I'm using version 14.1.0.107 and I'm finding that when I select some options from a drop down list to apply to an item, when I go back to that drop down list the option is not ticked? For example, when looking at the Alignment Options for an item in the overlay track, if I select any of those options ('Keep Aspect Ratio' for example), they do not end up ticked?
View 9 RepliesI'm working from a book tutorial and the book wants me to "turn off Surface Selection" in the "Selection Mask Options".
I've looked everywhere but can't find "Selection Mask Options".
Is there something like a "Maya 2011 Bible" out there (or even 2010 or 2012)? The publisher that makes the Bible series does not seem to have made one for Maya since 4.5. I was wondering if there was a book or website that simply listed every Maya option with a short description and its location.
If I select a "New" document in CS5 I find that I am only able to paint or fill in in grey scale. This is new. In the Color options panel the grey scale slider is ticked and all other options are greyed out.
How do I remove the tick by the side of the grey scale slider and make the other options available for selection as normal. I note that if I open a previously opened document all options are available it just seems to be new blank documents.
Is there a way to turn on the ctrl shift alt and space bar options for the selection window like it works with the shape tools?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed the Corporate and Education version of VideoStudio Pro X3 on 20 computers in a lab at a small high school where this product represents a significant portion of our software budget. In the documentation, I see options like "Easy Edit" and "Burn" on the startup screen, however my startup screen only has the options of "Advanced Edit" and "DV-to-DVD Wizard". At every turn, where an option to burn a DVD should be present, buttons are missing. I have uninstalled/reinstalled a hundred times looking over every option, and I can't find anything that is unchecked. Do you know why VS Pro X3 has no Burning capabilities for me?

I can't seem to get 1080p but I can get 720p but in X4 I recall I could do 1080p for MP4 though.
I rendered (in animation software) a series of .png files with transparency for an overlay in VidStudio. 150 of them that all need to be shortened from the default photo duration of 3:00 seconds. Plus, for each one, I will need to adjust the size of the overlay track. Is there a way to manage the entire track for these adjustments? Or a place to adjust the preferences..?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from VS9 to X2. When I "Create Video File," the audio format options I have are:
PCM
IMA ADPCM
CCITT A-Law
CCITT u-Law
GSM 6.10
Microsoft ADPCM
I seem to recall having more options than this with VS9, but I'm not sure if it's a VS issue or something that needs to be installed on my computer. I also have a new computer, so I don't have all the codecs and audio encoders that I had previously collected over time on my old computer. For example, I used to encode videos for youtube using Xvid. I always had the option for mp3 audio. Now, I only have the above options. I don't even know what most of those are.
Are there some plug-ins that I need to install?
Also, is there a manual that I can download somewhere? I didn't see anything in the install folder, the support area of Corel's site
I have some mini dv tapes that seem to have been shot in: 4:3 720x480,DVD, Variable BitRate
I am currently in the capture video section of VideoStudio and wanted to know what is the highest quality capture format for these tapes.
From the video studio drop down it says that i can capture in the following:
DVD
DV
Mpeg
VCD
SVCD
Also under options> Video options
It has a bunch of Video profiles, should i change any of those?
My final output will be onto Standard DVDs
So my questions are:
1- What is the best above format to capture in?
2- Should i change the video options profile?
3- Ideally I would love to have the video shown/edited in 16:9 is that possible considering it was shot inf 4:3? If 16:9 is possible should i capture it differently to achieve 16:9?
Is there a way to leave the Options Panel opened as its default position? Right now I have to click each time on the blue botton to open the Options panel at each clip that I decide to edit (it closes automatically each time) on VSX3
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from VideoStudio 12 to Pro X4, and have noticed that I don't have all of the Video Save Options (specifically Media type and Audio format) that I have with 12.
I produce video for playback by a regional local access provider, and their requirements are mpeg-2 video with mpeg layer 2 audio. Both of these are options that are available in 12 but not X4. I understand that NTSC DVD video is mpeg-2, but I'm still at a loss with the audio format.

