i updated my work computer to the new Maverick OS update. Everytime i open an After Effects project up over the server it crashes. I never had this problem before and until after i installed Mavericks.
I have two Macs, a late 2012 MacBook Pro and a 2009 iMac, both installed with Creative Cloud and running Mavericks. The MBP is doing great. No issues whatsoever, and it is my main machine these days.
However, Photoshop CC is crashing on launch on the iMac every time. I can't use it at all there. Here is the top of the crash log, leaving off everything from "Binary Images:" on...

I subscribe to Digital Photo magazine, from England. They supply a CD with every issue. I attempted to read in a .jpg file directly in the PSE 12 editor. PSE consistently crashes as soon as I start the process. I tried the same process on PSE 10 and 11 with the same result. I then took the CD on my Windows 7 system, which also has the save versions of PSE. On Windows 7 the process works without a hitch.
Workaround. If I import the file from the CD while in PSE 12 organizer, highlight the file and then invoke the editor, it works fine. I do NOT want to use a workaround. This should work AND in no event should the system crash.
NOTE: I have submitted the crash reports to both Apple and Adobe without getting any response.
Slowly but surely my OSX environment is being extricated from the absolute lunacy that every file used by any application had to reside on the machine's root drive. Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, created a $USER/Documents/Adobe subdirectory where it stored my profile information. I attempted to move that profile information to a network drive and to use an alias to point $USER/Documents/Adobe at $NETWORK_DRIVE/Adobe. Now Adobe Premiere Pro CC crashes on startup. I have attempted to trash my preference (deleting the 7.0 subfolder of the Adobe/Premiere Pro folder).
I'm coming into my second week of desperate attempts to make my After Effects CS6 (Volume License) work in the cursed Mac OS 10.9. I'm back to using CS5.5 which works, but my clients are getting irritated by having to down-save all documents to CS5.5 for me.
– I've installed CS6 OK.
– I'm trying to patch it to 11.0.4, message keeps saying "Adobe Application Manager is damaged or missing, please reinstall"
– I've tried loads of ways to remedy this; CC cleaner, surgical removal and reinstallation of all Adobe files in various order, silent installs, all kinds of permissions repairs and adjustments, reinstalling AAM, installing AAM for volume licensing, studying the PDApp.log, install and crash logs,
I've considered wiping my entire system and trying to downgrade to Mac OS 10.8 in order to get my CS6 back up and running
I am trying to install After Effects 12.2 for the first time on my MBP. I am running Mavericks. AE installs from the CC app just fine. But when I open AE I get the message:
"The application “Adobe After Effects CC” can’t be opened. -10810"
I've uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled many times. With the same result. I'm pretty sure my system is capable, albeit on the low end of performance. I'm only planning to use AE for some timelapse tutorials.
My system is: MacBook Pro 13-inch, Mid 2009 Processor 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42) Hard Drive 30 GB free
I just installed the 12.1 update of After Effects, and now I can't open the program. When I try to start up AE, I get the error message:
After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.1/Workspaces. 773.1407350999826081.xml' to 'workspaces.xml'.
I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling AE. Same problem.

I was working on a project just fine until when I went to open it this morning. When I open it, AE crashes with either this message:
OR this message:
and finally ends with a message like this:
There are no special plugins being utilized in the project I am working in, only several Illustrator files. I'm not sure how dynamic link has anything to do with this because i'm not using it with Premiere Pro. All I know is that the project worked fine when I closed it last night, and now this is happening. It's a paid job as well, so it's very important that I can open it again.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling CS6 and my video card drivers. Just to be clear, AE opens just fine, it's only opening this specific project that gives the crash. Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate (updated) Core i7 3770k GeForce GTX 570 1.2 gb 16 gb ram 256gb SSD 1TB media drive
I'm experiencing some problems with the rendering of some videos on AE CS4. I haven't had this problem before.
When i first installed After Effects a few months ago, i tried to render videos and AE rendered them beautifully, without a single issue. After a while(some months) it started crashing in certain points of the videos, and after a while it couldn't render more than 300 frames(after 300 or less frames it crashed).
I tried all the solutions available in this site and other sites, but none of them worked. I suspected that my computer had became slower over time and assumed that that was the problem, so I decided to reformat(myself) it as soon as possible.
I thought i fixed the problem by formatting my PC. When i tried to render the same video , it couldn't go beyond 200 frames .how is it possible that before, AE could render the same video without crashing even once , and now (even after formatting) it can't go beyond 200 frames.
Detail: when AE renders the video, it begins very fast and just crashes at a random frame ( not at the same frame every time)

