AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Create FEA Simulation

I have a very simple part I am trying to check using FEA; however when I get into the Simulation environment and click 'New Simulation' from Ribbon nothing happens.
The part in question is just a simple cylinder (I'm verifying what would be the best meshing spec to use in a larger assembly).
I am not able to edit degrees of freedom (dof) after playing a simulation.
This is what I did:
Created a dynamic simulation and imposed motion on a prismatic joint.Edit dof and Input Grapher before playing the simulation.Play the simulation.After playing simulation for first time, dof and Input Grapher are dimmed (grayed out) and can not be edited.

I am using Inventor 2012. A simple example is attached.
I have to make a vice and I am trying to make the vice move. I am trying to use the screw simulation in dynamic simulation but don't know how to do it? I have only made the screw and the nut or the thing that it screws into to make the vice work.
I have an assembly with a FEA simulation result. I can run a report and get the reaction forces and moments at each constraint. I would like to run a new simulation with different constraints and use the reaction results from the first simulation as loads in the second one.
Currently I do this by running a report on the 1st simulation to get a table of the reaction results. I then manually add those forces to the 2nd simulation. This takes time to type and the forces must be edited each time I re-run the 1st simulation.
Is there a way to use parameters to automate this?
Below is my test procedure for "Create Curve Mesh Element" by Inventor simulation 2012.
1. I made a box 100(W)X100(D)X20(H) with 2xR20 (mm) fillets at the opposite edges.
2. I copied a box I made for making 2 type mesh.
3. I made mesh on the box without "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374 Element number: 1365
4. I made mesh another model with "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374 (same number, not increase) Element number: 1365
Mesh shape is different(please refere attachiment jpeg file).
I think that "Create Curved Mesh Element option" is not for making second tetrahedron elements.But I cnanot the true porpose of "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.For only P method, not H method?
now a have a typical error to insert in my assambly a item from my content center, reciveing a erro like "unable to create component", i´m looking for a solution inside forums and find a solution but didn´t work for me, the solution watched and did for me as deleted of the content folder "CACHE" in my computer C:/....all users/inventor..../cache.
I use AI2009 with SP1.
What can i do, delete all families from content center and upload again?
I want to creat a flatpattern of an iregulary cut cylinder that was made in the standard .ipt world and is now converted into a sheetmetal. I want to "Unroll" the piece out so can see the shape of it as a flat piece. Picture of it is attached.
I can't get Inventor to create a flat pattern of the attached sheetmetal part. It's a pretty basic part, just five folds. I'm not getting any error issues - when I go to the flat pattern it just shows the folded part (picture attached).
I assume it has something to do with the way I folded it and the notches, etc. Inv makes to accomplish the fold. I'm using Inventor 2013 on Win 8.
I have just downloaded an educational version of Inventor. Although I can create sketches I cannot extrude the sketch to form a solid. The origin arrow heads appear over size and it seems as if the origin plane is being extruded to form a solid!
I have one particular file which will not allow me to add an iLogic form. When I select "Add Form" it does nothing. This only happens in this one file. I can open other files in the same session and they work fine. I can add iLogic rules to this file but I can't create forms.
I have recently installed Inventor Professional 2012 Student Version, and I'm unable to create a new file, as the program crashes as I try to do so.
After starting Inventor, I select New than Standard.ipt. The file starts loading, the status of the loading process can be seen in the bottom left corner, than the "Open Documets in Session" counter in the bottom right corner changes from 0 to 1, as it should, I guess. And than, the program freezes. Sometimes, a message appears after several minutes that an error has occured, and that I should send an error report to Autodesk (which I did); but sometimes, no message appears at all, it simply crashes.
My computer specs are: Intel Core 2 @1,86 GHz, 2 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX, 60 GB free space, Windows Vista (hotfix installed) Not a powerhouse, but I think it should be able to start a file properly I think, if I understand the system requirements correctly.
We are running Inventor 2013 and I am trying to create a simple positional representation of a small assembly. For some reason, the "New" option is grayed out in the positional representation browser.
I can't remember ever having trouble creating them in past releases.....
Today, all of a sudden, my coworkers and I cannot place standard parts from our content center (there are only three of us). We are not using Vault - but we have set up our Content Center to access a network location:
N:StandardsInventorContent Center FilesLibraries
This has worked for months ever since we set it up. Problems just started today for all of us. Parts that DO work are parts that you have to tell it an extruded length (like structural steel or tube/pipe). Nothing else will work (fasteners, pipe fittings, shaft collars, etc).
Interestingly, if I select to insert the part "as custom" instead of "as standard", all parts work like they should.
For the parts that do not work, I can navigate through all of the menus to select parts, but instead of getting the "Save As" dialogue, I get the "Unable to create component" error message.
I created a template part, turned it into an I-part and published it successfully as a Frame Member.
The custom member was published into a custom library that is read/write. I was forced to create this library in order to publish the part.
When I go to use the custom profile with the frame generator, I am able to find the custom member in the dialog but when the frame generator tries to generate the part, I get this error message:
[WARNING] Frame Generator: Errors occurred during inserting Frame Member(s) [WARNING] Insertion of frame member(s) failed [ERROR] A frame member could not be created. The template file for Unnamed GIRT-2 could not be located in the Content Center library.
I would like to ask how can I create white foam in a water simulation like the photos bellow....Of course this has been done in a 3D software and specifically in Maya. I want to ask if something similar can be done entirely in After effects (in a smaller scale).
Using Red Giant Psunami for creating the water simulation is OK. But psunami doesn't support foam so it is not that realistic. Some plugins combination maby that can provide the foam effect?
I have assemblies that are comprised of reference parts - the assembly is a purchased part such as an air cylinder. I have them as reference only in the assembly (ie right click on the parts in the model tree->BOM Reference->Reference). I do it this way so I can adjust the air cylinder how I need it, but still only asign one part number to the whole assembly - as an example we'll say "cylinderX" is the part number, and filename is "cylinderX.iam"
The problem arises when I put cylinderX.iam into other assemblies and try and make drawings of those assemblies. Even though cylinderX.iam is not a reference part (but all it's sub components are), it shows up in an IDW just like reference parts. I am able to make it show up how I want by editing the view properties (Edit View->Model State Tab->Reference Data Line Style "as parts"), but I still cannot balloon cylinderX.iam. It shows up in the parts list, but I cannot attach a balloon to it.