I just installed X4 and hooked up two mini-DV sources to capture from mini-DV tapes. When I start the program, click the Capture tab, and click on the Options up-arrow, the options panel slides up, but it is completely blank. No place to select a source and start capturing from the devices. The devices are a Sony GV-D1000 DVR and a Canon GL2 camcorder, both connected by USB to my WinXP PC. The right drivers are installed, and the devices are recognized by Windows (Camcorder appears as a drive in Windows Explorer, etc.)
I'm at a loss. I have X3 at home and I sort of remember what that Options panel is supposed to look like, but I've never seen it totally blank. I'm traveling right now, and I need to dump these tapes to my HD.
I can only create project with SD frame sizes. 720p or 1080p is not offered in the Project details setup.
Also when I want to capture from a 720p webcam I can only select "DVD" in the dropdown list for the capture proifle. Why are all the HD features missing
VS X4 Pro with SP2 on W7 x64.
When I use video filter Pan & Zoom and I change options want to change the filter options, then VS crashes. The other filters work fine. I doubt if I put a video with this error.

Also it would be nice to be able to turn on Dolby 5.1 by default as well.
Problems in selecting the DVD recording speed in VideoStudio pro X4? I prefer to use a fairly low rate, but the selection is greyed out in my Create DVD window and it seems to be set permanently on maximum. I've tried a program re-install but it hasn't worked at all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have made six slideshows and saved them as mpg files. I have not made any chapters. I now want to do a DVD menu. What I would like to try is a first menu screen with two options "Play All" and "Scene Selection". Play-all will play all and then return to this first menu page. Scene-selection will go to a second menu page. Any scene selected will play and then return to this second screen which will have a link back to the first menu. I'm really at a loss to see how to do this using the menu creation in VS. Is it possible?

The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. I have tried restarting CAD and rebooting my computer with not luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI currently use X4, but have X5 ready to install. I shoot with a Canon M41 in the lower quality selection of HD. The file is AVCHD with about 16 mbps. The best HD is 24 mbps. I use the lower because with the software included with the camera, creating an AVCHD disk is limited to the lower standard and shooting in the higher standard required considerable time to down render the files to create the AVCHD disk. Camera Manual indicates 60i or 30p. Confused on this issue. When I create a movie in X4, I selected Blu-ray 1920P. This seems to introduce some slight artifacts like moving, fine horizontal lines and some strange flick of some objects like flower fields. Converting to an AVCHD disk takes several hours for a 25 minute movie consisting of 3 shorter movies. Also, the artifact effect is increased. I just did a trial of creating the movies in "same file type as first clip". The resulting file is about 15% smaller. Also, rendering an AVCHD disk is quicker and no artifacts. Am I on the right track? The software included with camera created excellent quality videos but was camera specific and very limited in adjustments, etc. Corel could provide more info about the confusing file types.
Also, X4 will crash with "unknown error caused program to stop". I save frequently to return to where I was editing. Doesn't seem to be a consistent answer on this issue. I hope X5 is more stable.

