Is there a way to save an idw sheet to FULL SCALE dwg drg, so that all the views are full scale and also maintain all dimensions and annotations in one uniform scale?
I need to do this for the flat patterns that go to the steel mill to get laser cut, and they want all the pertinent info accompanying the view/part-profile.

I'm trying to put together some iLogic code to either check all the drawing views within a drawing sheet are all the same scale, or make the views all the same scale. These drawing sheets consist of a number of individual parts (they aren't projected views from a single part).
This is for welded assemblies. We are required to generate a profile drawing sheet outlining each part that makes up the assembly. We send these out as dwg files for laser cutting so its important that the views are all the same scale.
How can I scale a view or all views in a sheet thru VB?I searched in the forum but I failed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new at using Adobe Illustrator and I am having a problem when I try and open an AutoCAD file (.dwg).
The file does not open to the right size, full scale. And some of the radius do not open as radius but as angles.
I have lots of section views with some surfaces and pipes. Unfortunately, in a number of section views pipes are not shown in full height because the section view level range is too little. What I am wondering is - is it possible to automatically adjust section level ranges so that they fully include pipe sections? Please see also the image in the attachment.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe sheet set manager is an awesome tool (i just started using it a week ago). The problem is, whenever I place a view on my sheet, (by right clicking>place on sheet) and it says "Scale: 1:1 Right-click to change scale", i right click and all i get is:
"Invalid point. Specify insertion point:"
But here's the twist: Sometimes it does work (like 10% of the time) but most of the time it annoyingly doesn't. here are some photos:

like i said, sometimes it works. I do a few rituals (i just invented) before getting it to show this scales list like right clicking rapidly or holding rightclick repeatedly but not rapidly. and "SOMETIMES" it does work. but more often, it doesn't. cadtutor 5.jpg
Possible to control (i.e.: set up & check the current value) the drawing scale directly from the command bars, without having to get deep into the Options menu (which is really unpractical and slow).
Actually there is a "Drawing scale" icon, but it allows to choose only among a limited selection of values: if the required drawing scale is outside this range (which happens quite often in my job), there is no alternative from the Options way.Moreover, if the scale is not included into the above-mentioned selection of values, the icon will not show the set scale value, but only a totally useless "Custom" string.
I have a 3D part, which I want to scale down to 0.5 the size in X and Y direcions, but I don't want to scale it down in Z direction.
Is this even possible? How do I go about doing it?
I'm using InDesign CS5 to create a calendar. I am using rotated view for the spreads. I have page 4-27 I want to send to my client for proofing. I only want the "smallest File" for screen viewing ioption. I've never had a problem creating PDFs. This is the first time using viewer spreads rotated. Wondering if this is creating the problem.
The background task panel has been stuck at 42% for over an hour. InD won't let me quit the save. It won't allow me to close the project window, or Force quit the program.
I have a complex (includes tints) clip art object that needs printing in a specific pantone color I just convert it to grayscale using edit>find and replace objects>color mode. then print it as a black plate and just use another color on press.
Today I had to send off artwork to another printer. Dang. How to install a macro. Import clip art to be modified to a new document, do not do this in your working document.
Use Edit>Find and Replace> Find Objects
Replace a color model or palette. Next
Leave as is except change Replace with color model to "Grayscale" Next>Replace all
Repeat 2-4 for 'outlines' if you have them.There you now have a gray scale clipart, but the fun continues!You'll need to know what pantone color you want to use. Let's say Reflex Blue. I am trying to create a second base view (using Layout/Create View/Base from model space). The problem is, I need it to be rotated from the original base view. However, when I rotate the part in model space, ALL of my views change.
So I guess my question is, how do I create multiple views of the same part that are seperate from the other base views?
i have views lets say 3 views on a sheet but in the list of views theres mores that appears maybe i inserted the extra views that are showing but i deleted them to put them on another sheet
the problem is they show up in the list of both sheet and i can't delete them from the list of the sheet that they were before
Everytime I try to save a file in PS it tells me I can't because the disk is full.I have to save it to the desktop and then cut/paste it into the folder I want.So annoying and time consuming! been doing this for months. How can I correct this?
View 12 Replies View RelatedIf I take an image, and using the path tool, draw an area, then do a selection from path, cut/copy and paste as 'new image' then save the new image as a .bmp, .jpg etc, I am getting the whole original image instead of the cut an pasted portion. The full image does not show up as long as the drawing remains in .xcf (the background is a grey checkerboard). When saved as .jpg or .bmp the checkerboard is replaced by the original source image that it was cut from. This is Gimp 2.6.11 under Linux.
I have checked for extra layers, tried removing alpha channels, doing a 'copy visible' and re-pasting, merging of all layers all to no avail. It doesn't always happen either so there must be something, some setting or clicky box somewhere.
I'm trying to export an animated gif with 52 frames - I'm using the timeline in CS6, it's exported correctly in the past but when I try and save for web only a seemingly arbitrary number of rames appear in the animation. With no clear route to rectify this, I've tried to affect the outcome by simply moving things around on the timeline.
I've had a variety of frame ranges (and frames) numbering between 2 and 6 frames, far off my 52 target. It's a simple image and equally simple transition to keep filesize down
I work in full screen with Menu Bars 98% of the time. I also enjoy the new save in background feature. The problem is that when in full screen I can't tell when it's saving and the status of the save. This is particularly frustrating when I'm trying to close a file. I think there needs to be an option to have it save in background but pop up a status window, or some way to see the status of the save while in full screen.