The company I work for has a large number of Left Hand and Right Hand sheet metal parts. To reduce the amount of time needed to create both Left Hand and Right Hand sheet metal parts, I use the Derived Part icon. I create a Left Hand part, use the derive icon with mirroring on and create the Right Hand part. While the Right Hand sheet metal part gets created, the Right Hand part will not allow me to create a Flat Pattern.
what steps must I follow to create a derived sheet metal part that I can make a Flat Pattern with?
I've created a successful FEA simulation in Inventor 2014 and obtained results. But I want to see the highest stress in a defined area that is smaller than the entire part (I have some stress concentrations that are throwing off my 'max'). Is there a way to probe an area instead of just a point? I'm tired of creating a dozen probes to find the 'local max'.
I'm developing a program which runs several simulations and obtains the results automatically.
I'm using the dynamic simulation API created in Inventor 2013. For that I use the GetResultValues(ByRef values() as Double) method of the class DSResult.
I used the method inside the VBA of inventor and worked well. But when I wrote the program in Visual Basic Express 2010, the method doesn't return anything.

The method GetResultValues(values) should modify 'values' to a time,value vector.
It works well inside Inventor, but doesn't in the program in VB, although it runs the simulations and does everything else right.
I am looking to create a simple simulation of a character that walks at a constant velocity. The catch is that I want this character to always walk away from their shadow. I am using MR Sun so the idea is to have the character always looking at and walking towards the sun no matter the time of day. The animation takes place only during the day so I'm not concerned about any problems that would occur at night.
For the initial test it may be simpler if I remove the character and just use a "stand in" object to work out the kinks. I'm not worried about trying to use footsteps because that sounds messy. Once I have the solution I can hopefully just drop in a biped with a looping .bip
when in simulation, if you suppress a feature is it totally taken out of the simulations workings?
I.e. if I was working on a project like some weighing scales and I had a load of objects on the scales and I then suppressed some of the objects, will the scales rise up a little to counteract the reduced weight?
Is this type of gravity experiment possible with dynamic simulation?

I made the cone ramp and double cone but the cone either goes the wrong way or only moves a few inches in the correct direction and then gets stuck. I’m using 3D Contact Joints and Spatial Joints and Gravity Force.
i'm developing a hexapod robot and i want to simulate the motion of the robot's leg. The mechanical of robot's leg contain a servo motor that variate your angle between 0 to 330 degre. How can i delimite the angle of servo's rotation?
Other questions, is about the fixation with bolts. How can i do for the motion simulation respect the connection of the bolt? when i do a dynamical simulation the parts that contain bolts don't stay joints, i have to do a rule of fixation with constrains?
I'm designing multiple elements for a vehicle. I need to evaluate multiple dynamic results of multiple possible designs. All the design is parametric so it modifies quickly but I can't find a way to run the dynamic simulation multiple times automatically and get the results from the output grapher for each simulation.
I am trying to do it via API but can't find the class of the dynamic simulation environment in the Object Model Chart to program it via .NET.
