When I preview the clip itself the sound is perfect. However when I preview he actual project, the sound is distorted.?

VideoStudio :: Distorted Audio Playback
Dec 11, 2012Using pro x4, when he imports a AVCHD clip and plays it back, the audio is distorted. The same clips audio is fine playing directly from the desktop, using windows media player. It also plays back fine in another video editing program.
(O.S Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit).

Jul 10, 2011I have recently upgraded my old VideoStudio 12.00 to VideoStudio Pro X4 and have only just started using the program again after a couple of years of absence so I am still on a learning curve.
Can I extract the audio from a video clip and if so how and how can I convert it, if necessary into an Audio Interchange File Format, so that I can export it to a program such as Audacity for removing background wind noise before importing the Audio back into the videoStudio project.
I have tried using all the audio filter functions in VS to remove the background noise, to no avail.

Aug 8, 2011I am working with a project with Corel VideoStudio pro x2 that involves on-screen graphics on the videos. I use a transparent .png file that I put in the Overlay Track #1.
Original file:
Whenever I edit the video or the image, I get distortion around Music Television area. Somehow it looks like the writing Music Television wants to move / increase in size. When I play the project in the preview window, it looks okay.
After saving to a DVD file like MPEG2 file 720/560 it looks like this:
I used the same project on my laptop which has a better graphic card, Corel VideoStudio pro x4 and I get the same results. The image is so pixelated and curvy. I used a different video editing software though, the image looks much smoother:

Oct 29, 2010Just skip from Ulead Media Studio Pro 8 to full version of VS Pro X3. Of course my first question is: Is possible transfer my unfinished projects to VS? And how?
Second: After capture my DV tape from Panasonic 400 to Hard Drive (with default setup and 16:9) I discovered that every few seconds video is distorted as well as sound is distorted too. I am sure that original tape is OK.
VideoStudio :: Combining Audio And Video?
Mar 25, 2011I have never used any video editing software and I have a Video issue I want to shoot video with a Nikon D3100 DSLR in either 720P or 1080P. The camera produces MOV format (see more at the end of the post). I want to record the audio on a Zoom H4 digital recorder (see more at the end of the post.)
I want to combine the audio from the H4 and the video from the Nikon and have them in sync. The vid is of musicians so I need the video of the musicans hands syncing properly with the music they are playing. This will be shot in a "studio" situation. Not a concert.
I will ask the main quesitons first then give some tech specs on the gear.
1) Can the Corel X3 or X4 video software remove the audio from the MOV file and replace it with either the WAV or MP3 from the Zoom H4?
2) With two different devices recording audio and video, will there will be some differences in sync that have to be corrected?
3) Can Corel make adjustments to the audio speed without changing pitch if I need to do that to sync the audio to the video?
4) The H4 can record in WAV or Mp3 in a variety of bitrates. Forgetting the audio quality, does the WAV or MP3 format make a difference as far as syncing goes?
5) If all of this can be done in Corel does it make a difference if I get the X4 or the less expensive X3 software. At least at this point the only extras I would be adding is a title.

VideoStudio :: How To Set Audio Compression Different Than PCM For FLV Video
Feb 2, 2012I am creating video in FLV (custome mode). The only audio compression option is PCM which makes video too big.
How do I add different audio compression codec for FLV video? With other video formats/codecs mpeg-4 I have many moore audio compression options, but not for FLV.
VideoStudio :: X4 Video / Audio Out Of Sync?
Dec 27, 2011I've edited together some PAL SD video clips, that I copied and pasted from my Sony DCR-SX53ES camcorder, and auto-generated music and when I preview the project through the edit screen everything is okay. I then selected Create Video File and DVD and the output file completed successfully, however, when I play back the file both the original audio from the video clips and the added music are out of sync with the video pictures by about 4 seconds.
This did not happen the previous time I used X4 with the same camcorder and on the same PC, how to correct it.

Sep 19, 2012I just downloaded the VideoStudio X5 Trial, and want to crop a 10-minute video of my baby to the minute she's singing. Her grandparents would love it.
I noticed that when I imported the video into the timeline, the audio was about 0.75s ahead of the video, when in "Project" mode. In "Clip" mode it looked/sounded fine. When I render the video, it also has the same sync problem as in "Project" mode.
Here are the details of the video:

Aug 2, 2011I have been trying to capture both Video and Audio in Video Studio Pro X4. I have a program called Diamond One-Touch Video Capture V500 that uses a USB connection for the Video and Stereo output from my Sony Handycam Digital 8 Model DCR-TRV740. The one touch software works well to capture both the Video and Audio, however, I was hoping when I purchased the Corel Video Studio Pro X4, that I would be able to record both video and audio with the capture feature, since V500 Video shows under sources in the capture screen.why the Video Studio will not record the audio while the One Touch Video program will?

