when I create stiching look, such as this ---------, I've created a line and ereased the middle part.
But is there any way I can create a path and somehow manupilate the pen/pencil to create the stitch?
I already know the "spacing" function on the brushes palette. This doesent really create "-". It's more of ".".
Is there a way to put up two or more pictures on the photoshop work screen (like the example below) and stitch them together using a rectangular marquee tool instead of just blending them

For example, my text begins horizontally, continues to the right, and gradually curves downward. As the text curves downward I would like it to taper smoothly into a narrower and narrower text.

On the odd occasion when I am creating a new path, it inverts itself, i.e. when I select it I get the opposite of what I have masked, (also the Path icon background will switch from grey to white indicating the path has reversed).
I've had this problem in version 7/CS1 and CS2, my normal fix is to ditch the prefs and I get the tool back the way it should be but this is proving a pain.
I thought it could be a keyboard shortcut that I was hitting by mistake but I can't seem to find any reference to a short cut for this. (Searched online and Ninness book Power Shortcuts.)
Every time I path something and then try to mark and fill in any kind color I get a blur around the marked area.
I have the swedish Photoshop and donno what the name of it, but maybe I can explain:
in the marked area you can choose in the meny, so that you get a kind of fuzz around the marked are, when you fill it up you get a blur around the marked area. It´s this Im trying to explain, I get this fuzzu marked area around when Im trying to fill in the color on the path that I have selected and marked.
I have been reading about the Pen Tool and according to what I am reading (off various websites) here is what I am supposed to do...
1. Open a new workspace
2. Click the Pen Tool
3. Make a path using 4 or so anchor points
4. Select the Brush tool
5. Click on the Paths tab (on the right where the layers are)
6. Double-click on the path to save it.
7. Then right-click on the path and choose STROKE PATH.
The only problem is that my STROKE PATH is DISABLED.

I haven't a clue how to get that up on CS6 (on mac) and when you right click it, it just seems to continue adding the path.
In the past I have traced the outline of an image using the pen tool by placing as many points along the contour or outline as possible. Once I closed the path the appearance was not perfectly smooth.
I remember using a tool after that to smooth the path that would eliminate any uneven or jagged edges and make the curves really smooth. How to do this in CS6?
I am working with the pen tool on a gray background and it is very painful to clearly see the pen tool lines...... What is a simple way to work around these problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAlthough I think the pen tool could be an excellent way of making selections, I find that in many situations the path color hardly shows against a midtone or gray area I want to select.
Furthermore I find the tangent line makes things worse since it's the same color as the path (gray) and can easily obscure the selection I attempt to make.
Is it really not possible to change the path color when using the pen tool?
It's probably very easy, but I still can't figure it out. When I use the path-tool (Photoshop CS2), I keep getting a filled spline. But I'd rather just have an empty one instead, maybe even with a different brush? Is this possible without switching to Illustrator?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm making skins for Vst software synthesizers & FX and use Photoshop CS2 (and partly 3ds Max 7) for my projects.
The main tricky things I face problem with are VU meters, faders and mainly knobs. In general all I have to do is make 128 (or less) differrent frames of the moving knob and then stitch them perfectly one above the other vertically and then export the final image (the mondage) as tga file 32 bit uncompressed with Alpha channel for the transparency. They must be perfectly stitched (not even a pixel wrong) or else the knob or fader will wobble as you move it.
I manage fine with square VUs & faders where no transparency is present (I have also recorded an action for this) but can't find a way to deal with frames which have transparent background such as knobs or circular VUs (or even square faders which have a transparent space around them).
The procedure I follow is:
-Open frame1 file (which also has Layer Fx as shadows, bevel etc)
-Ctrl+click on the knob layer icon to select it.
-Select inverse
-Layer Mask-Hide Selection (from the Layer menu)
-Canvas size: same width, double hight added down
-From the Channels tab I make visible the mask I created earlier
-On the image: Magic Wand (not anti-aliased checked, tolerance=32) on the unmasked square underneth my mask to select it
-Delete the mask channel.
-Open frame 2 document
-Select all & Copy Merged
-On frame 1 document: paste into.
-.....I continue in the same way for all the frames till done.
2 problems:
1) Sometimes the frames are not perfectly alligned to each other causing wobbles while used as knobs or VUs.
2) If what I design is not dead centered (sometimes I want it to be this way),
then when I Paste Into, Photoshop automatically alligns it to the selection borders (the center of the square selection) even though I have deselected Snap from the View menu. (..don't forget we are talking for transparent background)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a path with the type tool, selected the path in the Paths panel, I started typing on the path and the type followed the path, though I chose edit > free transform path and scaled it, though the text did not move with the new path and now it is no longer on the path?
1. Why did the text not stay on the path as I transformed it?
2. How do you hide the path so you do not have to see it? I want it there only as a guide for my text to flow across.
I've recently upgraded to Photoshop CS5.1 and I've encountered that the pen tool will only let me fill in one path at a time. Older versions of Photoshop would fill in all the paths at the same time so I don't see why the pen tool would be capable of doing that in a newer version. Â

