I want to copy a lot of referenced entities. Is there any way to select more than one item at a time using Copy Nested Objects?

The NCOPY command used to allow you to copy a nested object onto the current layer in the active drawing. Now, in 2012, it seems to copy the nested object, but it brings the reference layer with it. Is there a setting that can be changed so I can still do the former?

Need a command which would find all the nested entities which got into the selection area provided by user (not necessary to select entities, just get the ids). GetNestedEntity() does what I need but for a single entity only.
Selection of 'Trim' command does exactly what I need. How could I achieve the same behaviour?
I recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013. I am regularly crashing when I pick objects, usualy in the erase command, then type "r" to remove some of the objects. After I've picked the objects to remove and hit enter I get a fatal error. This is happening in several different drawings so I don't think it's drawing specific. Today it happened with the stretch command. I'm not sure if it's happening everytime I remove objects but if not it's quite often. A co-worker said he has noticed the same thing.

Not all drawings present this difficulty, but the ones that do must be passed to another person to set the annotation scale. I am using Civil 3D, 2010. In these drawings, I can try to use the scale popup at the buttom of the editor window either in paper space or model. A Fatal Error is returned. To change the paper space viewport scale, I have to use the zoom XP command to keep from crashing but the annotation scale is another thing. I have not found a work around. I have tried to set the CANNOSCALE variable and I have tried to set it through a lisp script. The drawing does not Error out by setting this variable, but does not actually change the properties of the viewport either. My default setting for ANNOAUTOSCALE is -4 for what it is worth.

The default settings force you to choose a surface, and then to place it by selecting 1-point /or/ 2 points. The CAD default is the 1-point. Is there a way to change this default to the 2-point so I dont have to change it everytime?

When I change the parameter of the OD on the elevation, I want the plan view to change. I'd like to keep them as blocks (they're a little more complicated than just cylinders), but when I try to use parametrics to tie these two dimensions together I get: "Constraints cannot be applied between nested objects in the same block or Xref."

In my case, I have a window type, that is arrayed so that it can adapt to suit openings that can vary considerably in size.
I would like the lintel selection to be determined automatically by the size of the opening - selecting a specific lintel type from within a common type based on the overall span. The lintel in question will vary in it's specification, it is not merely a size.
ie. Windows
<1200mm - use Lintel Type A1 (100mm deep)
1200mm - 1800 use lintel Type A2 (215mm deep)
1800 - 2400mm use lintel Type A3
2400 - 3600mm use lintel Type A4
>3600mm use lintel Type B1 (different construction type altogether)
these should then be identified in the window schedule - identifying lintel type and length (length = window opening +150mm bearing at each end).
It may be quite a bit of work in getting this systme working, but we have a scheme with 250+ windows, and a further 3-4 buildings that will be using the exact same types - running to 1000+ windows in total. So to get this working would be a great time-saver.
I've created a family for an exterior canopy system that has many variations (see attachment). It works for all options except the final request from the intended users. When the canopy is very short, the interior outriggers do not need cable tiebacks to the exterior wall.
Currently, the outrigger family, which is nested and arrayed in the host family, is composed of multiple objects, four of which comprise the cable support that needs to be able to be turned off, and one that is the outrigger that is always visible. I've tried several ways of getting the cable assembly to turn off while leaving the outrigger visible, but all without success. I've tried editing the array and mapping the cable assembly components' visibility parameter to a Cable Option Yes/No parameter. I've tried making the cable assembly its own family and nesting that first in the outrigger family and then mapping its arrayed instance to a Cable Option parameter. I've tried various combinations of Instance versus type parameters in both the Outrigger and host Canopy families, all to no avail.
Given the way the family is now designed, can this be done or must the cable assembly be its own family and arrayed separately? Note that there are parameters to control the cable assembly size.
But when using a nested smart object (meaning a smart object within a smart object) Photoshop CS5 doesn't display the correct file size (at bottom left) or seem to account for the nested smart object file size. Is there a "setting" I’m missing to accurately display what the true file size is?
The Problem: Using multiple nested smart objects that I have reduced the size of my image to be 260x200 for web export. Photoshop CS5 won't let me save a file that appears to be only 3mbs claiming it's over 2 gig's. See image below.
Really not sure what to do about this, the company I work for makes lots of changes so using smart objects is necessary for my work flow. But also seems to be slowing me down trying to figure out issues like this and is problematic when it comes to saving all the work I have been doing.
I recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2011 from C3D2010. I have used the same ACAD.PGP file for years that includes the shortcut C for the COPY command. Up until C3D2011 this would always allow me to copy an entity multiple times, (the default when COPYMODE is set to 0).
I am running C3D2011 64bit on WIN 7 64bit OS. It happens with other commands too that use a dialog box normally, i.e. INSERT - it only brings up the command line version of it.
I need to copy a selection set from p1 to p2.to do this I wrote the following