Jan 11, 2012im trying to capture in VS x4 but i only get audio. no video is coming up on my capture screen but if i record, the recording will show video... video just wont show up in the capture screen inside VS x4.. i read where people couldnt see video if they were trying to capture DV and some were told to get windv or someother program to get the video but im not trying to capture dv.. im trying to capture video with my tv capture card, avertv hybrid volar max.. it captures the audio thru the vd x4 capture screen but not the video although if i do a recording both audio and video will play in the mpg.. why cant i see the video in the capture screen?

Apr 5, 2012I purchased (USB-Live 2) to convert VHS tapes to DVD. I initially purchased "Ulead VideoStudio 11" to capture and edit video, but the software wouldn't work. I received the following messages: "cannot start the capture graph" or "cannot capture: copy protected material". I was unable to receive a solution from the Hauppauge tech people or the corel tech people, therefore I purchased the Pinnacle studio 12 software and their Dazzle DVC 100 capture device.
Using the "USB-Live 2" device and Pinnacle Studio 12 as my capture software and Ulead VideoStudio 11 to edit and burn, I successfully converted about 100 VHS tapes to DVD disks. Then the Audio would not sync. What happens is that for about 5 minutes the audio will be out of sync, then something happens and the audio will re-sync and stay in sync until the end of the project. But, with the next tape I try to capture the same problem occurs.When in capture mode I can start capture and let it record for about 5 minutes, then, start the tape in the VCR and the audio will be in sync. I wiped the Hard drive and reloaded Windows XP and all of my programs. I also replaced the sound card, but I still have the same problem. I think the problem is with the Hauppauge USB-Live 2 capture device. If I use the Dazzle DV100 there is no sync problem, just a lot of dropped frames.Also, now when I am capturing the video I have no audio but when I edited the project the audio will be on. When I installed the New Sound Card I disabled the onboard HD Audio and it is still disabled.The following are my computer specs.

VideoStudio :: X4 - No Audio For Any Video Playing
Sep 24, 2011I'm using Corel VideoStudio X4. I'm facing problem that there is no any audio for any type of video playing. AVI, MP4.. any type of file I play, no audio plays.. All files are checked & plays correctly in any video player, GOM, VLC player etc...
No problem with video files. there is no audio for sample files provided by corel itself. When I play mp3 like audio files, sound plays perfectly. But some problem with video files only... I edited one file but no audio for that file also when I play edited clip in video player like VLC.
PC Configuration:
Windows 7 Ultimate.
HP DV6 laptop. 1GB graphic card, i5 2nd Gen.

Oct 26, 2010I'm trying to capture video from a VHS/DVD machine using an EasyCap (2.0 I think). I'm able to get video but it's pulling the audio from my computer's mic. I investigated settings and found that 1) the format resets to MPEG if I set it on DVD and 2) when I go into Options > Video and Audio Capture... and select the only option in the drop-down for Audio device that says USB, the program crashed. I opened it back up and saw that it was still set on USB for the Audio device, but when testing I didn't get the video's audio. I'm new to capturing video this way, am I missing something? I double checked that the cables are plugged in correctly.

I read a post on this forum about usage rights that was a bit vague stating that sample audio and visuals cannot be used in a commercial environment ?
I use both Corel Video Studio " Cause its time line Rocks "and Sony Vegas Movie Studio " Cause its H.264 for 360P video Rocks, I can use everything that comes with Sony Vegas Movie Studio for private and commercial use. Is the same true for Corel Video Studio ?
The reason I ask is because there is an audio track in Corel Video Studio sample area Named " Mo5.mpa " that I would really like to use in my Youtube video.
Ps if I cannot use the sample Audio Track is there a Royalty free Music area that I can purchase the track for use on Youtube >>>> ?

