never had a problem. I also have 5 other computers in the house and same thing on all of them. Yes it is the full version and I purchased it from Adobe. I called Abobe and have since talked to 4 people and a supervisor. None of them can help me becuase my version is not supported anymore. They all want me to upgrade to CS4 and I really dont get anywhere with anyone. I personally do not need the upgrade, I am ok with just using the version I purchased in the past. For the amount of money these programs cost I am suprised the customer support only works for the past 2 versions. So currently CS4 and CS3 are the only supported versions right now. But when CS5 comes out CS3 will no longer be supported. So support has nothing to do with a time frame, its purely based on new versions that are produced. I asked them that if I upgrade to CS4 and it still says serial key invalid, will I be under warranty to get my money back? They stated it is impossible not to work. They said they will just issue a new serial number and then it will work. However, right now they cannot issue me a new serial number for my old version becuase they dont support it. Now I have read about alot of people saying this same exact thing has happend to them, not just the fact that it doesnt work anymore, but the fact that Adobe in no way helps with this matter unless you pay for an upgrade. My opinion now is Adobe makes the codes invalid on purpose after a certain period of time to force you to upgrade. Maybe this is a little far fetched, but what other explanation can their be? Adobe has confirmed wih me on the phone I am in the system and the serial number I have is a valid number. They do not deny that, but I am pretty much at a dead spot here. I either upgrade or cant use the software that was purchased just a few years ago. What I would like people to post is not only ideas of anything else that can be done to resolve this issue, but your opinion to the invalid serial number idea and if this has ever happend to you and if you were forced to upgrade by Adobe...........

I bought and downloaded CS4 upgrade. The first install on my desktop went fine. When trying to install the second on my laptop, the serial number box turns up a red x immediately upon typing it. I have verified my serial number and re-typed it numerous times. I did an on-line chat and after a half hour wait was told they couldn't help me. Gave me two phone numbers to call for licensing problem, both long distance. I called both numbers and got fax machines both times.

ive been using my copy for about 8 months straight without any problems, yesterday I start up photoshop as I do every day and BLAM, it tells me the serial Ive been using is no longer valid. When i try to re enter the serial it gives me a big fat red cross. The weird thing is that the 32bit version seems to work just fine.I already tried re installing the program, used the CS4 cleaning utility and whatnot, but still the same problem, 64 bit asks for serial, 32bit works, I have 8 gigs of ram in my rig and hate to let it all go to waste by using the 32 bit,

-Upgarded my Hard Drive
-Tried to reinstall PS CS4
-recieved error message on first screen saying that I had the wrong number
-Called Support, spoke to a lady I could barely understand (thick East Indian accent) and she couldn't help me directly bc of my outdated SW and referred me to the Forums
-poured over forums for almost 2 hours, found the same problem and the solution was "Call them back and insist on a supervisor who can at that point give you and override" ARRRG!
-called back, sw gentleman with accent worse than the first rep and explain all of the above
-Was told repeatedly that my Serial number does not resemble a current number
-Asked repeatedly to speak to a Super
-Rep kept putting me on hold and then returning with the same damn questions!!!!
-I finally excused myself and hung up.

Is there a way to locate my serial number without the CD or package my Photoshop CS5 came in? I can't find either of those items, but I need the serial to upgrade to the new CreativeCloud.
I've looked on forums and some people have said to close and re-open Photoshop and the serial will appear, but that doesn't happen for me.

I have been running a valid copy which I registered when I installed. Recently get a message to uninstall, re-install then contact support. When contacting support, they say the SN is invalid and refer me here. I registered the SN three years ago, and it is no longer there. I have CS3 Dreamweaver, and InDesign which the registration is no loger in the myProducts file either. I haven't tested, but am assuming I will have a similar problem with them as well.

hard drive where I had installed my PS3E died, so I bought a new 500G hard drive to replace it. I also bought a laptop the same day.
When I try to register on either computer, Adobe tells me that my numbers are invalid. I assure you They Are Correct and They Are Quite Valid.
So when I signed up a moment ago, when I included my serial number, I GOT A MESSAGE SAYING THAT MY NUMBER HAS ALREADY BEEN USED, so apparently It Is Valid.
When I signed up to post on this forum, I received a message from Adobe saying that Someone Else was using my name, and it suggested that I include My Bloody Middle Initial!
Is it just me, or is This Absolutely The Most Inept System on Earth?
I need to register or apparently I will not be able to upgrade.

My O.S is Windows XP Pro (SP3) and my computer has more than enough nuts and bolts inside it to run NASA never mind CS4! My anti virus is AVG 8.5 and my firewall is Zone Alarm, both of which were disabled during the attempted install.I purchased the upgrade from the Adobe store (at £165) and had the box delivered - great so-far!However, when I came to install the upgrade, and after putting in the correct CS4 serial, a window opened to inform me that the system-profile search, failed to find the CS3 in the defaul location - and believe me it's there! I followed the on-screen instructions, typing-in the serial number of my (leagally-bought) CS3; to my horror, it told me that the serial number was 'not a valid copy' when it clearly is!!I have successfully installed the CS4 Upgrade only on a 30 day trial basis but still cannot register as it then tells me that BOTH my serial numbers are invalid. Suffice to say that the 30 day trial version was later uninstalled and I am now back to square-one and £165 poorer!I have opened a case with Adobe but after over a week have still had no reply. Phoning customer support in the UK was also a no-no as their office hours (9-5 Mon to Fri) are not compatible with me as I cannot be next to my machine during these times (Unless I take a day off!) My next option is to phone the States but hey - it's only money!!My question is therefore - can anyone help or make suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue. A point to note that after buying and installing CS3 I notice in the headline (once the programme is running) it is labelled 'CS3 EXTENDED' yet this is not written on the box - is this normal? The CS4 Upgrade was the same so it looks like I am trying to install a like-for-like product.
