View 1 RepliesIn CorelDraw files, the color palette varies from one artist to another based presumably on the version of Corel. If one artist opens another artists files, some of the color (mostly black) appear as clear/white/invisible. Colors appear normally, however, for the artist to whom the file belongs. This may be also related to an issue with "black boxes". An artist opens an old color separation file or a color separation file created by another artist, and the color separation dialog tab in the print dialog shows multiple check boxes for "undefined" colors. These print out as blank color separations regardless of whether the box is unchecked. If all of the art is selected on the page, cut and pasted to a new page and the old page deleted, the undefined black boxes cease to exist.

I originally created certain drawings in 2012, but then I installed 2013 and opened them in there.
Now when I try to open them in 2012, it tells me thats its been created in a previous version and it can not be open.
PSCS6 with 12.0.4 update. Mac OSX 10.8.2 16GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 543 GB Available
I've recently become aware that other people are getting an error message when opening many of my my psd files if they are on earlier versions of PS and also on PSE, (including the latest version). The message is:
This document contains unknown data which will be discarded to keep layers editable. To preserve the original appearance instead, choose flatten to load composite data as a flattened image.
Three options follow: Flatten Cancel Keep Layers
When 'keep layers' is selected the file opens as normal. However, people with much earlier version (CS version 8) don't get the option to keep layers, and the layers are flattened when the document is opened.
I still have CS5 on my mac, and I find that if I take my finished file into CS5 and save it there, the customer does not get the message above, and the file behaves as it should. Those on very early version of PS can also open the files without any issues.
I've been using CS6 since it was released and have had to delve through all my files and save them in CS5. Not every file is affected and I've been unable to find a common thread.
In Photoshop CS6, I can't set my workspace to the way it was in previous versions. I especially need the horizontal toolbar that goes under the top menus. I would use it for paths or gradient options for example.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to add Xmas clip art from XDP7 to XDPx. In the design gallery of XDP7 there is a category called "Xmas (download). I looked in the clip art folders of XDP7 and cannot see a folder for the Xmas art. I see no indication of any kind of Xmas clip art. I read posts about adding old clip art on the forum but I really don't understand exactly what to do.

In previous versions of Photoshop space for scroll bars is present but there are no scroll bar, select all marching ants are visible on all four sides when an image's window fits in Photoshop window or on second display. Is there a way to make CS6 work like previous versions? Also if I just open a document and Photoshop fits it to Photoshop window or second display the floating window is correct without scroll bars.
The Tone Mapping tool in X4 has changed from previous versions. In X4 there are two sliders (Strength & Block Size)
The Help File is no different than what was found in X3 and doesn't mention Block Size. What this slider does?
I cannot save my previous files created on a student version to an upgraded 2014 version. I tried changing the save as path in the options menu, but no luck. I am able to open the file in the upgraded version but it states that it will open as a student version. Also I cannot copy and paste anything from the student version to the upgraded one. Not sure why.

View 2 Replies View Relatedtrying every layer mask combo I could think of to create a realistic shade of white hair that doesn't look like I just used the brush tool to make it.
I've tried lighting up the shadows with the curves option then using the selective color option. But all that does is make a very fake looking film to put over the eyebrows (ya it's eyebrows I'm working on, I'm trying to get them to match a white wig the subject is wearing.)
I've also tried using the solid color option, and a color overlay and that just came out weird.
Has anyone ever turned pitch black hair to white and had it still look like hair?
I have a user in my group that is hesitant to upgrade to 2012 because , he has many lisp routines that are associated with the PREVIOUS selection feature. This selection is very useful in that when you are moving or selecting many objects you can enter P for previous and the object will be selected.
In 2009, when you select objects then hit escape, then try to execute a command requesting to use the Previous, AutoCAD will remember the last selected object and then highlight it.
In 2012, when you select objects then hit escape, then try to execute a command using P for previous, it will not highlight the previous object selected but will highlight the previous object where a command was executed on.
Hope I haven't lost you. It seems there should be a setting under SELECTION of how to manipulate the Previous selection feature.
I upgraded from CS5 to CS6 when it was released. A couple of weeks ago I uninstalled both CS5 and an old version of Photoshop Elements v7 that had been on my machine.
Even though I use CS6 I just noticed that when I look for or open a PSD file from CS6 that my PSD files are defined in the "Type" column as follows "PhotoshopElements.PSDFile.7"
I no longer have Elements 7 on my machine and I'm concerned that there might be an artifact from that old app that is being used by CS6 instead of current versions of PSD.
How to confirm I am using only current CS6 PSD conversions?
Environment: Windows 7, CS6, Lightroom 4.
I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded to AutoCAD 2013. Now I have one AutoCAD 2013 and five copies of AutoCAD LT 2009. A strange problem started ovccuring after starting using of AutoCAD 2013. Quite a lot of files done with LT 2009 are not opening in AutoCAD 2013. When you tru to open this file, nothing happens and a blank new drawing is opened by AutoCAD 2013.
I have DWG TrueView from release 2010 to 2012. These files opened perfectly well in 2010 & 2012. So I downloded DWG TrueView 2013 and installed it to check whter my AutoCAD 2013 installation was faulty. These files do not open in DWG TrueView 2013 also.
I tried exporting the file to DXF in LT 2009 and then tried to open the DXF file in 2013. It gave a message that it could not read the file. The odd fact is that it is not happening with every file done in LT 2009. Some open and some do not.
In my opinion, this seems to be a serious bug in 2013. Any body else experinecing this? I am unable to attach any file as all the files are larger than 2 MB even after zipped and I cannot upload such a big file here.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with PE 12. It is not saving new versions of files in version sets even though I select the option to do so when I save-as from the editor.
Also, when I create a new file, say a photomerge panorama, it does not include it into elements even though I have selected the option to do so.
This appears to be a bug (or 2).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a newly downloaded version of AutoCAD LT 2013 that will not save files in older formats for autocad 2004 and 2007. When trying to save the user gets the following error message "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created."
I did some searching in the discussion groups and it appears that this is a known/common issue with autcad lt 2013. Is there a work around to saving it in a format that older autocad applications can view?
I received files in 2010 format which I converted to 2007 using true view. Now when I open in 2013 I get a message "file needs recovery" I recover and save. when I open again I get the same message in 2013.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm always fighting memory problems with Photoshop CS6, which I work in for 5 to 8 hours every day. I have a 27" iMac with a 3.4GHz i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 2GB Ram and over 1.5TB of available scratch disk space. After working thru a couple of large images I have to start monitoring RAM use via Activity Monitor and reclaiming RAM via Terminal very often in order to continue working.
I believe something strange is happening in the background because very often, when I start a new session, PS "recovers" a "large format document"... one that was properly closed in a previous session, and one that I have not asked PS to open. I feel like my whole memory usage issue is tied to the system somehow holding onto those "large format documents".
