Dec 19, 2012I have a project that has all sorts of Hardware. What is the best way to find out there names?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Can't Find Content Center Items In Assembly
Mar 20, 2012When my colleague opens one of my assembly's which has content center items in it his inventor cannot find them and vice versa. I am assuming my content center items are coming from my hard drive and not a server from the same place as him. How do you set it up so both our computers take content items from the same location?

Sep 25, 2013I recently did a pack and go on a top level assembly. Kept folder hierarchy. Included linked files. Included referenced files. All OK so far.
Then opened the assembly in the “Pack and go” folder I created to put it, and it cannot find all the content center parts, such as the ASME eccentric reducer and M24 bolt – see attached i.e. I had to resolve the links. I know they came over with the pack and go as they are in the “Libraries” folder.
Inventor Professional 2014.
Windows 7 64 bit.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Create Component From Content Center
Oct 18, 2013Today, all of a sudden, my coworkers and I cannot place standard parts from our content center (there are only three of us). We are not using Vault - but we have set up our Content Center to access a network location:
N:StandardsInventorContent Center FilesLibraries
This has worked for months ever since we set it up. Problems just started today for all of us. Parts that DO work are parts that you have to tell it an extruded length (like structural steel or tube/pipe). Nothing else will work (fasteners, pipe fittings, shaft collars, etc).
Interestingly, if I select to insert the part "as custom" instead of "as standard", all parts work like they should.
For the parts that do not work, I can navigate through all of the menus to select parts, but instead of getting the "Save As" dialogue, I get the "Unable to create component" error message.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Update Content Center Parts
Aug 21, 2012I have some parts published in the Content Center. I need to modify a dimension on some parts. I can edit the family table and modify it. The new dimensions are right. But if I open an assembly which use older versions of the modified parts, when I try to update the Content Center parts, Inventor says all standard parts are up to date. When I insert the modified from the CC, I obtain the old version.
I don't have local versions of the part.
If I insert the part with option "Update standard parts when insert", I have the old version too.
I have already made these modification on other parts with no problem, what is wrong with this part ?
I use Inventor 2010 SP4.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Content Center - Unable To Place Component
Jan 19, 2012I am using Windows 7 64bit and Inventor 2012 SP1 (Build 190). When placing a new content center item an error message of "Unable to place component" is reported. Content center was working previously.
I determined the problem resulted in using a custom Date format in the Windows Region and Language setting. To duplicate go to Control Panel -> Region and Language ->Formats Tab -> Additional settings button -> Date tab and change the Short date format to a custom format (I was using ddd M/dd).
To fix simply reset to a standard date format.
Note that this can be done whilst Inventor is running and I have have submitted a bug report. None of the standard date formats resulted in errors. I have tested "ddd-dd/M", "ddd/MMM/yyyy", "yyyy/MM/dddd", and "yyyy-MM-ddd" and all resulted in an error. "yyyy-MM-dd" did not result in any error.

He has Inventor installed on his D drive, along with most of his other programs. OS, etc are on the C drive. I have verified that he has harness.iam and a Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl in the following location for Inventor 2013
C:UsersPublicPublic DocumentsAutodeskInventor 2013Design DataCable & Harnessen-US. As a stab in the dark, I had him copy those files over to his workspace, and re-start Inventor, but same result. Latest updates are installed.

Nov 28, 2012Please see attached image (I have tried to attach the part file but file size is to large to upload). I have created a sheet metal part, then converted to a solid component to utilize the bend tool. The actual part will need to overlap at the ends and will be joined using spot welds. I would like to be able to illustrate the overlap in the inventor model if possible but how to achieve this.

Feb 17, 2012I have a dll which shows simple dialog, which in its constructor reads from a file located in the same folder as the dll, to populate some of the controls in the form, like combo boxes. The assembly works perfectly at local pc, but when I take release copy of the dll and the file at work, I cannot read from the file.
I am able to load the dll with the Netload, but when i start the command it shows - "Unable to find assembly 'Pressurized Pipes, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=null'. And when I click OK button shows second dialog saying "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Invalid Argument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex.

It seems to me that I am not able to Deserialize the file and read from the list in the file, which list I use to populate the combobox.
I am using just the name of the file to deserialize it, assuming that the dll will look in the folder where the dll is located.
AutoCad :: Unable To Find Setting That Would Need To Be Changed?
Aug 13, 2012I opened my Autocad today to discover that none of the drawings I open are displaying any type of text. This includes dimension text, multi/single line text, and titleblocks. My coworkers can open with text, so I am confident that it is a setting of some sort in my program. I have looked thropugh every menu and option and I have been unable to find the setting that would need to be changed.

I just have the 4 squares for array when I click on it I can request polar as the array type but it gives me a quirky menu with grips and does not allow me to set fill angles and number of pieces.
