Is there a way to compare a wall style in a drawing with the wall style in my library...
I ask you that in case where a property change in my library and a wall is already insert in a drawing...
I'm attempting to create a wall style that has 2 components, a framed wall and a brick veneer. What I would like to do is have this wall react a certain way when I insert a window. Basically, I don't want the window to cut into the brick veneer, only the framing.
I have attached my attempt so far, and I have not figured out how to get the window to only cut the framed portion.
I have two created wall styles, one is a stud wall with gyp bd each side, the other is a cmu wall with gyp bd each side. I want to use a solid hatch which I am able to do but the problem is one wall style the stud hatch is HATCH 1 and in the other wall style the CMU hatch is HATCH 2. It seems as though the two wall styles are tied together some how for if I turn on / off a hatch in one of the wall styles it turns on / off the hatch in the other wall style.

What is the proper procedure to set up a new wall style or can I just tweak the 16" length to show as a 10" length block in this file?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use ACA 2012 for residential design - I have a wall style, 2x4 stud w/ 1.5" airspace and 3.5" brick (modified from the stock styles) - but whenever I insert a window, it makes it as wide as the wall (9") when it should be only the depth of the stud wall (2x4 or 2x6) - How can I fix this?

Has the feature been added that allows me to add the sweep to the tool so I dont have to manually import and add the sweep in every drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAutocad 2013 (64 bit win 7) when selecting a migrated wall style (wall style used in previous version of acad) it shows in properties that it is BASELINE, tho clearly on screen the grips show a left or right justification... THEN when switching the style of the all to something else, it will make the wall BASELINE justification.. which makes the wall move.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm drawing individual guest rooms for a hotel that I would like to xref into the main floor plans. The walls between the rooms are 8" wide. I would like to only show half the width of those walls (4") so when xrefed againt another guest room in the main floor plan, the total width would be 8". But I would like for the one side of the 4" wall to appear as a centerline on the individual plans, but at the same time, be able to shut the centerlines off on the main floor plans. I'm new to ACA 2012 and perhaps I'm going about this in the wrong way.........?????

We have set our iam/ipt templates to have some custom properties which we wish to display in the view label when the view is created however there this no way to add these properties to the label.
I find this a little strange as you can add these user Properties to the parts list in the style library? (I've added some screen caps to show what I am talking about)
I have the below code where by I can gain access to property sets.
But it doesn't look like the Schedule Styles are there.
How can I change this up to get access to Schedule Styles defined in the drawing?

When converting a wall to a curtain wall I select wall in the design pallette right click apply to wall select the wall and it changes to a curtain wall. When I try converting a curtain wall to a wall I right click on curtain wall select apply properties to wall then go to select the curtain wall but I cannot select the curtain wall as a wall?

I noticed that the Library module was noticeably different from what I saw in the Develop module. It looked like none of the noise reduction I applied had made it to the Library preview. I tried rebuilding the standard previews and it did not work. I zoomed in 1:1 preview and when I zoomed out the preview was correct. I have to click on 1500 photos to view them correctly?

For example, using a wallstyle as a countertop, I'd be able to drag it to the corner of a room and use object snap to the intersection. In ACA 2012, the object snap defaults to the justification plane of the wall even if that's not where the intersection snap is desired.

We have just installed 2014 software on our machines and I'm told that I need to migrate the styles library from 2013 to 2014. Here's the thing though, we have our Inventor templates and design data on a network drive for all to access.
I see where there is a style manager included in the Tools of Inventor but I open it up and I can't make heads or tails of it.

I want to use a font that a collegue used on his drawing (he used Microstation but all our drawings are first done in LisCad), I have it in the AutoCAD font library, but for some reason it doesn't show under properties in the STYLE drop box in my drawing... Is that because my drawing comes from Liscad?
I guess I can copy a word from another AutoCAD drawing to get it in, but if I can get in into my drop list it would be handy!
I would like to change the look of the point that I draw ni autocad.
When i draw a point (1 on the joined picture), I can choose different style (point, circle, square, ...) and increase or reduce the size (2 on the joined picture)

but the model stay allways thin, i would like to modify my point to look like the 3 ont the joined picture.
I know that 20 models are allready a lot of choice, but is there a possibility to modify the library of the point?
I made some changes to layers and line scales in our idw template and then saved them to the style library to keep things synchronized. When I started a new drawing I got a style conflict message as if I had not saved the changes to the style library (see attached). My project file is set to Use Style Library =Yes, and what's more strange is that only six of the layers didn't update in the style library while the rest did? These six layers indeed show they need to be updated in the style library when I went back into the template, but when I update them the same thing happens.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor those who are familiar with the Ultra-Pipe Program, when I open a drawing from Ultra-Pipethe title layer is updated by the kbupdate.lsp file and the drawing decription (title Layer) is updated with the Circuit ID and TML range. Referencing the attached pdf, you can see that this would be misleading in some cases. I need the description in the title block to be updated with the drawing name instead.
We have changed the default layer colors before in the kbupdate.lsp so I know it's not impossible. I am 99% sure that the changes needed for the problem above would be in the same file.
I quite often like to use the wall grips to adjust the length of a wall. This works really well accept for the occasional situation were I want to snap to the face of another wall rather than the justification line. I know that I can snap to the face of a wall rather than the justification line because I have some files that it works fine in and other files that it does not work in.

had to explode the couple of walls I was editing, saved as 2011 or 2010 file.
When I open the file in ACA2011 I can not execute the wall tool. This is the message received:
Command: _AecWallAdd Command not allowed because drawing contains objects from a newer version of this application.
The new objects would be lines.
My boss wants me to make the most outside line of a walltype to be the heaviest pen. If I go to the properties of the wall and changethe boundary it changes the boundary of the item in the wall, each boundary independentfrom the other. Such as a wall made of the following: BRICK, AIR SPACE, SHEATHING,STUD AND GYPSUM BOARD. In this wall theexterior face of the brick and gypsum board need to be heavy.
