Revit :: Part Of Building Section Symbol Can Be Turned At An Angle?
Jun 6, 2013Regarding a building footprint that is long from south to north and then about 2/3s (two thirds) of the length the footprints turns 45 degrees to the left (making this angle the 135 degree angle of AutoCAD), then I want to create a long Building Section parallel to the building footprint with the bottom 2/3 of the section from south to north and then the last 1/3 of that building section turned 45 degrees to agree with the 1/3 angle of that part of the building.

I just want to create a section from the point cloud, but the point cloud won't allow me to select it as an object in the 'Generate 2D/3D section' dialogue as it's not a solid/surface.
On an unrelated note, I find snapping to the point cloud impossible - is there an option in OSNAP that I'm missing? I've tried this with attached PCGs and RCP point clouds, no difference.

AutoCad :: Dynamic Block Of Stage Section
Apr 30, 2012I have created a dynamic block of our companies Stage section. The block is set up as a rectangular array using XY parameters. The block itself works fine however I created block attributes in the block dwg to display its measurements using the Distance x and Distance y totals.
When inserting the block into a new drawing I need to explode the block in order for the array to work, however this also means that the text is no longer locked to the block. is there a way around this?
AutoCad :: Section Call Out (dynamic Block)
Sep 19, 2013I have this section call out which I modify from default autocad library but the problem I have is that when I scale it to factor of 48 (1/4"=1" drawing) my text is supposed to be 4.5 in and is 4.62. Likewise for scale factor of 96 is 9.24 in as supposed to 9.0 in. HOW GET THE RIGHT TEXT SIZE?

Mar 25, 2013I have an associative hatch in a dynamic section bubble that updates as the arrow rotates around an ellipse.
Everything works fine until the block is scaled. The block is not annotative, and needs to be scaled to the drawing scale. Is this an autocad issue or am i doing something wrong?
AutoCAD 2013 :: New Install Of Building Design Suite Standard 2014 - Tool Palettes Don't Work
Jun 24, 2013We have just recently install Building Design Suite Standard 2014 and the tool palettes DO NOT work.
Clicking on the standard palettes that load with ACAD will not even work. We have also tried to make new ones and the will not MAKE (for lack of words).
Here is the Autocad warning it gives us:
Unable to execute the tool. Possible causes are:
-The tool is not registered properly. Please check your installation.
-the tool is from another application and is incompatible with the current application.
We are running a new copy and it IS registered.
AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: (Section) Cut Marker With ATTDEF - Can't Move Ends Independently
May 25, 2012I've got a section marker (the letter designation with arrowheads pointing in the direction of the cut) that I cannot get to behave correctly.
When I set a parameter to one end with a move action, in order to have the arrowhead and attdef for the letter designation move upwards, all is well. When I try to do the same to the other end, the letter desingation attdef will not move.
Neither attdef is set to "Lock Position", so I'm puzzled why one works and the other end does not. I've tried a move action on both ends and a combination of move/stretch, but I can't get it to work.

Revit :: Building Design Suite Plugins 2013?
Feb 16, 2013I'm trying to export Revit into Navisworks Simulate but there's no Navisworks tool in External tools. I did a full install of the Design Suite and checked Control Panel/ Programs/ Programs and Features for " autodesk navisworks simulate 2013 exporter plugins" but they're not installed. Are the plugins included in the Suite or do I download them from Autodesk?

It kept giving me a message "There are no solids or surfaces that can be projected."
What is the reason of it? It's a 3d dwg file exported from Revit.
Also, can you generate a 2d section thru the xref.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Section Drawing - Layers Invisible
May 9, 2013I have been working on a detailed section drawing in AutoCad 2013
I saved the file in different files as i gone along, I have been trying to open the file everytime i do all the layers are there but only two are visible all the other seem to be invissible.
I tried it with each file on different computers, same version of AutoCad no success.
It apears that in the preview before opening the file it is all there but when actually opening the file its only a random two layers that come up, missing around 10 others which have the majority of the drawing /details on there.
I tried the unhide, changing line weights in the layer menu, opening the back ups. is there anything else I can try.

Sep 26, 2013i have a series of points from a cross section taken using an adcp and i am trying to draw the cross section in autoCAD lt 2014. is there a way i can enter the points as a sort of script so i dont have to manually typoe in the distance and height between each point as i have about 200 points in each cross section.

Jan 30, 2013If you can create a solid by lofting between two section, in this case they are 3d polylines, along a given path. The path is at the top of the sections. Using the loft command I have to key in the PO ( point ) option several times to get the path option to show then when I select the path it gets treated as another section. See attached.

Aug 2, 2013I'm been unable to find what controls the display of the boundary of a section (volume type) object. A section object that does not show it's boundary, when copied to another file shows the boundary.
Same layer states, visual styles, and other setting between both files. There must be some setting I'm overlooking... but a search of the so-called help file was not very informative.

Sep 5, 2013I'm trying to figure out where to control the section label sets that are attached to the section "entities" when I create multiple section views. It seems to default to 'standard' for all entities sampled. I have created the section label sets that I would like to use for each entity, eg. subgrade, finished grade etc., but don't know where to select it when sections are created. I can get desired results by selecting each entity in a section view individually, but it's very tedious since I will have over a hundred sections views to show with 3 entities sampled each. These sections were created from sample lines across multiple surfaces and not from a corridor. It seems logical that the section label set would be tied to the section style, but I don't think it is. The only thing the section style seems to control is the layer and a name, it's nearly useless.

Jan 24, 2013I have opened an exported .dwg file from Vectorworks. I have been able to hide most items I wish to. My difficulty is that I have (what I think from reading and Youtube) is dynamic blocks (light instruments). They are on a layer that is turned off, yet they are still visible. I've played around in the block editor, but I really don't know what I'm doing. If need be I can delete the light instruments, but I'd rather not. If there is a command to hide all blocks? I tried to use the properties editor to change the color to white so they would disappear. That didn't work.