Instead of ” view 1”, “view2” why not have it name itself the file name, the same goes for a parts-list added to idw sheets? When slow clicking them to rename they already have the file name referencing the view or parts list. I have multiple views and multiple parts list on many sheets. Re-naming them is starting to get old!
I took a quick look at “ILOGIC” because that’s my “ILOGIC” speed and nothing jumped out at me.

I have a series of drawings to make, that consist of two view each. I need to make them as consistant as possible, as far as the distance from view to view, accross the drawings.
So I am trying to create section views that detail the correct assembly of two parts.
These parts are welded on top of each other so its important to have clear understanding of how they fit together.
So imagine a pipe bent in the shape of a circle, in the horizontal plane, then holes drilled into the top (vertically) and then another pipe fitting in the holes and being welded together. This is what is happening.
So I am trying to create a section view of one of the holes with the welding information.
When I go to create the section view, I draw a line that would pass through the center of the large horizontal circle (but doesnt) and the center of the hole I am trying to detail and through to the outside of the horizontal pipe.
Now with this line I should get a view of the assembly exactly perpendicular to the line from that point. This is what is called "Aligned" in Inventor and what I was taught as a "Section View". However, this is not the case at all. I get what is called a projected section view.
find a way to get an "Aligned" view of this without sectioning the entire assembly. I just want the small bit necessary to show the relevant information.
Let's say I have a flat pattern view of my part and the bended top view of the same part on the same drawing and I want both of the left side of each to be in line. (The right side shortends after the bends occur but the left side is not changed at all)
Work around:
1. Export to autocad and line them up with the osnaps, etc
I know how to sketch per view and project geometry but thats still on each view and when I try to line them up I am using my eye. Is there a better way to line both up even though their on different views?

I have one base view and one draft view created all at point1 with the same scale. It seems to me the base view's center is at point1. But not that of the draft view.
Just wondering how to overlay them to looks like one view with the same origin point. Or what coordinate I adjust, so I can draw on draft view, but looks like I was drawing on the base view?
Some additional lines are needed in drawing but can't get from projection of a model.
When creating Views in .ipn files, using View Reps from .iam files, you get "Options" window where you can check Associative box, or leave it unchecked. How do yo get back to this window once the view is created?

It seems that whenever I save the associated model, there is a chance that it ruin the drawing by scattering views, dimensions and sketches randomly.
We recently started using Inventor DWG files (shifting away from IDW).
Part of the process for one of our programmers is to open a DWG file using AutoCAD Mechanical 2012, delete all unused dimensions and views, and use the remaining view to program his CNC machine. We are finding that this is not possible to do with the new format Inventor DWG files, as the views are not able to be selected.
What is the AutoCAD 2012 procedure for deleting views created with Inventor DWG?
