Sep 4, 2013The problem is with the 'rectangular marquee tool' ... after I select a box, the tool defaults to a marquee that eliminates a portion of the first selected box. The curser changes to show the '+' curser with an 'x' in the lower right of the cursor.

When I select an area with the rectangular marquee tool a window with the following text appears:
"Warning. No pixels are more than 50% selected, the selection edges will not be visible"
When I close the warning window the selection is no longer indicated.

On the desktop, everytime I draw a Rectangular Marquee, a very distracting black box with dimensions comes on at the lower right corner of the selection. This does not happen with CS6 on my laptop. May 1, 2009I have CS2 on Windows XP. For some reason (probably operator error) I can no longer move the Rectangular Marquee Tool in a fixed size mode arond my picture. When I expand it to, for example, 8.5" x 11" it just sits there.
I used to be able to expand it, then move it about the photo until I got it where I wanted to do the crop.Does anyone have any ideas what has happened? Also I notice that the crosshairs now have a little bar in the lower right quadrant when I roll my cursor on the photo. Not sure if that is significant.

Dec 13, 2006I can't use my "Rounded Rectangle Tool" correctly anymore. When I draw the shape it's just a square without the rounded corners. The radius is set on 1 pixel. The cursor also displays a really small circle on the bottom right with a square inside of it.

Apr 25, 2009I have NO idea how I managed to do this, but if I copy a piece from a file, the rectangular changes from square to sort of roundish.
And when I do copy and paste (control C - Control V), the edges of the copied piece in the new file are transparant. Which is exactly what I do NOT want! How can I change this back to the normal way of copying?

A couple of strange things have/are happening:
-At one point, while I was in transform selection I there was added space around the marquee, which became the new edge, as opposed to the marquee itself.
-The marquee is in the shape of a rounded rectangle.
