VideoStudio :: Unspecified Error When Burning AVCHD DVD

Oct 30, 2011

Whenever I try to Burn my project to a DVD I get an unpsecified error after about 10 minutes and the program forces a shutdown. The progress shows that it is Converting the Title 001/001. I took a quick look at the DMP file and it looks like it has something to do with permissions of the program. I'm using Win 7 64 bit OS, Visual Studio Pro X4 SP1. What is the default location to have all of your videos and project files so that there are no permission problems whe you go to burn DVD?

VideoStudio :: Unspecified Error Burning Blu-ray

Sep 26, 2013

I am getting the same error trying to burn a BluRay. The preview looks perfect, but I just keep making expensive coasters. When burning DVD's is to create a "Disc Image" first, but when I try this for a BluRay, that option is greyed out and not selectable.

How to create a BluRay image file so I can access it from the tools menu and choose "Burn from disc image"? What is causing the 'unspecified error" when trying to burn a BluRay?

VideoStudio :: Creating And Burning BDMV And AVCHD Folders With DMF 7 SE?

Jan 3, 2011

How can I burn the folders created at Step 3 of DMF 7 SE on a disc?

in AVCHD mode :

1.the folders are created in a folder named "AVCHD" (that consists of a BDMV sub-folder) . Do I have to burn the AVCHD folder on the disc or just the BDMV folder (that is a sub folder of the AVCHD folder created) ?

2.if I use Nero to burn AVCHD folders on a DVD, what type of DVD format do I have to select ? DVD-Video? (the AVCHD folders do not contain any VIDEO_TS files)? DVD-ROM(ISO)? DVD-ROM(UDF)? DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO)?

in Blu-ray mode :the folders created are in a folder named BDMV. Is it what I have to burn on a blu-ray disc (the BDMV folder or just the sub-folders)?

VideoStudio :: Burning H.264 Video File In M2TS Format To AVCHD DVD

Aug 20, 2011

I have a h.264 video file in .m2ts format, captured using a TV card, and I want to burn this to an AVCHD DVD. I've been trying to do this with VSX4. I don't want the video to be re-encoded because it's already in a suitable format. If I open X4, and then Create Disc and insert the video, the video plays fine and everything looks OK. However, when I click Burn on the final screen, I get a message saying that the video will take some time to render (oddly, since I've chosen the option not to convert compatible files, and VS seems to be taking notice of this choice because if I de-select it, the video size on the disc indicator increases). If I click OK, the rendering process seems to start but it jumps to 3% and then nothing happens. It just sits there.

I thought maybe VS had a problem with the video, so I tried inserting it onto the timeline, and I can edit and output it from there without any problems. But, I can't burn it to AVCHD DVD without re-encoding it, which I don't want to do because it will reduce the quality of what is already a compatible file.

VideoStudio :: X4 Pro - Unspecified Error 5:0:0 During Burn

Apr 22, 2011

On Windows 7 OS (64bit) getting the following error when attempting to burn a DVD: Unspecified error 5:0:0

I've attached a jpeg image containing the error.

Tried looking in the knowledgbase, but of course it's under construction. Tried contacting support, but of course the chat system is down. Then to add insult to injury, friggin Corel wants to charge me $15 to describe to them this burn error on their product. If I had known that this was the quality of product and level of support I was going to receive, I never would have purchased this product.

VideoStudio :: X6 Random Unspecified Error

May 2, 2013

I am trying to create a Photo Slideshow in VideoStudio Pro x6 - during the editing preview or when I try to share the program crashes with an unspecified error. The original project was 8 Minutes and the preview would crash at about the four minute mark. I thought it was possibly the length of the project so I tried split the number of photos in two and put half into a project that previewed and exported fine, dropped the other half in a second project that would then crash at random spots in the preview process. Tried deleting several of the photos, thinking maybe the format of the photos, but that did not work. Is there a know error in the creation of photo slideshows by any chance? I have tried this on two different laptops, one windows xp the other windows 7.

