View 9 RepliesI created my resume with horizontal lines to divide the sections, work history, education for example. When I exported the file as a PDF, it opens beautifully in Adobe Reader. However, when I open it on my iPad or iPhone, those lines are missing! What can I do to make those lines appear when I am viewing on my iPad?

When the recipient gets the email (on their iPad) the file has turned into a ".dat" file. It is definitely a .jpg when I send it out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI attached a sketch to a view, fully constrained the lines in the sketch to the PG from the lines in the standard view.
Everything looks good but when I click "Finish Sketch" and it leaves the sketch environment the lines from the sketch shift slightly out of alignment.
The dimensions I have to these lines are in the right locations so it looks like they aren't going to the sketch lines. But if I try to "connect" the dimensions to where the lines are actually being show it gives me errors saying there is nothing there to connect to.
While sectioning an assembly in .idw file, I dont want to see any thing that is behind the section line.
I am not talking about hidden lines. (I can switch of the hidden lines).
Some times, there are holes or opening while sectioning. Thru those openings, some of the parts that are behind the section planes are visible. I dont want to see anything.
How to do it? I am using INV2013.
Options like,
Option 1: Dont view anything more then 0.00mm or 1 mm behind. (Like section depth or view depth which can be entered)
Option 2: Switch off that are not sectioned.
See attached. Basically, the view for my IPN is not the same as the view from my assembly file. The view on the left in the attached PNG is of my IPN and the view on the right is my assembly LOD.
Any answer that will clarify why my IPN file shaded views are different from my IAM shaded views??

I need, using a macro, the ability to pre set the file that I am going to use as a "Base View" on a IDW file.
I call the ipt file "FRED.IPT", when I run the macro, it opens a new clean idw sheet and pre-sets the "Base View" to "FRED.IPT".
or
Automatically open a clean idw sheet and place the file "FRED.IPT" on the sheet, automatically.
In inventor 2013 professional I have a problem using the section view in my assemblies files. When I active the section view it works well, as soon as I open a command (for example the measure of a distance) the section view disappear and the assembly appear in entire view.I didn't modified any configuration on my software.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using Inventor 2013. but I've seen this in earlier versions of Inventor.
After creating a view within a drawing sheet, if you RMB on the view label, an option for Constrain to View Border appears.
What does this option do and how is it used? I don't see anything happening when I use this option.
I saved correctly in the file .ipt the view representation of a very simple part.
One is the view form the top and the other one is the view from the bottom.
When I try to put these two different views into the drawing, the view is the same, and it depends what is selected on the right of the windows.
I made a complex drawing.
Now i changed the part file just a little, the placement of a few holes, and saved it to a new name.
I need both versions.
In the Design Assistant i copied the drawing file to a new name.
Now i want, in the design assistant, to replace the file the drawing refferences, but can't, the replace option is greyed.
I understand there might be larger changes, is that the reason?
In some drawings, parts and trail lines will randomly disappear or get rearranged. Once the parts disappear, the only way we're able to get them back is by copy and paste the explosion into the presentation file and regenerate the view.what happened to the .idw file and how it should look.
We've tried replacing the video card and repairing the Inventor installation, but still experience the same issue on some drawings.Running Inventor 2008 on Windows XP.
Ive been using inventor for around 2 months now and its all been going good... ive recently done a rather complex assembly that id rather not redo... unfortunately... i ungrounded the base part fiddling with it trying to find a working constraint set for my needs (evenly spaces cylinders on a base plate and a centered on a mounting plate... i ended up using holes and the cylinders screw holes to align them but still this was AFTER i messed it up)
So now because of that the default view is skewed by roughly 45 degrees or so... now i have set the front view manually to reset the ground plane.... but if i stick this in a dwg as front its as if i did nothing... and yes i have triple check to make sure ive set the front view.
I have created a presentation file. When I record it and open up the media file only half of my model is seen throughout the video. Is there any way to widen the camera view?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I use File > Open or Place Component the Windows file browser opens in List mode which means that I have to use the horizontal scroll bar to browse the directory. I would like it to open in Detail mode [List and Detail are some of the view choices under the View Menu of the Windows file browser window] allowing me to browse with the vertical scroll bar. -- I think it's ergonomically eaisier.
I can make the change from the View Menu but it doesn't hold. I have checked to see that Windows 2000 is set for Details when using Windows Explorer.
Are there any settings in Inventor to force Detail mode?
Trying to the base view system in acad 2012. Got inventor model and want to document in acad. New blank layout tab. Select base view and as model space is empty it asks for inventor file as it should. I select my ipt file.
it then says 'invalid autodesk inventor file C:projects......'
the command then closes.
I created brand new part, plain cube, and still the same.
If I have a "idw" file open containing an assembly (asm), and another "idw" file containing a part (ipt), how can I determine, using a VBA macro the type of file that I have used (either "assembly" or "Part")
If the "Idw" file contains an assembly, running the maco should say "assembly". If it contains only a part (ipt) then it should say "part"..Is this possible using a vba macro?
I am having an issue with drawing files. I have set views on assembly files. But on the idw file it is showing wrong views... And this is making problems when i am trying to give dimensions. I have attached jpg files.

I'm in the process of creating an exploded view of an assembly. I'm having to do this in a presentation file, and I was wondering if it was possible to section one of the parts in the exploded view. To be more specific, I have the majority of my parts spread out around another assembly in the center of the page. I want to get a three quarter section view of the center assembly so the internals are visible. Is this possble from within a presentation file and if so, how can it be done?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started with a Left side view of a part and created a sectioned view right down the middle so you can see the insides from another view. the part is pretty big so i used a Break to shorten it to fit the page. I also placed a smaller and separate isometric view of the same part and want this view to inherit the same break. How can I do this? If I go into the display options of the iso view, all the cut inheritance options are grayed out and can't be clicked. I've seen this done before, but i'm sure i missed a step somewhere.

I have made an exploded view and placed it an a drawing. I would like to view inside one of the bodies to show where the exploded internals sit, however when I do a break out of the body the trail lines from the exploded internals also get sectioned. Is there a way to control the sectional properties of a trail line?