Jan 11, 2011A friend of mine shot some video with his JVC everio on 1/8/11.The native files PLAY fine in VS3 however any attempt to convert to any output video file or just output the audio track (which is what I really want to do) results in random audio "skips" like what happened when an LP had a scratch and a stylus couldn't play it.I have VS SP2 installed along with the audio patch on the Corel site.
I've successfully exported the MOD files to other formats using a freeware program called Video Pad from nchsoftware.com, so I can only assume VS has a problem.
I thought before I downloaded that MOD file converter, that's been discussed here, I would ask.Seems that a PAYware software like VS, shouldn't have this problem.Prior to using MOD files, I used AVI files in VS and exporting to an audio file worked just peachy.
VideoStudio :: Video - Audio Out Of Sync
Oct 9, 2011I have read the thread regarding sound breaking up in ProX3. I have this same problem in ProX3 and ProX2. But all of a sudden I am also experiencing the problem of the video and audio being out of sync in files from my Sony Handycam HDR-CX350 set on Standard. The video files I take using either a Sony or Olympus that I mainly use for still shots work fine.
When I first installed ProX2 and then ProX3 my struggle was with the changes in menus and such as I had been using VS11.5 but the videos themselves worked okay. Now all of a sudden I am experiencing the sound problems. I cannot tie the changes in with any specific Win update as I just don't remember the sequence of events.
At one point I had installed a PowerPoint video converter which gave me a registry error message at the time but the sound problems developed much after that time.
Yesterday I downloaded a trial version from another company thinking perhaps I needed to move on but I believe the out of sync problem is worse with that software than with Corel software.
I am wondering if a setting got changed in how the software manages the video from the handycam but I guess I am not smart enought to see what it might be.
VideoStudio :: Video Goes Black But Audio Continues
Jun 5, 2011when dragging a clip into a project and for some reason half way through the clip, the video goes black but the audio continues?? It's happened a few times for me when the clip is particularly large eg High Def, 4gb, 25mins long (AVCHD). It makes editing impossible because my VSP x3 crashes when I try to play that clip. When I click the edit bar to the good part of the clip, I get the usual "still picture" at that point, but in the faulty segment, I still get a black preview screen for the "still".
Splitting the clip doesn't work so I'm presuming there's a proxy file problem. Anti-virus was switched off and I allowed sufficient time for the clip to move into the project. A real nuisance when trying to preview & edit.

Dec 29, 2010I am using VS 10 and I have successfully captured all the video needed for this project (DV format). My project is an interview where I used 2 cameras during the recording session. On one camera I used a microphone and I want to use that audio throughout the project for consistency. At the beginning of the session I recorded a timer from my laptop screen to better sync the video during editing.
I placed one camera video on the video track and the other on the overlay #1 track. I moved the overlay clip so it matched the frame of the timer on the video track. The 2 tracks synched up perfectly. How to cut back and forth from the second camera. I extracted the video track audio to the audio track thinking I could just cut the video track and the overlay track and slide the overlay track up to the video track. But, it won’t let me cut the overlay track. By the way, while not an expert,I am also not a first time user with the software as I have made a number of projects over the years.
VideoStudio :: Video And Audio Drift Out Of Sync On DVD
Jan 29, 2013I was following the old instructions on the recommended way of working with UVS10+ re DVD creation, i.e. do the work on the project save as a video file then come back into UVS10+ with a new project with nothing in the timeline (old computer Win XP, for burning I have a video editing profile) when ready to go into burn phase. In burn phase did the title, added transitions between the 10 clips, let UVS10+ auto add chapters between clips.
Kept all burn phase properties the same as the original, with smart render (no re-render of compatible MPEG2).
Burnt it on to a DL disc, all seemed hunky dory (but took ages to do the title) until came to play it, and then I found that the sound had gone progressively out of sync on the DVD.
The video files are kept on an external hard drive connected via USB. To be honest the old XP computer does run very slow now, as they all do with time as leeches attach themselves and drain speed and resources.
My question is what are the usual suspects for sync problems ? Data transfer from external hard drive ? Project settings in burn phase different from edit phase ?
Would it be better to create an iso on the internal C-Drive, then burn from the iso ? NB whatever USB port I attach devices to front/rear etc. I have always got the message this device can run faster, searched the net tried all the tips to no avail.
However this did not prevent me from creating single layer DVDs without sync problems in the past using this set-up/way of working, but PC is way slower now.
I guess the PC's effective speed might be in the frame ? How far back will the 'rot' go ?
Should I go as far back as putting the converted clips into the time line in the edit phase (totally new project), or will the VSP project/video files be ok, i.e. problem at data transfer/burn stage.
I'm thinking about re-doing the XP user profile to ensure that later installs have not cluttered all the profiles on the machine, i.e. including the video editing profile.
