Is there a simple way to retrieve the mouse position in the inventor window? I know about using mouse events but i don't want the position on click etc. just where it's at when i run my code.
View 9 RepliesSome months ago I created an iLogic code that creates all my notes that I use in my drawings, linked to a form. A good tool the made my work a little easy. Now I wanna make an update on it.
In my code I create a sketchedSymbol and then some textBoxes with my notes, but before that I erase all the Symbols in all sheets and then the main Symbol itself. Then I create again the symbol and textBox in a specific point of my Sheet. So, everytime that I need to update my Notes, it goes to that point of the sheet, it's not a problem, but it's annoying have to move them always to the correct place.  And i  can't use a specific final point for the notes because it may change according to the drawing.
So, my idea is:Â
If the Symbol is already created, how can I get its position ?
I create the points with TransientGemometry and then CreatePoint2D, but I dont know how to retrieve these points, even if that is possible.
The code I use is that below (I just erase the notes because it was too big, this is just the main code creating the stuffs).

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn PS CS4, my cursor position often "jumps around" in a very random way, the instant the mousebutton is pressed. For example, when using the brush tool, it will start drawing on a completely different place than the cursor was positionen when I wanted to start painting... The same thing for the lasso tool, etc... I use Vista home 32-bit, CS 4 with latest patches (as of 2009-04-14) and a standard cordless Microsoft mouse - nothing fancy. Mouse works in all other programs 100% of the time.

I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off. Does any of Autodesk's software, such as AutoCAD, have the option of turning it off?

Am using the "pre-defined" walls in Autocad Architecture 2010, with equally pre-defined windows.
I have found where to change ("Edit window style") virtually every parameter of the window, e.g. frame and sash depths.
However - I can not find a way to change the position of the the glass in the window relative to the interior/exterior of the wall. (see attached image for clarification)
I hope I am making myself understood - the glass could for example (assuming the depth of the frame is the same as that of the wall it sits in) be located 40mm from the exterior of the wall - or 10mm.
When I try to use a window zoom in a layout viewin model space my window offsets the the right and below the mouse pointer by a consideral distance. Window zoom works correctly in Model Space and in layout view in paper space. It is doing it in all of my drawings New or Old so I'm guessing its a global setting of some type.

Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI drop multiple photos into Photoshop then drag one at a time away from the tab bar in order to place these photos onto one layered image. I can do this but the photo I have dragged down remains positioned where i dragged it to and cant be freely moved to another part of the screen. It springs back like its on a rubber band. This is a problem when I wish to close the floating window and don't have the top right close button visible.
I have to return it to the tab top bar in order to open it then close the window. I previous versions of PS this was not a problem and now requires all these extra steps to solve. Its very frustrating when I have to work like this all day. I have PS CS6 on MS WIN7. Is there a preference selection I can make. I want to make photoshop windows behave like MS windows and remain where I drag them to.
I have actions in CS1 to open :
"Levels" window so I can individually adjust & save
"File info" window so I can individually add text & saveÂ
The former window I can move & all following windows will open in new position.The latter I can move but next image always opens centrally again. Any way to make "File info" window open off to one side?
os windows 7, upgraded to Gimp 2.8.4 I open an .xcf file and go to single window mode. everthing looks ok the zero offsets on the rulers are where they should be and I can see the bottom of the gimp window where the % size change is. I then ask for a new tool bar which is provided and locked to the widow. if i go to full screen and then back the picture is pushed down as are the ruler zero's and i now can't get to the bottom of the screen. this annoying behavior does not seem to happen in multi window mode. attached is a screen capture.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running CS4. (all updated fyi). A few days ago my tools started behaving strangely. Specifically for any tool that has multiple beneath it. Like the type tool or shape tool for instance. The problem is that when I click a tool (with a mouse OR trackpad) it auto expands. It's not supposed to do this. It's supposed to select the top most tool with a single click. If I want the expanded menu I would click and hold or right click.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Windows 7 Home Premium x64, GIMP does not properly restore the position of the Toolbox window with "Save window positions on exit" checked in Preferences > Window Management. The Toolbox window does retain its size, but is placed in a seemingly random place in the top-left area of the screen every time GIMP is launched. Other windows retain their size and shape perfectly. I've searched for a solution to this problem but couldn't find one.

In the past we filled in our changes, we did on the part, in the iProperties of the IDW. In the IDW we use some Custom iProperties for this. That's not usefull because you want this data in the 3D-model. Now I have written some code to automate this, which works really great. This code works in the IPT as well as the IDW. But what I want to achieve is: When my IPT is the active document, I want to read out the iProperties from the IDW to check if there is already filled some of these properties, because I have to deal with 'old' documents as well.
So my basis question is: How can I read out iProperties from an IDW into the IPT. I have found lots of solutions which go the opposite direction, IPT -> IDW. I want IDW -> IPT.
Is it possible to retrieve the changes done on C drive before version from Vault overwritten them with older version?

In the right Mouse click drop down window the Paste, Paste as Block and the Paste to Original Coordinates are grayed out.
The copy with Base Point works, as does the Ctrl+V and Ctrl+Shift+V and repeat Paste Block from the recent Input drop down selection. Why the paste commands are grayed out?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently been playing with the "Retrieve Dimension" feature in IDWs to pull the model dimensions and tolerances from the IPT. I'm wondering if I am understanding the behavior correctly.
The IPT Document Settings > Default Tolerance "Use" and "Export" standard tolerance values boxes are checked.
I have standard tolerances defined for .xx and .xxx precisions. Default in the IPT is .xxx.
If I place a sketch dimension and extrude a feature, place that part in an IDW, and "Retrieve Dimension," the result is that the dimension's precision and tolerance are defined by the active IDW style.
However, if I place the sketch dimension, and then modify its precision to be something other than the IPT default, when I "Retrieve Dimension" in the IDW, it pulls the modified precision and tolerance from the IPT settings.
Is this the expected behavior? When I see the box in the IPT Default Tolerance tab that says "Export Standard Tolerance Values," I understand that to mean that the standard tolerance values in the IPT will be propagated to the IDW. Is this incorrect?

I typically have a part file with bunch of sketch blocks as die drawings.I use those for rest of my workflow.
If I want to make drawings of these sections.
Is there a way by which I can retieve all dimensions from the sketch of the sketch blocks (die) on to a drawing.
I know that I can get model sketches but I do not know a way to get the model sketch dimensions.

I am trying to retrieve dimensions from an assembly. The features that I want were created in the assembly itself, not on the original parts in the assembly. I can manually dimension some of the features, but there are others that I need to retrieve. When I retrieve dimensions from the assembly, I am only given the original dimensions for the parts.