I've recently updated CC from 12.1 to 12.2 and I cannot launch it anymore. After Effects launches its UI and after 2-3 seconds it crashes without any error message or crash log. My specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Intel Core i5 3450 3.1GHz Geforce GTX 560 Gigabyte P67A-D3-B3 motherboard 16GB ram
I've already reinstalled After Effects about 4 times, deleted media cache, deleted preferences, updated graphics drivers, rebooted my PC dozens of times but I still can't run it.
Just downloaded the demo of CS6, but am having a nightmare trying to open my CS5.5 project. I get the following error message After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking effect plug-in "Shadow/Highlight".
I tried opening a different project, and a similar error occurs, but with a different plugin. This time it's the Paint plugin. After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking effect plug-in "Paint".
I'm a fairly experienced user and have bought a template from one of the Royalty Free sites. However, as in the title, AE (CS5 and a CC trial) both crash when I go near some of the compositions. I say 'some' becasue it only seems to be a few that are problematic.I've downloaded the zip again and tried all sorts like renaming the project, emptying the cache, using the Collect Files option to try a new project and downloaded a CC trial but all the same.
I'm new to AECS6 and wanted to embed a video into a video. I rendered an AVI(MPEG4) in Key-shot 4 that is only 6 seconds long. When I import (or drag and drop) that file into AE it freezes and then crashes. I am not sure what's going on. I tried importing other AVIs, and they seem to be working just fine!..
Then i tried importing the FLV of the same AVI video I rendered with keyshot, it says my file is damaged or corrupted. but i can playback the FLV file no problem.I am on windows 7 64bit right now, 8GB of ram, Intel i7 at 3.4GHz, NVDIA GeForace GT 640.
I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion form SL. Suddenly AE can't import lot of .movs.I am almost sure this is a compatibility between the Quicktime components nor the location of them.
For instance, some H264 files are imported fine, as Mp4 files as well. Pro Res, PNG, even Animation! Gives me the "this Moov is unsuported or damaged"I removed the AE pref., chequed my disk permissions, and nothing. Also, i can't see Adobe QT32 Server in the Activity Monitor, but i think this is not a problem because other quicktime files are imported ok.I don't have any firewall trying to break the communication between AE and QT. I tried to opend the files in Premiere, and Media Encode and gives the same errors..I have removed Xvid, Perian. From Quicktime Pro, i have removed all third party component in Libray/Quicktime and in System/Library/quicktime and nothing. Also I'm lost WHERE the final qt components go:
1-HD/Library/Quicktime 2-HD/Users/User/Library/Quicktime 3-HD/System/Library/Quicktime (empty, i don't know why)
The QT codecs: Quicktime pro opens certain files and when i tried to export, it crashes. Quicktime X Plays the files normally, even Prores and even the Finder Preview sees them.this is the QT report:

Downloaded the trial - Installed fine, loads fine, everything seems to work fine except the effects menu.
As soon as I try to open the effects menu it crashes... this happens in both Win7 x64 AND Win8 x64 (tried for fun) Corel X5 works fine in both, BUT its the 32 bit version... wonder if i should try that
I have an English version of Photoshop CS3. Since I upgraded to Mavericks it will not work. It opens, a blank window for the Adobe updater opens and that's it. I can only close them by force closing. Everything is inactive. I can't even access the deactivate or activate menu. I have updated the Jave, repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled, all to no avail.
It's about two days I am experiencing lag problems with Zoom Tool on Photoshop CC. The strange thing is that the problem appears only two days ago, when instead I've installed OSX Mavericks on my machine about two weeks (the day of the Public Release)
You can notice that from the moment I finished drawing the "zoom square" and the real zoom lapse about 1,5s (same thing for the Scrubby Zoom).
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop, disable plugins and reset tool preferences but unfortunately with no success.
Here are my specs: Macbook Air Mid 2012 with i5, 8GB Ram, 128GB SSD Photoshop CC 14.0
I don't own Creative Cloud but use OS X 10.6.8 on the i Mac (2011 model) working with previous versions of Adobe CS products ( Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) for my creative work.
Will these software applications work with the latest OS X Mavericks without any hiccups, even if my system doesn't have any Retina display resolution? I've been considering upgrading to Mavericks but wanted to make sure.
I am having problems with PS CC crashing on Mavericks. I unistalled and re-installed it but it keeps crashing after opening. Here is the craash report:

I use a MacBook Pro running OSX v10.9 with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS6.
After installing Mavericks last night, I spent a couple hours figuring out that I had to install a Java update and delete my Astute plug-ins for illustrator. Photoshop worked fine (no plug-ins are used). After deleting the old plug-ins, installing the available updates from a Astute's website and restarting the computer, Illustrator was back up and running.
I quit both programs for an hour or so, came back and tried reopening each. Photoshop will no longer open. An error message says "could not initialize program" and shuts it down. Illustrator appears to start but will not open existing or new files.
When restarted in safe mode, each program works properly. What can I do to make them work in normal mode? Is there a way to find out what non-default extensions or plug-ins are preventing my programs from working properly?
After updating to Mavricks I revieve an error opon using Photoshop CC. It will allow me to open photoshop and just keep it open, however when I create a new file and start to work it will crash.
