I just moved Smoke from an office to my house. Have different IPs in both places. I understand that I need to change the IP on two places: the "hosts" file and on the license itself. Where can I find these files?

Here in my office we have several pc's running Inventor 2012 and we found out that when a network license is unavailable (the number of licenses is exceeded) then Inventor loses some of its configurations on OPTION window. The fields that are erased and put back to default:
- "General"Â Tab >> "Load VBA on start-up" is set to false;
-Â "General"Â Tab >>Â "Update physical properties on save" is set to false and "Parts and Assemblies" is unchecked;
-Â "File"Â Tab >>Â "Default VBA project" is set back to default;
- "Contet Center" Tab >> "Location of Libraries" is set to default
- Customized buttons on Ribbonbar loses its icons and we have to recreate them everytime it happens.
have a fix and a new implementation for the new versions to come?Â
I have the AutoCad 2011 lt disc's along with the case that has the serial number and product key. A co-worker of mine installed it on his laptop and used it for about a year. My co-worker was let go. He left without his laptop and a new IT person reformatted his laptop. I then took the disc's and installed them onto my desktop. I did this about a year ago with the intention of learning AutoCad. I had no trouble installing this. I'm pretty sure the license was for a single user, (according to my co-worker). Â
My desktop is very old and needs to be replaced. I want to install this onto a new desktop.Â
I don't know when I will be gettng a new computer.(budget thing) Is there a way to remove this from my computer for now and wait untill I get a new one? I don't want to loose the license on my old computer due to a catastrophic failure.
To make it easy can I just uninstall this from the old and then to install on the new?Â
Or, do I have to do the online transfer thing?Â
If the program does not exist on any computer then where is the license?
Can I transfer my license back and forth from my laptop (32bit) and my work station (64bit) using the license transfer utility?

I ordered a new computer with C3D 2013 installed. I also had C3D on my old computer and had borrowed a license from our company’s server until the end of July. C3D has since been uninstalled from the old computer without first having the license returned. Now I don’t have a license for my new computer.
Is there some way of releasing the borrowed license from the old computer? If I reload C3D back on the old computer will it recognize the old borrowed license and allow me to release it?
I've downloaded and installed AutoCAD 2014 using one of our subscription licenses in order to review it before putting it on other machines (for the purpose of bug-checking and trying out new features). I also have a Map3D subscription license for which Autodesk offered me a free trial upgrade (for this subscription term) to Infrastructure Design Suite (IDS).
While going through the steps for installing IDS, I noticed that the IDS license includes a copy of AutoCAD. I cancelled it before installation and tried to use the LTU to export my current 2014 license. However, when I try to open the LTU, the Windows working icon spins for a bit then nothing happens. It works for my 2013 license but not 2014.
I've installed the LM Tools license manager on a network server to distribute out floating license of AutoCAD 2010. The network license currently has 5 floating licenses for AutoCAD 2010. When I try and install the AutoCAD 2010 software on a client machine and go under "Install Tools and Utilities" I expect to see a choice for the Network License Activation Utility. Unfortunately all I get is the options to install the License Manager (LM Tools), CAD Manager Tools, and SAMreport-Lite. Nothing indicating an Activation Utility.
I may just be very oblivious but I'm not sure how to activate the program with the license server when I can't install the utility to do so. Am I missing a step somewhere? I have a feeling the answer is very obvious but I unfortunately can't see it. The SN and Product Key are entered correctly and should reflect the type of license(s) they are.
I am trying to export my license so i can work from home but the utility isn't working.
I always get that message:
License Export Confirmation
Product:Â Â AutoCAD 2010
Serial number:Â Â 351-XXXXXXX
Export Request Failed Â
The serial number you entered is not valid. Try again. (1)
Click the "Try Again" link to resubmit the request.
Try again
Error reference:1
The number is the right one and it didn't create any error when installing...
Why does AutoDesk doesn't want me to work from home?
I have installed AutoCAD 2010 onto my laptop (Mac Book - VMware Fusion). All has installed okÂ
I exported my AutoCAD liscense from my work machine - again all fine. But on my laptop i dont have the License Transfer Utitlity to import it. I have performed a search and it finds my 3DMax LTU but not my Autocad one
We have 5 seats of Autocad LT 2013 and I need to change/upgrade their pc. I need to deactivate the licenses so that i can transfer or activate to the new computer but License Export Confirmation is failed. the computer is connected to the internet. I tried many times but still no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed the Network License Manager in a Windows 2008 Server ( I installed theNLM using the CD of AutoCAD 2013). The AutoCAD 2013 works fine in the clientmachines, but the 2011 and 2012 version don´t. In the page of Autodesk, on ManageSerial Numbers, I can see the Serial Number for 2011, 2012 and 2013 Suites. Why theAutoCAD 2011/2012 don´t work in the client machines? Note: in the 2011/2012 versionappears the message " A valid license could not be obtained by the network licensemanager. If you are still unable to access a license, contact your systemadministrator. Error [-96.7.11001] ".
View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently, we have 3 stand alone license's and are wanting to reinstall AutoCAD 2012 for a network for various reasons. I uninstalled and installed the tools/utilities for a network license file however I just have our 3 stand alone licenses. Can I not use them in a file to be distributed by the server?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet and iLogic driven mater assy to generate different iterations.
I would like to change the scale of a base view on a drawing based on a parameter in my assembly. The idea is to get iLogic to change the view using a simple If / Else statement.
This is what I tried:
If Parameter("0 Generic Assembly v2.2.iam.BP") < 1570 Then
ActiveSheet.View("VIEW1").Scale = 1/8
Else
ActiveSheet.View("VIEW1").Scale = 1/10
EndIf
So basically the value of "BP" parameter (excel parameter in my assy) would drive the scale of the views. But its not working. Is it actually a sensible method? Can I use in the drawing environment the excel parameters in my assembly?
This is the error message I get when the rule is run:
"Error in rule: View Scale, in document: 0 Generic Assembly v2.2.idw
Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))"Â
Also using the same thinking I use iLogic to populate the drg number field on the drawing based on an excel parameter. The rule works but does not always updates the drawing no upon the parameter change or update/rebuild commands.
How do I create an Inventor part with a cost that will update according to the part dimensions changing. For example, we design products using aluminum extrusions and our cost is determined by foot length. How can I create the extrusion part to have a per foot cost that will dynamically update when I change the parts length for an assembly? It seems to me to be a fundamental need for many industries.
I will happily take any links to information that will explain this process. I cannot find anything online that clearly explains the process of creating parts with costs and variables.
Trying to get the tolerance on a hole to be what I want. I changed the tolerance on the hole, but my idw did not change. When I went back and looked at the tolerance on the hole, it was back to the original value. No matter what I do, it will not change to what I want it to be in the part. Here is a short video.
The dimension I am changing is .9688 and it keeps jumping back to .9686 when I go back into the hole tolerance.
Tried other values too and they would not take either...

Does Adobe sell serial numbers without media?
i'd like to know wether it was forbidden to use Photoshop without paying that much, for a personal use (or in extension until where is it considered illegal, for example for an association poster, for just the family)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Windows XP with Production premium installed. I also have a laptop with Windows 7 RC, with parts of Production Premium (programs i use the most) installed on it too. I've done this to test production premium on Windows 7 as my secondary computer usage of the license (Single User). However, Windows 7 will eventually be deactivated on my laptop early next year by Microsoft, so my question is, if i tell production premium to deactivate on my laptop, will it affect my primary instalation on my XP PC? I do plan to get 7 for my PC as a full-use OS to fully replace XP when it comes out, but deactivating the product then and reactivation after instalation of 7 should work fine,