I have been continually annoyed, when creating a vector mask-heavy document, with trying to select vector mask points by dragging a rectangle only to find that it instead selects a layer higher up which has a larger vector mask.
The only workaround is to manually select the points of my mask or to drag a rectangle from outside the canvas, meaning I have to zoom out or scroll to the edge - sometimes annoying if I am zoomed in quite far.
I know that the move tool can be set to automatically select a layer, depending on what part of the image is clicked, but why is there not an option to turn this off for vector editing?
Say for example, Im doing a new drawing. I make a layer for my "sketch" , I save, then I create a new one and add line art with the brush. I save and exit to continue later. When I open it up again , it shows only the "sketch" layer, and not the recent changes. At first I was weirded out and frustrated, then I noticed by re-starting or turning off and on the PC, it displayed the changes. Its been happening to everything now.. for example I add color to something, and once I close it and open again , it wont show the changes at all, Im relieved knowing that once I reset itll show. But its really uncomfortable, it might even be something with my PC and not Paint.NET itself. But it doesnt happen to anything else.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf you look closely in the attached picture, there is a spot of light blue on the player's helmet, that looks like a mistake (think it should look like the grass behind it)...though it actually may be part of his helmet.
Regardless, I'd like to take it out. My idea was to select the blue with the quick selection tool, then bring that selection out to the grass, select the grass with that size/shape of selection, copy/paste and then bring the grass selection into the blue part so it looks like grass in what was the blue part.
The problem is I don't seem to be able to move the selection without taking the blue with it (so it's not an empty selection and therefore can't select a piece of the grass.)
I have Photoshop CS5 on a Mac OS 10.7.4 My problem is that when I am using curves or a slider, my selection does not stay in the same place. For example, I chose the number 8 on a slider, after I release my selection it will either go one number after or before my selected number. I have had this problem since I got my computer, December 2011, but it has only recently started to frustrated me because of having to use Photoshop a little more than I usually do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I select a hatch or polyline or any object with grips for that matter, and hold down shift to select multiple grips on the object or objects and then press my middle mouse button to pan or scroll it to zoom, the grips that I have selected de-select, meaning I have to set up the view so that all the grips I want to move are visible before selecting them.
This is only happening on some drawings (although it is most of them) and only when I use 2012 not 2011. Which system variable it is that has gone screwy that I need to reset? or is it something else?
how to "drop out" the background from this photo (I have loads to do which are very similar). Thus far I have tried channel selections and the calculations tool + all the normal quick selection tools and I just cant get it to work without spending hours adjusting things. The end effect I need to achieve is a perfect white background without loosing any of the detail if possible. On a side note I have also tried taking the photo on blue, green, black and white backgrounds but due to the number of colours present in the products its just not working for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a flexible sub-assembly in my top assembly. Sometiems I'm trying to demonstrate to others how a mechanism in the sub-assembly works using this flexibility feature. It works great, but when I move just one little part of a flexible assembly, Inventor displays the wire-mesh of the entire flexible assembly, because technically the entire assembly is selected, even though I'm only moving one part. It clutters up the screen very badly, detracting from what I'm trying to show.
Is there a way to prevent Inventor from displaying the selection lines? Either only when I'm moving a part in a flexible assembly (which would be great), or to just turn them off completely when I'm presenting like this? I know I can turn off pre-select, but that doesn't work, because once I start moving a part in the flexible assembly, the assembly is "selected" and the wire-mesh displays.
When creating a selection Command using the PromptXXXOptions and PromptXXXResult. The entities are selected on the current view, but once the selection ends the entities return to an unselected state.
Is it possible to leave them in selection mode.
I want to this, because it will be better to use Editor.SelectImplied() instead of saving the last selection object Ids.
I've created a lisp that draws the boltholes of a pipe flanges, using the correct number of holes, at the correct diameter at the correct bolt-hole diameter and then rotates. Everything works seamlessly, when i do just one flange. But I've discovered that fewuently there will be mulitple times when a user will have to perform the command.
So the idea I had was to do the following:
Select all circles with (setq CirclesFirst (ssget "X" (list (cons 0 "CIRCLE"))))
Go through the code to create the new circles.
Select all circles with (setq Circles (ssget "X" (list (cons 0 "CIRCLE"))))
Remove selection set "CirclesFirst" from "Circles".
But what for some reason (command "_.select" Circles "R" CirclesFirst "") does not work.
Why do ALL tutorial videos show the panels on the right of the screen? I loaded CS6 this week and thought I'd change them to the left. Why? Because I'm right handed and I tend to sit more to the left of the screen, which means I have to squint across to the right side of my very wide monitor to see the edit panels. I have successfully set up a profile with the panels on the left, and find it much easier to use (see below).
But... when I open an image it automatically loads to the left of the monitor (partly under the panels). I can get around that by hitting the 'F' key to get full screen mode with panels and menu, but is there a way to change the default position of the loaded image? I want to move it over to the right side as a default - like it is in screen grab below.

Max shows clean topology, but when I import it into UVlayout, it shows a variety of edges that are not visible in the Max view-port. What am I missing?
Another odd thing is that the Nitrous view-port won't allow me to add a material, or even change the color of the current one. But when I switch to Direct3D it works. Solutions?