Error Signature -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AppName: vsutio.exe AppVer: 16.0.0.0 ModName: u32jpg.fio ModVer: 1.0.0.0 Offset: 00004ee4
___________________________________________________________________________________________________

As a note, I was originally attempting this in studio 11, which I own and it was doing the same thing. I downloaded x6 thinking it might fix the issues because of better compression, etc. I would like to purchase x6, I love the interface and ease of use and built in effects, but I can see having to do many of these types of projects and would like to be sure that it will function properly.

VideoStudio :: Unspecified Error In Rendering DVDs

Sep 17, 2013

I'm in a real pickle: Bought a top shelf Sony V. Cam. In HD the format is AVCHD, which X5 Pro doesn't want to know. The Sony software,'Play Memory Home' only allows basic editing like trimming of clips. So I tried 'Batch Convert' and picked MPEG as target to edit my 1 hr 4 mins of Kruger Park wildlife, which entails hours of work. When I start on the disc burning procedure (or video file production) after several mins I get the 'The program encountered an unspecified error and will be closing down',

I have tried different output choices, like 'DVD" or 'AVCHD' at different compression, tried deselecting hard- and software acceleration etc, to no avail, same error every time, I get told to send the Dump file to Corel for analysis, fat lot that would do! If I started with a conversion to a different file system I would probably have to go through the editing again, sound, transitions and all?

VideoStudio :: Unspecified Error Has Occurred - X4 Authoring

Mar 10, 2011

Just a heads up on an old issue which still exists in the burning module of X4. Apparently nothing has been updated from X2 other than reintegrating it with the editing software. Unspecified is maddeningly vague but If you get this message during the authoring stage it may be due to a glitch in some of the menu templates. I have found that using certain menu templates if you uncheck the "motion menu" box it will crash the production at the final stage with this message occurring. If this happens you must leave the motion menu box checked (which is the template default) even though you aren't using a motion menu. It appears to have no effect on the finished product. I have found this glitch with a number of the text menu templates that I like to use. I know it took me some effort to figure this out back in X2.

VideoStudio :: Creating MP4 HD Files - Program Encountered Unspecified Error

I'm running an older dual core intel T2080 CPU with Vista, nothing fancy. It seems to happen with videos that are around an hour and a half. If I keep my videos to around an hour it will complete the rendering process. I am able to see the final 8GB file that was created, but it won't play as the rendering wasn't 100% finished with the longer video. This whole thing happens on different PC's so it's not my program installation.

VideoStudio :: AVCHD To Blu-ray

Nov 6, 2012

I've a professional Panasonic camera capable of 720p and 1080p AVCHD recording both at 50 or 25 frames per sec (PAL). My recent clips are AVCHD h.264 50fps @ 24000-26000kbps. I usually render the file to film first, then create a disc after. I use VSP x5

For a short edited film (less than 5gb), I'm happy to make an AVCHD full-HD disc and enjoy a seamless and lossless transfer from project to a standard disc. The picture quality seems true to the original recording.

Q1) For longer films where I need to use a Blu Ray, what exactly is the best route to take and what boxes should be (or not) checked?? I did create a Blu Ray disc using the largest output 35000kbps max and I thought afterwards the footage looked a bit "contrasty" and second hand.

Q2) I've read in the forums that 50fps for 1080p Blu Ray is not available yet (hence the conversion to 25fps). Is it available at 720P and what/where are the settings?

Q3) If I know before filming that I'll be needing a Blu Ray, is it advisable to shoot the original at 25fps to avoid deterioration at render stage?

Q4) For downsizing to 720x576 Standard Definition discs, do I need smart render on? Two pass encode? for best quality?

Bottom line = I want to avoid my footage being unnecassarily hauled through rendering hoops and the final AVCHD or Blu Ray to be as best it can.
