AutoCAD Inventor :: Textures That Also Act As Light Source?
Jan 30, 2013Just looking for some good effects to put on an art piece. Some sections are very dark and I'd like to add some accent to them. I know that solidworks was some textures that emit light, I was curious if there was anything like that in Inventor.

Mar 8, 2013I am trying to edit lighting styles for models in the edit wondow (not studio). On one only or several assembly models at once I am finding that the Style & Stnd/Lighting Editor has stability issues during editing.
After a number of edits to light settings using the scroll bars to change the lighting location, various buttons start to dissapear or turn black & the dialog fails to function, sometimes locking up Inventor.
Only solution is to close down & restart Inventor. Subsequent attempts to reopen & do it again result in same behavior if not worse.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Drawing Flickers From Dark To Light?
Mar 28, 2012I'm working on a drawing for a part and am getting annoying flickers from light to dark. What I am seeing happening is that everytime I pan or zoom (in or out) the drawing, the drawing lights up, and remains lit up until I move my mouse cursor over a view. When I do so, the entire drawing turns dark and remains dark until I pan/zoom the drawing again. So I am getting a constant dark - light flicker that I find very distracting.
I am only seeing this in this one drawing, however I do remember having this problem previously. In other drawings I have done, they will either be light (which I correspond to being normal) or the entire drawing will be dark. This I read has to do with the lighting in the source part file, but it never really bothered me.
Im on 2012 Iventor Pro, and Windows 7 Pro. 64bit with SP1.

Feb 14, 2011I am trying to animate a casino-like light board made of tens of light bulbs/leds. I thought the easiest way to do it would be creating a matrix of bulbs arranged by material ID and then design a pattern in multi sub-object materiel so I could somehow scrub through it and achieve animation effect. The material modifier allows to change ID for the whole object only and MaterialByElement shuffle ID`s in a random manner.

Dec 2, 2011I have created a rendering of an outdoor structure with some lights. There are lanterns on the front of the stone columns which I have placed lights in but no matter how I try to adjust them, the desired affect of having a soft glow in the lanterns can not be obtained. The light I created inside the structure is working fine. It's also funny how when I just view the model in Realistic mode the lights are seen and the give a soft glow like I'm looking for. But when I render it these lights might as well not even be there.
