AutoCAD Map 3D :: 2011 Connection To ArcSDE Version 10
Feb 27, 2012Does Autocad Civil 3D 2011 can connect to ArcSDE 10, or do we need a higher version? When I put in the credentials, it errors and is asking about an sde91.dll.

View 1 RepliesWe are experiencing an infuriating and time wasting problem with SDE connected data.Users are properly set up (all 64 bit .dlls installed into the proper folders) and are using Autocad Map 2012 or Civil 3d 2012 (64 bit).
This problem does not happen every time but all too often. It is erratic and unpredictable in how it occurs between users.
When a given user makes a .dwg with connected data mixed with Autocad entities (or not for that matter) they can connect and work on a drawing normally. Once the .dwg is saved, another user will attempt to open the file. A couple of things will occur. One a 'fatal error' may happen and Autocad will have to be restarted. The other, and more common, is that the Autocad entities will begin to show and then when it appears to try to make a connection to the SDE Autocad will hang (the 'spinning circle of death' appears. Again this does not happen every time but very often.
The workaround to to recover the .dwg file, which deletes all connections and connected data, and then re-build the connected data. however, once that .dwg is shared again the entire problem may well happen again.
Ive recently upgraded from AutoCAD map 2011 to 2012. But my connection to ArcSDE doesnt seems to work anymore.
My connection is the same as with 2011 using the pe.dll, sde.dll, sg.dll files.
Getting this message:
Unable to establish connection to provider.
FDO Provider entry point function 'CreateConnection' returned NULL.
I have yet to be able to connect to our ArcSDE database using 2011. In 2009 and 2010 Civil 3D I had to move 3.dll files from my ESRI directory to the FDO/bin directory for Civil 3D. This immediately allowed for a connection using CAD's Data Connect.

Is there any way to put the 2011 topobase and the 2011 ArcGIS plugin into 2012 or 2013? Seems such a shame just to lost all of that functionality.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to ver 2012 from ver 2000. I have numerous macros that were written for the older version that I need to utilize in ver 2012. I manually recreated them in the new version by typing in the commands from ver 2000. As I expected I am getting errors when I try to run these macros in Ver 2012. The mlayer command, for example, does not work. I am pretty sure I need to use the -layer command and have tried this but I still get errors. While I am relatively proficient in ver 2000 I am having some trouble finding commands in ver 2012 that match the old version. Below is an example of a macro from ver 2000 as well as my attempt to rewrite it in ver 2012.
^C^C(mlayer "notes" "cyan" nil) -insert;B6;insert;;;;$S=NUMB0
my rewrite:
^C^C(-layer;m;"notes" "cyan" nil) -insert;B6;insert;;;;$S=NUMB0

I'm trying to get connection to WMS; however after the connection is made, I don't get any layers in my list.
I've been trying many times, and the same result.
The situation is that the original Imagery were in LL84 and the provider transferred them to local CRS; since then I don't get any layers to view! Though I was able to see them before the transformation has made.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've run into a problem with my "Jet.oledb.4" connection string not working for x64 machines. I've done some research and found out a few things, but am still confounded.
The code was written on a x86 XP machine with vb.net 2010 express. AutoCAD will load the dll just fine on x64 machines. Everything will work except the connection to the database. I tried installing the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable for x64, but couldn't because the MS Office installed is x86!! Instead I installed the x86 version, but got the same unhandled exception at runtime.
Do I need to have the current x86 MS Office uninstalled and then install the x64 version of MS Office on those machines? Is it that the code is compiled as x86? If so, how can I compile to x64? I didn't see any options in settings, and haven't been able to find any examples.
The thing I really don't understand is that the same connection string ( "Jet.oledb.4") works in an old VBA routine on all machines!!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've copied Standard CC libraries to read/write libraries and modified the tables. Mostly fasteners. I've prefixed the family name and family description with our company name. When I "place from content center", it's easy to see our content because the families are prefixed with our company name. However, when I use bolted connection, some of the families do not show our family name as a prefix like "place from content center" does. People constantly pick the wrong fasteners. They select fasteners without our Item number, etc. Then, they need to delete the fastener and try again. I can't seem to get bolted connection to show some fasteners with the company name prefix like Place from CC does. However, some families do show it.

Is it possible to break my bolted connection, so that i can change the information given by inventor in the BOM? Its always grayed out and i can`t seems to find a way to make it "ungrayed".
I could change it directly on the .idw but me and my project leader would like to not go on that road. Our teams are seperated in to two. Ones in charge of modeling & the other is in charge of the presentation. We would like to give, as much as possible, not to much leeway on those in charge of the presentation.
I'm trying to create a assembly with .NET to draw all objects from a chosen spec. I started from Plant3D SDK which have a sample project. Autodesk ADN support is too slow to answer some basic questions since they have changed support platform recently.
After hours searching and trying to reach the main goal, I understood how connections between objects are done. The connector is based on End Type of objects. I'm not a meterial guy, so everything is much more difficult to me At CreatePipeline (..Plant SDK 2013SamplesPipingCreatePipeline) sample we have a class PipelineConnector which create connector. The main problem is only Buttweld connector code is available at CreatePart method in this class. I'm needing a piece of code where creation for others connector types such as Socketweld are shown.
the CreatePart code below:
public override void CreatePart() { Database db = AcadApp.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.Database; ContentManager cm = ContentManager.GetContentManager(); part.Position = InsertPoint; part.SlopeTolerance = 0.1; part.OffsetTolerance = 0.0; if (ConnTypeName.Equals("Gasket")) { // Gasket // //PartName = "Gasket"; var spGPart = GetSpecPart("Gasket"); PSPColl.Add(spGPart); var blockSubPart = new BlockSubPart(); ObjectId Id = ObjectId.Null; try { if (spGPart.PropValue("ContentGeometryParamDefinition") != null) Id = cm.GetSymbol(spGPart, db); blockSubPart.SymbolId = Id; } catch { } part.AddSubPart(blockSubPart); // BoltSet // var spBPart = GetSpecPart("BoltSet"); BoltSetSubPart boltsetSubPart = new BoltSetSubPart(); boltsetSubPart.PartSizeProperties.NominalDiameter = NomDia;