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble stitching photos together in CS4.I am stitching together photos from microscopic flourescence images. I am trying to get a single image of the entire specimen but every time I try photomerge it leaves one of the images in the corner. It does a great job of adding all of the other images together but every time it refuses to add the last image (it could be the first, the point is that it is an image on one of the ends).

I am using PS 6.0
took a huge number of pictures. I tried to take a sort of 'panoramic' picture by holding the camera steady and rotating it (just rotating the camera, not moving it's location or anything). I ended up with a whole bunch of photos and now I want to stitch them together. I have 3 photos that together cover the whole panorama I want to print out.
So. I've played around a bit in Photoshop and I just can't seem to get it working. There is a bit of an overlap on each photo so my idea was to sort of choose what I wanted from each and use the eraser to give myself that effect. The problem is the perspective is screwy and it doesn't look quite right. I also have a problem with my camera in that the right side of the photo is considerably lighter than the left side, this doesn't matter for most photos but it's something I have to somehow deal with for this panorama.
When I was 12 years old, i was watching tv when i spotted Bert Monroy on ScreenSavers he was giving a tutorial bout stitching texts... since i don't know bout photoshop yet i couldn't understand a thing he was saying, but i still got fascinated bout the output....
Now that i know how to use Photoshop i couldn't meet the same results as Bert Monroy's. I Know it's abouty the Brushes Palette but i seemed to have tried all the settings but still haven't found the results i wanted.
I just need to know a few things before trying to stitch some photos I took:1. Do the pictures need to be in JPEG or RAW?2. How many pictures, at most, can I stitch? I have tried about 6 photos in RAW as it came from the camera and I think it was to much.

Lets say that im drawing a path with the pen tool and I get it wrong putting the last segnment and press Ctrl+Z to Undo, the path breaks and you have to go back and click on the last point again to keep drawing.....

Another thing that im experimenting is that the intuos3 in illustrator 6 the selection even with the double click on the side of the pencil is getting stuck for a brief moment when i stop pressing the pen in the tablet surface.
Prior to Photoshop CS6, a curve on a path could be moved using the Direct Selection Tool without altering the path beyond the two enclosing points. If you manipulated the curve, only the inside handles of the two points (that create the curve) would change - and only in length - as shown below:
Unfortunately, in Photoshop CS6, if you manipulate the path curve with the Direct Selection Tool, the handles both sides of the points move freely - affecting the path beyond those points:
- is there a way to revert to the prior behaviour? The Photoshop CS6 behaviour may seem more intuitive (or something), but it's less precise and alter parts of the path that are fine already.
How to make the selection using the 'Path Select Tool' to auto fit the image edge to edge. The reason is that I have 9 images that have to be exactly the same size with slightly rounded corners for a website header, one for each country. Is there any way to auto fit?

Unfortunately the results are pretty awful. No matter how I import the shots (through bridge, LR or PS4 itself) or the type of RAW (DNG or ARW, even TIFFs) the wizard will align but not stitch the photos together. Plenty of examples can be found in this flickr set: Code:
My understanding is that Panoramas Stitching (=>PaSt) feature is available with PhotoShop Elements (PE). I am not familiar with the PE product. Is PE a stand alone product or does it require PS?
Is PaSt available with PS (with which minimum ver.)?
I read here in the forums that there are various capacity problems with PaSt.
In that regard, and any other aspect, if PaSt is available with PS, what are the main differences using PS or PE with PaSt feature?
