I'm trying to add rows above rows in the middle of a table. The options under Rows are all grey/not available. The last row will allow me to add a row below and the top row will allow me to add a row above. I'm unable to Delete rows, too. The table is not listed as locked or anything. Aside from retyping the table, is there something I need to do to be able to edit the table?
I like the concept of datalinks, it's ingenious working with excel and do what excel does best instead of doing it in acad. I am done with the excel part and want to edit my table in autocad.
My problem is that I have some unused rows and columns that I can't get rid of, erase is greyed out.
I recently jumped from C-12 to X5, and now I simply can not work properly.
After creating an image and converting it to a bitmap, if it is converted to RGB I get the "failed to launch server application" error, while in CMYK everything works fine.
In our company, we put Excel tables in our drawings. The reason we've chosen for Excel-tables is that we can adjust the layout of the table quite easily. These tables consist of grouped cells in a particular company-specific layout. We select the range of the desired cells, copy and paste them in our AutoCAD drawing. This drawing is sent to our customers. The disadvantage of this method is, that when our customers (who use CAD-software of other brands) open the dwg, they don't see the table, but some kind of picture of the table.
Is there a way to 'explode' the excel-table, but keep the specific layout of the table? For attributes in blocks there's the 'Explode Attributes'-command in the Express-tools, but is there something similar for Excel-tables?

I'm simply trying to delete the revision table if it exists on a drawing. I did find where you can't do anything with Rev Tags with the API, but what about the Actual Revision Table?
Trying to get this to work;
If iProperties.Value("Project", "Revision Number")>0Dim oRevTable as RevisionTableoRevTable = ActiveSheet.Sheet.RevisionTable.Item(1) oRevTable = nullRevisionTable
In ipart there is an option to add and delete rows when working with inventor graphically.I have displayed the iPart table and the values in gridview using VB.Net.
The user then selects the row in datagridview and clicks the button delete. When the button onclick even is triggered i want to delete the selected row on ipart table inside inventor.
Is there a way to delete a Table style? I opened the Table Style dialogue box, selected a style and right clicked. There is a choice to delete but it is not selectable, it is dimmed.
I created a link to an Excel file to create a table. Before I ETransmit the AutoCAD file (along with many other files) I want to remove the link so that the table is embedded with no need for the external file. When I have somebody who doesn't have the linked file on their machine open the file they get a "missing external file" message" despite the fact that I ran the detach data link command and have purge selected in the ETransmit setup. The table shows up with the data, but I want to eliminate the nag pop up about the missing file. I know you can click the ignore button, but I don't want our customer to have to bother with it.
Any way to save a list of files for ETransmit like you do in a .dsd file for batch plotting?
I have a pipe network, and I would like to edit the elevations of multiple pipes, similar to how I would edit the elevations of a feature line or an alignment, in a table. I can't figure out how to edit these besides just selecting pipe properties on each individual pipe.
I working with one schedule dwg by using table command. I could not able to edit text in a cell while i double click, inside the table cell. But i can edit by using right click method. before it (double click) was working. now i dont know what happend.
Is there a way to bring up the original dialogue box to edit an existing table? (TABLE brings the "Insert Table" dialogue box that lets you set number of rows and columns, it's this menu that I would like to bring up to revise existing table settings).
It seems hard to edit a table once it exists.
The reason I'm looking to do this is because I have an excel table linked (which I scaled to be larger) but every time I update the table to include new information it brings the new text in at the original text size (very small). I figure I could solve this by going back to the original table settings and setting an area on the sheet to update rather than selecting "Entire sheet"...
I have text in a drawing that wont edit or delete. I have heard there was a text bug and to fix it set DTEXTED to 1. I have done that, closed out and came back in and the text is still there and will not delete or edit.
When I double-click on a text item, AutoCAD used to go to text edit mode, without entering the TEDIT command. This quit working - now I have to enter TEDIT.
Also, when I select items and hit the Delete key, nothing happens. The selected items used to get deleted.
I tried going to the Windows Start menu and resetting all of the settings to the defaults - this didn't work.
I also tried re-installing AutoCAD from my original disk, and that didn't work either.
How to edit the member name in an iassembly table using code? The Part Number and Description iproperties are easy to handle. But I am stuck on how to access the member name and edit it. I guessed at some methods, but keep getting errors.
I am using 2013LT. It crushed yesterday. Today when I opened my drgs. I can not edit text, delete anything. I also have noticed that menu under right click does not have the same options as before ie. block edit is not there and so on. I have opened differend dwg ones that I wasn't working on when it crushed and the same thing happed.
I opened my drawings with 2012LT and everything works fine.
I want to edit some values in the data table of a shape file (*.shp) with AutoCAD Map 3d 2013. Every time I alter a value in data table it takes about 30 seconds until AutoCAD Map saves (?) the value. I have to wait 30 second until I can continue working. Why is this so slow?
The shape file has 7000 lines and is stored on a local drive.
how to edit or delete existing material in the library? In a part, I can rename, delete and create new materials using the Material broser. But how to transfer this modifications to library?
The only way i see is to "save styles to style library", but with this feature only the NEW created materials get saved in the library. But how to delete or modifiy materials that are already in the library?
I've been up and down the forums looking for some direction or programming code for this to no avail.
What I'd like to do is edit a table where the cells are populated with fields. I'd like to copy the last row of the table to a new row (fields and all), then change the fields of the row I copied FROM to text, and lock those cells.
I'd like to copy this row including the fields to a new row beneath it. Then edit the cells of the first row to change the fields to text, and then finally lock the cells of the first row so that only the new row would update when the field properties change. Eventually they will be populated with data from the Vault..
I have to go up to cut and select the object to delete. Also when I click on text the edit dialogue box doesn't come up. I have to go to properties to edit.
I'm an architect and I'm drawing up a development of 80 houses and I need to provide a Sales Plan which includes the width and length of each rear garden in the development. Rather than show these as actual dimensions on the drawing (which will get messy and make the drawing look untidy due to the large amount of units) I plan to create a simple table with plot number and dimensions.
My plan is to dimension the gardens on a non-printable layer and to insert a field into a table to obtain the required dimension. I've done this for the first few houses but I have to insert one field and then select the dimension to get the "m" dimension and then repeat the process in order to get the "ft" dimension.
My question is is it possible to insert a field (or two separate fields) that will display the dimension once in m (ie 12.80m) and once in 'architectural dimension style' (ie. 41' - 7 1/4") by only clicking on the dimension once??
This will save a lot of time as this size of development is quite common for me.
I am seeking to simplify some of our drawings and want to make some forms or tables that has a click check or radio button. Is this possible in any way using Autocad and/or using the Visual Basic and Visual LISP add ons?
If it is possible what I seek is something similar to what is shown in the attached picture. Ideally I would be able to group the boxes together and set up something so it will only allow one of them to be checked, same thing for Mixed Occupancy, Construction Types, etc. If that is not possible via any means at a minimum I would like to be able to just click on the box to check or uncheck it.
If there is some way to make it as a block with attributes I can handle that as well.
I have a Civil 3D AECC table that I want to use in Excel but these entities can't be copied and pasted. I have exploded it a few time to get simple lines and text and want to convert these into an AutoCAD table for export to Excel.
I have searched forums and have found a few lisp routines (e.g. maketable.lsp at [URL]) but they don't work.
