when i cut out a section of an image my rectangular marque tool changes from a square to a rounded square and softens the edge of both the image cut out and the remaining pic, i know its just a setting but how do i change the tool back just to cut regular squares?
If I make a selection using any of the Selection Tools then I can drag the selection with the same tool except for the Rectanguar Marque Tool (RMT). If I make a selection using the RMT then try to drag it then all I get is another selection. Photoshop CS5 on Windows 8. How to revert to the default situation where I can drag the selection, or has my installation got corrupted somehow ?
i have been reading, slices in photoshop can only be rectangular in shape...is there any way to make irregular shaped slices? for example, if i have a jpeg opened in photoshop, i want to make a curved slice at the bottom right corner, but will only save and use the jpeg in mainphoto, which i want to have a rounded edge?
I'm looking for a way to automate/simplify the following task:
1. We have high-resolution photos of the HDTV section of brick and mortar TV stores with dozens of TVs on display. (imagine walking in to Best Buy and taking photos of the HDTV area). Each of the TV screens (the actual video content) has a perfect alpha channel mask in Photoshop. 2. We have another layer with our new content for the TV screens. 3. We need to manipulate the new content to fit perfectly within the perfect masks of the TV screens. 4. Since it's always simulated still video content for HDTV screens, everything is always rectangular, so we don't need something to transform to organic shapes. Simply shapes with four straight sides.
Currently, we are using the Edit/Transform tools to do this. The problem is that it takes a very long time and isn't always perfect. Is there any way to automate this within Photoshop? If there is a plugin or add-on for Photoshop that will solve it, we'll be happy to purchase it.
First one: When ever I try to make the All Ages font 3D It says 'Could not complete the command Path is too complex' something like that. So How can I fix it.
Second one: Is there a way I can Load selection and use the rectangular marquee tool in photoshop CS6? I tried holding shift then doing it but no luck.
The problem is with the 'rectangular marquee tool' ... after I select a box, the tool defaults to a marquee that eliminates a portion of the first selected box. The curser changes to show the '+' curser with an 'x' in the lower right of the cursor.
I have a problem with the Rectangular Marquee. When ever i use it, it gives me an error "No pixels are more than 50% Selected, the selection edges will not be visible." what does that mean and how do i fix it?
By the way do you guys know any photoshop tutorials for Textureing 3D content?
I wish to design a label for a bottle of wine, but the label isn't rectangular, it's kind of triangular, with the top cut off. How do I create a new custom background this shape. I believe I have to design the shape within the standard rectangular template.
I like to crop a scan of newspaper article to a multi edge shape (or a big rectangular on the left next to a small one right bottom). Or I want to get ride of the left upper rectangular. How do I do that in CS6?
When I use the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" with my mouse, it is often difficult to do it accurately. Is there an easier way to do it than with the mouse, - can I manually enter the size of my selection .
When I try to use the rectangular marquee tool to select an area of any image the selection marker leaves dotted artifacts across the parts of the images over which the selection marker has passed.
I'm trying to select an area using the magic wand. It shows the icon of the wand when I select it, then it changes to the rectangular marquee when I go to the image ... I've checked that I'm on the correct layer.
My rectangular marquee is stuck in some sort of scale restriction mode. It will only do narrow horizontal rectangular selections. How can I free it up?
Whenever I try to use the Rectangular Marquee or Crop tools, they're stuck in a portrait style (looks like the aspect ratio of a regular sheet of paper). I can't make a square or a landscape-type rectangle. Furthermore, on the crop tool I'm not getting the handles where I can adjust the size of the crop box. When I try to make the shape bigger the top and bottom edges go completely off the canvas. This problem has happened a couple of times and usually corrects itself when I reboot, but this time it hasn't. I've probably got a setting wrong somewhere.
I need to crop a slightly non-rectangular, four-sided image (a photo of a picture in a frame) and end up with a rectangular image. I've tried cropping and lassoing but nothing seems to do the job. how I might do this on PSE.
Suppose I have an image 2000 pixels wide by 1000 pixels high. Pixel (0,0) is at the top left as you view the image. Using the rectangular selection tool, how can I specify an exact area to select? Say, for example, I want to select the area defined by (0,0), (100,0), (100,100) & (0,100), how would I do this?
I have CS6 on two Mac computers, a desktop and a laptop. On the desktop, everytime I draw a Rectangular Marquee, a very distracting black box with dimensions comes on at the lower right corner of the selection. This does not happen with CS6 on my laptop. I can't find a control to turn this box off. Where is it?
The Rectangular Marquee Tool in CS4 has started using a solid line instead of the usual dotted line. Is there some setting to revert to the dotted line somewhere, or has my software just gone haywire? Feather is 0px and Style is Normal.
When a draw a marquee, the tooltip says 100x100. When I let go, it changes to 104x104, or 102x102. It varies. But it never stays at what I let go at.I have the latest updates (Photoshop CS6 13.0.1). Yes, I've tried both a mouse and my Magic Trackpad. Yes, I've tried both GPU on and off.