works, but this way I can not see objects dynamically attached to the mouse cursor.
To visualize this effect, I noticed that I can use:

but in this way I can not save the variables p1 and p2: I need for these, subsequently in the rest of thefunctions lisp.
I have been using autocad for a while and have always been able to use "R" to remove objects from a selection set. All of a sudden now when I want to use that command it activates the "Redraw" command instead of letting me remove objects from my set.
How to get it back to the way I had it before?
After a few hours of everything working perfectly, AutoCAD will suddenly decide to select objects slowly (for move, copy, trim, erase etc. commands). There will be a short time lag between picking a point on the screen and creating the selection box.
The problem is only rectified by switching off the pc and rebooting.
I was wable to write some code that makes some already drawn objects on autocad into a selection set. What I need to do next is copy the selected objects and move them over like a distance of 50 to the right.

I have a problem with acad files. Almost every time i try copying objects from one acad file to another the program becomes unresponsive. It can be just a line. I am using acad 2007LT. The files usually are edited in acad 2007 LT and newer versions like 2010 and 2011
When i try to copy files the command line displays:
"_pasteclip duplicate definition of block _archtick ignored".
After this message is displayed nothing happens. Left the pc to process more than 15 minutes and still noting. Recently i tried inserting such a file as xref, but no luck. The progress bar gets to 99% and it stops.
File size makes no difference because it happens with small files as well as large. I have to say that this problem doesn't accure to all the files, but the majority have this problem.
My colleagues using 2007 lt have the same problem.
When I need to copy something between files I make it a block and use design center to move the block between files.

After this, I can type the CAD command "erase", and the selected entity is erased. However, if I press the DELETE key the entity is not erased (nothing happens). Why is that?
If I select something on screen with my cursor, the DELETE will erase it.
I have an array of all the same block with a few attributes. All attributes need just slightly different data (like incrementing numbers). It is extremely tedious to select the block, enter the data, cancel the selection and then select the next block. Is there an easy way to select all the blocks up front and then modify them one at a time by "cycling through the selection"? I'm specifically looking for a key-command that will de-select the current block and select the next one so I can stay in my properties window.
It's also worth mentioning that I'm on LT and there aren't enough blocks to make ATTOUT/IN worth it (or possible).
I am having trouble with my selection box. Ordinarily, when I am trying to select multiple object, I can just create multiple selection boxes and it keeps adding more and more objects to my selection. However, it recently started acting funny--it stopped selecting things after the first box was drawn. No matter how many boxes I drag, it won't add any more objects to my selection.

I'm having a slight issue where if a polyline has the same start and end coordinates (this happens in some of our drawings), then the command stops and I get an eDegenerateGeometry error. I want to modify my command so that it detects these objects, removes them from the selection set, and then notifies the users of their prescence so they can be removed manually. The last part i think I can handle, however I'm not sure how to modify either my filter or my routine to detect and ignore these objects. I'm assuming that since i'll want to record these objects to later notify the user, that i'd probably want to modify my routine.

My question is, if there any tool /command, utility in autocad to select all objects of one type at one time : for example all text objects or all dimention objects if these objects on different layers and have different properties. in my work I have to insert many blocks(not annotative) or parts of drawings which were created by other people and have different from mine settings and properties of text and dimention objects. the insertions add so many layers and objects that I spend lots of time to correct them and to figure it out.
is there any way( command, utility) to select and manage all of these objects at one time?
P.S.i think it is very unconvenient that the plain autocad does not have dimentions and text as families or some sort of groups that s easy to manage.
Im trying to teach myself to draw pipe spools but am kinda overwhelmed by the options (MET and lisp addons etc.)
Im using auto cad 2013 and inventor 2013. Can pipe spools be easily drawn in 2d and 3d in these programs or do i need a 3rd party add on?
