I decided to put som Text into a picture I had been editing. I used the "Type tool", didn't do any strange settings at all, and afterwords. When I was going to type in some other pictures I couldn't see the text I was typing!
I can see on the textlayer that comes up that the typing is there. But it doesn't show up on the picture :S
I have a normal size on the lettering, good color (so you don't think that I'm writing with white on white)
I have been using PSE9 for a couple of years successfully. I use the horizontal type tool in Edit to put details on my photographs. Today the function has stopped; I have de-installed and re-installed my original programme but the same result - nothing. I can select the horizontal type tool and set the cursor; but nothing appears as I type. A layer does appear and when it is clicked you can see the text that I have typed but it simply doesn't get onto the photograph any more.
and probably more, but when you consider how little functionality the loss of those three buttons give me, you can understand how little use I am getting out of CS6 so far.It makes no difference whether I use 32-bit or 64-bit. Â I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on a relatively new Toshiba Satellite C660-1LD with 2.53 gigahertz Intel Core i3 M 380 with 3892 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory* with onboard Intel(R) HD Graphics.(Processor & Memory details from Belarc Advisor) Â I sometimes get a message on load saying that Photoshop cannot find my 3D settings (although my Graphics card has 3D capability), but as I'm not using Photoshop's 3D editing tools, this is no issue to me at present.
I'm just getting a horizontal line when I try to type a letter in Photoshop CS6. No Brush Presets it seems. I was previously Painting in PS CS6. I use Apple OS X Ver 10.8.Â
I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?
I want to create text on a circle path, so drew the circle, went to the "type on a path tool" and clicked on the circle. I keep getting the message "can't create type". I have tried to use the direct selection tool to select the circle first and without the direct selection.
My Type Tool does not select type by double clicking or click and drag. (Windows CS 5 V15.1). This is what I have tried so far and the problem still exists. Â Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it. Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it. Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.
Working on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck. Â By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.
the type tool won't let me insert any type whatsoever in JPG or PSD files. I click the type tool and then click somewhere on the image and all it gives me is a dot but no flashing cursor. As I said, resetting my prefs/settings while starting up Photoshop did not help. Another weird thing it does is that when I go to Canvas Size for a medium sized image, it says that the width is 588 inches and the height is 288 inches.
I use Photoshop 7 & do a lot of cleanup of bitmap/tiff images, such a logos & symbols that need cleaning up around the edges etc. Holding the shift down while drawing with a brush in eraser, etc. mode creates a straight horizontal line & that makes cleaning a horizontal edge easy & quick.
Is there any keystroke combinations that will draw a perfectly straight vertical line?
I need to cover some details about the photo such as: date - location, etc.. - Until now I used the brush tool with a stroke to cover the details I have mentioned, but I can not run it with the mouse perfectly horizontal line. There is another way that I could use?
I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.Â
I have been working in In-design for my classes and everything is working fine. But recently I needed to do some work in Illustrator but when I opened the program up, some of my tools seems to be slightly bugged or something. Â The type tool will not make the anchor where I initially click. It creates the anchor around the center point of the type box. This is really annoying because if you have a specific grid, it will not line up to it. I have never adjusted this I don't think because now I have no clue on how to fix it! Â Also, my pen tool seems to be messed up. I first create the starting point, but then when I make the second point and try to drag out the node arms to make a curve, it only has one arm! Thus, the curve never is created, so I can't draw with the pen tool, therefore I fail my classes..
I'm pretty new and have a simple problem that for some reason I can't figure it out! And that is how to make a series of lines on the image that are all perfectly horizontal or perfectly verticle. This will be part of a chart and the lines will be dividers. So the chart will have basically 21 rectangles with 3 rectangles across and 7 rectangles down.
So, I KNOW how to use the straight line tool to make the vertical and horizontal lines but I don't know how to keep the lines perfectly vertical and horizontal and parallel with each other!
i used the word tool to type.. and then i saved my design in .psd format. Sometimes when i open that .psd file, i couldn't edit the word that i typed. y is that so? anywhere i go wrong?
I am working on a project which need a 200 points Type tool but when I hoppen the rol down arrow the maximum I have is 72pt. Is there a way to add points in this roll down arrow?
I hit 'F' twice to go 'Fullscreen'... then I hit 'Tab' to clear the palettes. From this point I decide to edit some text and hit the 'T' key to bring up the type tool..... with me so far?
I edit the text.... and then what??... how do I 'release' the type tool and allow others to be chosen?
there's no palettes to click because I've cleared them all.... All I have is the keyboard to tap on.
Currently I'm 'releasing' the type tool, by hitting 'Escape' ..... but then I lose all the new text I've produced....
I am having a very weird thing going on in Photoshop CS. Every time I turn on the type tool (horizontal) and try to use it, it won't type any letters, and instead when I strike the letter keys on my keyboard, it activates other tools based on their keyboard shortcut letters (such as L for lasso). I have tried resetting system defaults and still have this problem.
Another weird thing that happens is that when I try to type letters, the canvas turns pink, and the letters turn white (this might be connected to the keyboard shortcut for flood fill)
When I click on the "type tool" it won't type because the little square icon at the top will not maintain a color. It keeps turning into a little question mark even after I choose the color type I want. What is the matter with it? The problem is with Photoshop CS5.
I am using HP Pavilion g series, Vista window.Using photoshop CS3. Biggest problem i facing that when i type something and i want to go to next line and i press button ENTER. It wont go to next line That means i couldnt write in kind of paragraph. For each line i have to set new layer.
